• Total number of words in a book, anyone?

  I have a book made up of a list of documents with a main frame. I would like to know how many books my book contains. I do not know FrameMaker 12A in file-> tools-> Document report a facility to count the number of words in the document. My book has 50 documents and it is tedious to do by hand.

  Y at - it a script out there that would do this? Baring, from any script that I might actually take and use? I already know how iterate over each document in a book, what I would need to know is the function I could call to count the number of words in the document and I think I could do the rest.

• Hotel booking form

  OK, so I MIGHT pass jobs soon (keep your fingers crossed) and the company, I'm moving (maybe) to have scored a large number of hotels as clients and will do a good number of sites for them.
  One of the key components on all of these sites will be the online booking. It's obviously all DB driven and so on, but if someone knows a good tutorial or book I'd like a pointer, as I have NO idea where to start. I rarely (never) used forms dynamically. and so don't know where to start.

• Audio book player FM transmitter

  I just started listening to audiobooks in the car. The car has only a radio, with no input cassette, cd, usb or auxiliary. For the last book, I bought a cheap on Amazon player who got me through LoTR and dies just as I started to the Appendix. Assumed that his life was bound to the ring after all. The method I used: split the files into 200 second increments. This meant that I don't have to listen too after I arrived to my final destination of the file. It worked but it was heavy. I want a better solution.

  Find an mp3 player/fm transmitter remebers the last position seems almost impossible. So the best following route seems to be for the purchase of these two components separately. In other words, an mp3 player and an fm transmitter. Of course, the mp3 player would need to remember the last position so that it is worth, and the beam doesn't have to break the Bank.

  SanDisk came in my search and I know of others that Sandisk has a few decent players. I see a few different models, it's good, but I have not seen a simple comparison chart of features and cost. It's then that I came across these forums to ask for help from the experts here, they should be so kind.

  Sandisk players are good for audio books? In other words, they can easily (and automatically) remember the last position. And is it a good fm transmitter for her in the car? Someone at - it such a facility, and if I may ask, how much the costume cost?

  SanDisk has proved to be used in the audio books. I would suggest that you go for it.

  Hello.  I am about to create recovery disks for my new laptop (HDX 16 t) and the brochure says "you need CD - r high quality (even if they don't recommend because they hold no CD), DVD-r, DVD-r double layer or + r... TC"with a set of recovery disks can be created by computer, I think it should I use what they consider 'good quality' but I have not the slightest idea what it is.  I understand the DL will hold twice as much (and), so I think I'll buy a couple of people.  I have 100 pins pack of the cheapies like TDK, Sony and Memorex (4.7 GB), but I have a feeling that it may not be 'good quality '.  Can anyone give me some suggestions?  Thank you.  Nancy

• Recommend a book for GUI concepts.

  The subject says it all. I was never a fan of GUI programming. Always avoided. But now the BB I guess I have no choice but to dive head first into the GUI. In looking KB articles I realize I have very weak concepts of the fact that the graphical object or the Paint method and the method of layout and all that of other GUI things. Can someone recommend a good java GUI book that could help out me in the programming of BB. Something more than a book of beginner level.

  More GUI controls keep getting included in the BONES, which can help, but only if you are targeting the current operating systems.

  .... What follows is a little off line and in my humble OPINION and poster not really useful for the original, (these its useful for me to return to answer the other questions).

  1Z0 - 146... not relating to the PDF preview he suggested another book to learn the PL/SQL... which seems critical on amazon like new with a 'style talkative'... which seems to have worked for some people and not for others. (Starting from PL/SQL: from novice to professional (voice of the Expert in Oracle) ISBN-13: 978 - 1590598825)

  (To give a bit of background here, only the last piece is relevant; I am an OCA PL/SQL, but I have never round up there OCP PL/SQL. I just spent my LPIC-2 201... but estimate that I have to put in a litte more than efforts I want to commit to spend my LPIC-2-202, that I would right now... and I would be favorable to leave it for a few months and also to focus first. In any case a review of here where I am today indicates a PL/SQL OCP pourrait have more synergy with my goals in the short term and less than the gap a few other certifications I could go (and I didn't like this a month or even a week or even two days ago). And Matthew references above are of course useful. ..... To get point I am undecided on a cost/risk/benefit is that the above work by Funnell adds value to me).

