GAME OF HEARTS

The names are not legible, somewhat distorted.

Hello Sonnware,

Thank you for your message.  This could be a possible video card problem.  I have included a link that points to some measures to solve this problem.  What type of video card you have?

You can check this by:
1. click on the "Start Orb" > right click on 'Computer' > select 'manage '.
"2 click on Device Manager.
3. click on the (+) sign next to "Graphics cards" (below, you will see your video card type)

It seems that one of the fixes was to reinstall the video card driver.  For this, you will need to go to the manufacturer website and download the latest driver for your video card type.  You can then double-click it and install the latest driver.  If you have an NVIDIA card please see below the statement that worked for someone else, but NVIDIA is specific.

"The problem seems to be unique for the NVIDIA driver. You can solve this problem without having to reinstall the device driver by right-clicking the desktop, select 'NVIDIA Control Panel' and making sure the radio button 'Let the 3D application decide' is selected in the 3D settings-> settings image with entry treeview overview. »

  • Bug in the game of hearts win percentage

Played 400 games. 332 won. Win rate is 57%, which is wrong. 332/400 is exactly 58%.

The misrepresentation of the win percentage is not a big problem, but there seems not to be a direct round bug.

If the bug is in the software of hearts, then it is probably benign. If it is in a system library, or somehow related to the platform, then it might be a more serious problem.

As much as I know, hearts is not under active maintenance contract, but it would be nice if someone at Microsoft check source code and identify the root cause.

P.S. I have a screenshot that shows the bug and my guess is that it is reproducible on other systems.

  • Game of hearts in Windows 7

I love the hearts in Windows 7, but for some reason any it records most current games, always starting with a new game with the statistics of game reset but overall stats intact. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem - something must have got deleted by mistake or corrupted.

    Hi again,

Just thought that I would let you know I managed to restore the link to the recording folder of the game. I followed the instructions of WindowsSeven Forums

Restore default Windows 7 location - user folders-

You will see it is quite complex, but I thought that there must be a link hidden between the game and this saved game file.

Thank you again for time and suggestions

  • Game of hearts on XP is able to be played on Windows 7

I love Windows 7.  This is the first time I've been effusive at all on what MS has offered in the way of operating, but in this case, apart from a few, relatively minor issues, I am impressed.  Thank you very much.

What I am curious is the new games offered with Windows 7.  I like all of them except the hearts.  I used to kill time between jobs by playing hearts on XP and earlier operating systems and has come to this, even if it is the player against 3 players who knew of the player's hand more intimately than the player don't.  In any case, I could learn to play and he beat.  That has not changed at all under Windows 7, it seems to have the same engine. However, the game is now so slow, it's boring and such, I can handle is no longer.

So, can I copy my XP version of hearts in Win 7?  I will have no penalty in doing this, as I have on a XP virtual machine on my 7 machine.  If Yes, what dll etc is to be applied with it?

  • How to fix scoring in game of hearts on Windows 7 when partitions are constantly inaccurate when all points go to a player

If, during playback of hearts, a player receives all points, the score should be 0-0-0-26.  Instead, the score is translated by 26-26-26-0.  How can I fix this?  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the game.

I know how to play and score hearts.  The problem is that, in the game, if one of the 4 players landed by taking all the hearts and the Queen of Spades, that a player receives all 26 points with all the other 3 players receiving 0 points.  The problem with the notation is exactly the opposite.  Instead of only 1 player receives 26 points, the performance rating in 3 players with 26 points and a player receiving 0.  Given that the maximum points for the whole game is only 26 points, this note is incorrect.

No, you don't understand the game or the score.  Whenever someone takes all the hearts and the Queen of Spades, it is called "Shooting the Moon".  When a player does that it gives 26 points to all players, and the person who shot the Moon gets zero points.  Your computer is it correctly mark.

The player with the lowest winning score so shooting the Moon is something you want to do, because it forces the 26 points on other players and gives you ZERO points.  That's how the game is set up.  There is no 'wobbly' rating is done by your computer - it does exactly what it should do.  You didn't know how the Moon of fire works.  Google 'hearts draw the Moon' and you'll see what I mean.
The 26 points are not "maximum points for the entire game.  It is only the maximum for this hand.  On the computer all the game is over when someone reaches 100 points, not 26.  When someone shoots the Moon, that hand is over and the next hand begins the game.
