G10 - 133 - Question on second HARD drive

Hello

To save defeat them the laptop, can someone tell me if it has one or two bays for hard drive? It came with 80 GB of HARD drive. I see the models come with two 80 GB HARD drive. If my model has a vacant Bay, what kind of speed/model of drive should I get to install. I guess that's as simple as putting one in my old satellite pro 4600. Unscrew a few screws and put in a basket?

Kind regards

Paul

Hello Paul

As far as I know there no problem if you want to use the second HARD drive. Check the coverage of HARD drive in the lower corner of your Qosmio. Remove it and check the room for the second HARD drive.

As you know that Qosmio is designed to RAID technology and if you want to use it, you must use two absolutely identical hard drives. If this isn't the case, you can use the same HARD disk with more capacity than first.

Please inform us of the results. It may be useful to other users of the forum.

Thank you

  • Install a second hard drive in a G10-133

    Two questions for you...

I would like to install a second hard drive in my G10-133. Specifically, I'm looking for a second disc 80gig (MK8026GAX). Does anyone have experience of installing a second drive like that?

Secondly, I know where to buy the disc. But, someone has any advice on the carriage-drive itself (ie. the piece of kit that holds the drive in place in the Bay)? Specifically, where can I get one?

    Everyone applauded.

    Hello Andrew

In my opinion, you can build a second HDD, but the two HARD drives must have the same size.
As far as I know the 80 GB HARD drive is compatible with your device.
In addition the second HDD must be set as a slave HARD drive. You can set the jumper in the correct position.

    Hey Buddy,

  • Satellite L670-1CN - second HARD drive possible?

    Hello

is it possible to add a second hard drive on L670-1CN? I would like to buy a laptop that has this feature to put an ssd in a second Bay.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hey Buddy,

Why you n t answer that question yourself?

If you have a second HARD-drive Bay, remove the HARD drive cover. You see a second SATA connector?
If so, it is possible to use a second HDD, otherwise not because you can t improve it with such a connector.

  • Second Hard Drive not recognized / climb (but it IS listed in the Device Manager)

I have a HP Compaq DC7800 convertible mini tower running than Win 7 Pro 64-bit

I installed a second hard drive, and while I can see listed in the Device Manager, it is not mounted.

That is to say, it is not in the computer > field at all.

The second hard drive is a Hitachi HDT721032SLA360 ATA Device

Under the hardware ID, it is said: IDE\DiskHitachi_HDT721032SLA360___ST2OA38E

I thought it was a driver problem. Device Manager indicates that it uses the Microsoft 6.1.7600.16385 driver.

I can't find a Hitachi driver for this player. My understanding was that this drive would NOT need drivers.

I have it in the plug of P5 (I think it is P5, it's at the end of the cable with the primary hard drive) and I have a data cable sata from the sata port on the rear of the disc in the slot sata on the motherboard next to the slot in the place where the main in drive is plugged.

The only sites that list the drivers for this drive are all spam (thanks, google) sites.

What I have to change something in my Bios?

    Thanks in advance.

If the drive is listed in the device but not 'computer' Manager, it must be mounted or a new volume must be created. Please see HP - partitioning and names of hard drives (Windows 7) for more information on using the Windows Disk Management Console.

  • Can satellite A300 - 15 k (PSAJ4E) - I add a second HARD drive?

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite A300 - 15 k (PSAJ4E) and my question is, can I add second HARD drive? Now, I have a HARD inside drive, Hitachi 250 GB, 5400 RPM. is there a place for the second HARD drive?

I want to buy some 2.5 in 7200 RPM, thx in advance.

    Hello

Check the bottom of the unit.
There should be a second HARD drive Bay.
If the second HARD drive bay contains the pins of the connector HDD/then you could add a second HARD drive 2.5 SATA.
If the connector is not available, then the second HDD is not possible.

  • Presario CQ5110F: COMPAQ Presario CQ5110F adding a second hard drive and...

Good so I took the lead when writing my original post on how to combine the two computers successfully.

I had little time today messing with both ' puters and discovered...
They need a good cleaning and had.
The noise of the Presario is indeed the fan on the radiator, it's just old and tired. Who cannot be strong in a music room; new fan may not be too expensive.
So I decided the Presario is my starting point.

I would add the hard drive of the Slimline as slave; they have different connectors tho.

    (1) if I just unplug the V2000 CD reader (that has the straight plugs) and use them to connect the second hard drive will I just lost my CD player? It is very good.
    (2) what parameters of rider (if any) do I need to have on each disc? Do not see outside the car Slimlines.

I looked closer 2 slots for RAM and noticed that beside them there seems to be 2 places in addition to the Board of Directors, unused with no present holders plastic.

    (3) is it possible to add more slots and double the RAM? I would get 8 + GB and a 64-bit system end by ;~)

Neither office seems to have the ability to run 2 monitors as is. No problem 29 "should do for now.
Can't see a way to take the card out of the Slimline wireless and put it in the Presario. Internet not immediately necessary, hard connection cable always an option.