The key point is that it is safe certification. It does not directly reference 1z0 - 146 topics, but it does not seem to cover most of the land. In the body of the book after the first chapter, the style was much less folk that I feared. He seemed to give some good advice and tips and and took note of certain behaviors that may not be as you would expect... the kind of thing that could take one in a review. I could see some people love it. (No doubt will have another set of people who find useless). This is not a complete or necessarily accurate review, but it's just to say that I see a number of candidates 1z0-146 (and even practitioners of PL/SQL) find it useful.

• Lightroom 3: how-to books? (no videos or online tutorials)

  When you start a new software, I'd rather have a book of copy paper on my desk that I can browse, read and apply the suggestions that I work with the software. In this way, the many little extra tips and process stick in my mind to help me learn quickly and efficiently and correctly.  That's how I learn best.

  At the beginning of my trip of Lightroom 3, I thought that assistance PDF was the manual, operating instructions for processes using this powerful program.  Even "if it presents step by step suggestions in some cases they are pretty basic, and I think I need a good how-to book, more in depth to be able to make the most of product."  As Microsoft publications call, an inside out book (I use Windows 7).

  To read the PDF help further, I came across a proposed extra help Lightroom 3 Classroom ina Book.  I would like to be able to look through this book online to see if it's the type of book I'm after. Is there a place in the Adobe website where I can do?

  The only book I am reviewing is Vision of David of the path and the voice.  I saw a few chapters of this book online and they show the kind of information I'm looking for.

• The user of FrameMaker start question

  I have almost zero experience with Framemaker.  During my days of thesis, I used framemaker for a short time and returned to the latex!  Finally, 10 years, I've been using Microsoft Word.

  Now, after I've finished about 30% of the book, my Publisher is pushing me to move to Framemaker.  (I have concluded that this thing of Framemaker is the BEST software EVER WRITTEN or my Publisher really really hate Microsoft Word!)  :-):-))

  As everyone here has more experience with Framemaker, I ask for advice on the following:

  I have about 10 chapters in a book of engineering graduate with a large number of visio diagrams, tables and a large NUMBER of equations.  Equations were created using Microsoft Word 2007 Equation Editor.

  I first have to import the given in a book in framemaker and then continue to write in Framemaker.  I do not have the luxury to learn first of all the software for several hours and then start using it.  I'm looking for so for pointers on a quick way to get productive with it.

  Here are my specific questions:

  1. What is the best way to reliably import the current word document in a framemaker book?  (Currently, it's a single word file and is one of the reasons to move to Framemaker to be able to deal with the separate files for each chapter.  I don't mind create a separate for each chapter in Word file - if it comes to that.)

  2. What is the best place to learn more about how to perform the task described in the previous question?

  3. What is a good reference - either electronic or the dead - trees version I need once I start using Framemaker?  The software I have is Framemaker 9.0, and it seems to be still too recent for books.  But it is pretty close to Framemaker 8 can I go out with one more book for my current needs?

  4. how import Visio diagrams works with Framemaker, moving forward?

  If you have any other useful suggestions, I welcome them also.

  He long ago, in a universe of FrameMaker far away, square1.nl used to
  advertise a product or service or both who converted various
  graphics to editable FM chart. Give them a try.

  In addition, there used to be a conversion utility that converted from latex
  to the mif or vice versa all or maybe both. I don't know if he
  would help you to find a way to convert, create new or recreate your
  Word equations to latex, then to the FM band; I don't know if the utility works
  for equations. I'm not sure if this is a FM-unix utility only, or if
  There is a version of Windows. Just a wild stab here.

  FM9 interface offers radically different appearances than any
  FM sooner, you may know, but many frequently used features and
  the controls are always accessible through the menus of the FM, even if some call it
  the new interface elements, and some call it the 'old'. Adobe has a
  Webcast of the FM 9 interface in use free online; Maybe a list any
  Member can give the link. It is not only educational about the user interface,
  but also as to its use in a certain number of common situations.

  IMO, anyone who is comfortable in latex should be able to manage in FM,
  especially with some experience recovered memory and resources of
  This and other lists of FM.
