  RoboSource control is a set of a few different packages, you can use it, of course.

  I've never used RoboSource Control with my projects. I used Microsoft Visual Source Safe (VSS), but never integrated with RoboHelp.

  Just a personal note on this. Even today, I would probably opt to use Microsoft VSS and use separate from RoboHelp. I could choose not to integrate with RoboHelp. But that's just me. I want to isolate the layers so that when things go wrong (and they always do) it is easier to identify where the problem lies. For example, you just implement RoboSource control. Suddenly, no updates occur to the subjects. Hmmm, is the problem with RoboHelp? Is it with RoboHelp and connection to RoboSource? Is it with RoboSource itself? But that's just me and the way I Landa. If I had only another author, I probably would not go down the route of source control.

  Deleted file recovery can recover incomplete files, i.e. the part of these files may be missing.  Recover deleted files is much more reliable if recovery of a backup, instead of using recovery software.

  These things depend on the operating system and the file system.

  One thing, you can see: open one of these files damaged with a text editor, and then make sure that the constant % PDF is somewhere in the first 1024 bytes.

  try using the /r switch when you perform the chkdsk command, it will be bad repairs secotrs and look for readable info:

  from the command, type Echo Y | chkdsk C: /r

  Restart the computer with the / r switch instead of chkdsk will be 5 steps, it will take a while.