All the other tips and advice on how to optimize my sytem are also welcome.

The image below is a diagram for your motherboard. You have enough SATA ports to be used for the second and even a third hard drive.

DDR2 memory modules can be a little difficult to source. The current generation of add-on memory is the DDR3 specification.

Perform a Google or any search engine is your preference in the memory of the source by using the update of Compaq presario CQ5110F RAM as keywords.

  • HP Pavilion 550-126: install a second hard drive on Pavilion 550-126

Can I install a second hard drive on this computer?

    Hi @wreavesjr!

You can install another HARD drive in the PC because there is a free SATA port.

With regard to the supply cable, if your a more SATA connectors, you can use it to connect the secondary HDD in the system.

Hope this helps, and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

  • Envy 17-J111tx: second hard drive for the Envy 17

I really want to add another SSD or HARD disk. My question is what size should I buy and it would be compatible with SATA 2 or 3? I will void the warranty of my mobile during installation it?

    Hello

Through 2, 24, 41-43 page in this manual:
    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c04091762.PDF

You can put 3 SATA, they are backward compatible with SATA 2 HARD drive also

    Size: 7mm or 9. 5 mm compatible

You must purchase additional hard drive support (number of HP 720237-001) to second hard drive.

Replacement procedures are included in the manual. It is relatively easy to install. It will void the warranty if something goes wrong due to replacement by you. Contact HP service center for help.

  • Try adding the second hard drive

    Hello

I bought a 500-154th Pavilion in December to replace my aging system Vista. This Vista machine, finally, died yesterday, so I want to bring out the old WD 320 disc (disc SATA Cavier, manufactured in 2007) and put it in the new HP to recover some files. I have attached SATA and power cables and lit. Machine worked OK, but haven't seen the old drive in Windows 8.

I booted up the BIOS and it was perfectly listed, model number, everything, so I knew that the connections were OK. I checked the SATA ports in respect of the security of the devices and they are all enabled. If I go to Control Panel/Device Manager, it is not listed. If I check computer/manage the Virtual Drive Manager does not display it. The 320 GB which is held from the Vista operating system, but I don't see that it made a difference that I'm not the start of it. I assumed it would seem and what, if anything, I have to assign a drive letter.

I am a bit puzzled and open to all ideas.

    Hello stoke_ferry,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that your old Vista computer ultimately failed and you put your desktop HP Pavilion 500-154th PC hard drive to retrieve files and it does not work. Have you thought this might be the item failed in your Vista computer? If you did all the appropriate measures to add a second hard drive and it sounds as if you have and it appears not it could be the faulty and you will not be able to recover the information easily. There are companies that can recover your data, but the cost will be very high.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Development of a new second hard drive

To install a new second hard drive, I went to the Manager > storage > management of the disks and initialized the new drive with a right click on the left side. Now I guess I need right-click right the right side to make a 'new Volume Simple Format' my question is

1 Select 'quick format '? and

2 should I choose to "enable file and folder compression".

or just leave both of these boxes unchecked?

    Please notify.

    Thank you

    Hi Spaceman 69,

Just select Quick format. You need not enable compression of files and folders.

    Format the drive to NTFS

I want to add a second hard drive to a HP Pavilion A1700n Pc desktop to a new HP Pavilion P6-2100 Desktop Pc, so I can transfer files.

    milehisb,

Welcome on the user forums.  Section manuals PDF from HP did not offer a guide to upgrade and Service.

There are several options, depending on your needs and your expertise with the internal components of a computer.

If you goal is to simply get the data off the drive, then put it back in the A1700n, I would use #1.

    (1) use this external adapter for occasional use:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812232002

    (2) first search to find if you have a spare Sata power plug. Or you will need an adapter (molex 4pin to Sata).

    Hello

Thank you for coming back to let us to us know that you were able to solve the problem.

If you want to examine more closely the HDD, Seagate has software, SeaTools.

Note: Running trying to diagnose and repair hard drive failure can lead to the loss of data on bad sectors.

  • I want to add a second hard drive for my Pavilion Elite HPE 410f. Recommendations?

I want to add a second hard drive for my Pavilion Elite HPE 410f. Recommendations?  Somewhere in the 320 to 500 GB range and I want a quick unit because it will be used for rendering videos.    Thank you for your response.

    Hello

How fast is fast is the real question.

Have you looked at hybrid drives OCZ? Expensive but probably the fastest option.

Seagate also made a hybrid hard drive.  Good price... You will need a 3.5 "to 2.5" support if the player does not support.  If you install the drive in an empty optical Bay then you will need a 5.25 "to 2.5" support.

Your other choice is 7 200 or 10 000 rpm traditional hard drives.

Another option would be to add a PCI sata and two external hard dirves configured in RAID 0.
