• Vs fusion - update to update a table based on values in another

• help - Fusion 7.1.2 causes BSOD

  Summary:

  I have problems under Windows XP SP2 under Fusion. Everything works with Fusion 7.1.1 but I get constant BSOD with Fusion 7.1.2.

  Details:

  I have some software I use locally and don't care if XP is precarious since I don't leave it up to the Internet. Here's what I did to test and debug:

  (1) I installed Fusion 7.1.1 .dmg. I'm on OS X 10.8.5 on a Macbook Pro with 8 GB of RAM.

  (2) I installed XP Pro SP2 full retail copy of DVD. activated (via the internet). Works very well. My software works.

  (3) after activation of XP, I spend my "Private to my Mac" VM network to keep XP away from the Internet

  (4) merger offers me 7.1.2 update

  (5) I have stop my VM. I'm hosting Fusion update to 7.1.2

  (6) when I restart XP, Fusion will automatically update VMware tools

  (7) all goes haywire

  (8) XP gets repeated BSOD and restarts sometimes as quickly as within 20 seconds, even as I connect

  (9) the BSOD error is STOP c000021a with status 0xc0000005 (sorry I should have taken a screenshot, but did not)

  (10) what can I do?

  More information:

  (11) that I removed the merger, including preferences, Application, library, etc. I rebooted 7.1.1. Everything works again. It is with a copy saved my XP VM I installed under 7.1.1 with the virtual machine that had 7.1.2 VMware tools installed.

  (12) I authorize update to 7.1.2 XP starts to become again BSOD

  (13) I am back on 7.1.1 and won't go again just to get a BSOD 7.1.2 perforated Cap. There is apparently no way to keep 7.1.1 and 7.1.2 on the computer at the same time.

  Merge only supports XP SP3 (although the workstation supports XP SP2). I don't want to go to SP3 because I don't want all the hassles out XP Activation to the Internet to make its periodic recording of 'windows genuine advantage' with Microsoft. As I said earlier, my software doesn't have Internet so I won't leave XP to the Internet. I just use a shared folder to move data back and forth between OS X and XP.

  I made a mistake trying to stay with XP SP2? I'm fighting a losing battle?

  Should I move my computer to OS X 10.9 or 10.10? Is there a chance that helps?

  I am facing a problem while using the conditional trigger with predicate. The trigger event is a MERGE statement.
  When the fusion (update and insert the two) is executed, trigger is fired, however the results of predicate condition false.

• Help with setting level and hard drive space allocation

  I use a Macbook Pro, aged 1 year, 200 GB of HD.  When I first installed the merger about a year ago, I think I have too much space allocated for the merger.  I allocated 100 GB (basically split the Mac HD).  I use many more apps in XP Pro as on the Mac side.  Now, I met two problems:

  1. I'm running out of space on the side Mac (went to update the Mac OS software recently and I was told I couldn't because of the lack of space; need to 9 GB and had only 4 GB of available). Then, I went to Fusion update (am currently uses version 1.1.3) and following the instructions of PDF of VMWare, went to duplicate virtual machine and could not do. Windows XP virtual machine uses 110 GB according to Get Info, so it's too big to duplicate.

  When I check the size of the virtual C drive on side Windows that indicates that I use GB 49 of the 100 assigned and a bit more 50 GB is unused space.  I know that I do not understand the virtual machines and, apparently, I thought it was just too much space on the windows 'side' is actually space on the Mac 'side' so. Don't know if it is correct or not.  Anyway, it seems to me that I was able to allocate less space to the virtual machine, and then have the space to reproduce?  Is this correct?  If so, how do I?

  2. assuming that the above problem can be straightened out, can I just install the latest version of the merger by the instructions by VMWare PDF file?

  Yes you can upgrade now if you want and you can download the latest (including 2.0.4 at present) version of the Web Site from VMware and is a free update for users of Fusion 1.x and it uses Fusion 1.x serial number.

  I'll get back to you later today on what else can be done to limit the growth, however, preventing you from upgrading.

  I have a solution for this!   After I created this post, I created a ticket with support and they solved it for me.

  Here's the skinny: El Capitan has changed something wise permissions to access data files on the Bootcamp partition.  VMWare said they were working to solve this, but in the meantime they had me do made me upward and short... just remove the entry of the virtual machine Boot Camp in Fusion and recreate it.   I recommend you save beforehand in case where, but this process does not affect the data on your partition, only one definition of the Fusion of the virtual machine and how you can access your score.

• Fusion 7.1.1 - Win 7 black screen after update, but still works

  After the last update of fusion, my VM 7 Win shows a black screen. The mouse is always visible on the screen, and everything is work and display the preview in the library window. I have disabled the accelerated graphics and still nothing, as well as updating my vmware tools. When I stop the virtual machine, I get the screen to show, but restarts, it goes black again, and rebooted several times.

  any thoughts? I have a bunch of stuff that I have to get out of it to the ability I have to erase and start over.

  After a few other troubleshooting, I found that I was waiting on an update to OSX as well. Did the update, and everything came and works correctly. Figure I'll add that, just in case where someone is looking for a solution.

  I installed the free Fusion 7 trial this week on my iMac and subsequently installed Windows 8.

  The resolution of the screen under Windows is very low compared to the Mac OS.

  In addition, I have the warning message in the Windows display settings:

  Take a look at the installation and the use of the VMware tools and more spicifically to manually install or upgrade VMware Tools in a Windows Virtual Machine.

  If by chance, VMware Fusion is not properly mounting image VMware Tools windows.iso file then you have to do it manually.  It is located in "/ Applications/VMware Fusion.app/Contents/Library/isoimages/windows.iso" and will have to be copied, not moved, in a location that is accessible out of the bundle of VMware Fusion.app as the office.  If you need to do this, you can right click on the bundle of VMware Fusion.app see the content of the selection box and access its location to copy.  To assign the windows.iso on the CD/DVD image, take a look at: Connect and Set Up a CD/DVD Drive
