  Hey, I had this same problem and after reading a lot of these Q & A I found a solution. I went in my folder on the computer and games found double clicked on it and I saw win and doubled clicked on it. Only some of the games I downloaded were there I clicked on one and it came without problems, no error message. I tried the game giving me an error message, found in a separate folder. Copied and pasted under I Win and Voila! Problem solved... Of course, I hope this helps as I see that this problem is very common.

  I want to run a game on windows 7!

  It is an old game (Knights Of Honor)

  My windows does not have this game, I changed the compatibility to earlier versions of windows, but nothing happedned mode!

  The problem can be solved by opening FF and choose the tools... To Add one... Select the SEARCH addon, then choose UNINSTALL FF browser... When asked to restart, then reload the gangsters. It worked for me. The suggestion on the 404 that says to remove the search via Add/Remove programs is completely BS, that research does not appear there.

  There is no file with this name in Windows XP.  It was probably part of a virus or spyware infection that has been partially removed. Run a full scan for virus/spyware.  If the problem persists, use the free Windows Sysinternals Autoruns tool to find and remove the reference to the file.

  I you suggest to put the computer in a clean boot state and then try to donload and see if it works.
