  • Go to view > toolbars > and uncheck Bookmarks Toolbar

  I tried both versions 20 and 21, and both have the bugs below, so I ended up having to reinstall version 19:
  Versions 1.) 20 and 21 Add a new toolbar that has nothing more than a button "Firefox" on it--and no way to get rid of this toolbar is provided. It wastes far too much space on my laptop screen - button should be placed on an other toolbars, or simply part of the defined icon that users can use to customize their menus or other toolbars bar.
  2.) this new toolbar is not customizable. Therefore, I don't have the ability to recover space on the screen by the way all of my sidebar on the new toolbar, and then hide the MenuBar.
  (3.) the back, forward and stop. reload buttons in my menubar no longer work. Return to the navigation toolbar and display this toolbar do not solve the problem. Or I can right-click on a web page and select these functions in the context menu: they are disabled for life again.
  4.) I can no longer right-click on the menu bar or a toolbar and get a context menu you I can choose an option "Customize" - I can't ALL a context menu.   Hey the only way that I got rid of him was to change for Firefox as my default, NOT BING or MSN search engine.  I let it run for a few minutes and then reset my good old MSN home page and then this great big BING has been reduced to only part of MSN. He will always try every two weeks to support so I turn to Godzilla or Firefox for a minute as my default search engine and it humbles than BING OLD WHOLESALE return to all good old MSN and from there I select what format I want to see MSN in. Swear, it works. I spent more than six weeks, try anything, I reset my computer whole darn suffered and lost each file crazy and even BING was there.  It is embedded in everything that MSN not because it's the name of their search engine. But do not see this big thief search page.  I liked it better when we could control everything on our computers. Become addicted to Google and they will start the bloody war of control! who had a thunk it!

• I can't get rid of the AOL toolbar. I use FF 14.0.1. The solutions posted for older versions of FF do not work.

  It is a problem that occurs on my wife's computer, not this one. The only difference on this computer, it is who has a D-Link USB adapter, as it is connected to our network via a wireless router. Who would have something to do with the problem? The installation of the D-Link program could bring along the AOL toolbar with it?

  I'm not sure of the source of the AOL toolbar, but in General, you should be able to disable at least (hide), if not completely remove the bar.

  I watched the addons-> extensions such as recommended and found what is called QuickShare. It leads you to a website for Snap.do (http://www.snapdoapp.com/) and that seems to be the culprit, for me at least. I removed it and the stupid social media bar disappeared. Don't know where it comes but I know where to look in the case, the problem recurs. Hope that helps.

  I use Vista Home Premium. I use the latest version of Firefox. I tried all of the suggestions I've seen on the web, and I still have this annoying toolbar on my browser.
