Google Maps Flex API - UK postal codes

Hi all

I dare say most of you isn't in United Kingdom so perhaps no information on that, but I started to tackle this problem. The Google Maps API seems to recognize the names of city in England, even relatively small provided that I put into the details of the County and country. But as far as I know, postal code UK is not recognized in the way which we ZIP codes are. Someone else has encountered this and if so how did you work around it? The example of Tour de Flex Yahoo maps seems to know zip codes, but I must admit that I don't really like the appearance of their cards...

Richard

If this is related to the updated Google Maps geocode call attempt in the form of your search string as postal code + ', UK '.

i.e." TN13 2 TB, UK.

Another technique is to call "Google local search", see the example

search http://code.google.com/apis/Maps/documentation/Flash/demogallery.html?SearchQuery=local%20 & classname=

Define the type of research on "The GeoWeb" and the type of postal code as shown above (TN13 2 TB, UK), the source code is provided.

  • OS 10.3 / WebView: no interaction with the Google Maps Javascript API

    Hello

    Google Maps Javascript API no longer works correctly using the Web on OS 10.3.  On all the operating system previous releases everything worked perfectly fine in WebView but on OS 10.3 even if the plan (or view, or anything else provided by Google APIs) is displayed correctly, there is no interaction whatsoever with it - no response to taps, none is panoramic, no zoom, etc.

    I don't speak of the 10.3.0.698 Simulator - I do not have access to the true OS 10.3 device.

    Even simple examples of Google Maps doesn't work, try for example:

    import bb.cascades 1.2

    Page {
        Container {
            preferredHeight: 720
            preferredWidth: 720
            WebView {
                preferredHeight: 720
                preferredWidth: 720

    url: "https://google-developers.appspot.com/maps/documentation/javascript/examples/full/marker-simple"
            }
        }
    }

    The map appears, but there is absolutely no interaction with it - just a STATIC content.  On OS 10.2.xxxx, it works perfectly fine...

    P.S. If you open the same example URL directly in the web browser on OS 10.3 everything works well - responds to taps, she can be zoomed, panned, etc..    So, it's apparently a problem with user agent (which is probably the same web browser both webview).  Change the user agent in WebView to e.g. Z10 user agent doesn't help, either.

    Can anyone help?

    Your sample application does not seem to suffer the original bug, I thought. That bug could cause a WebView with no ancestor ScrollView would get too small window Visual and tactile input would be anchored to the Visual display window very small. If you want to learn more on this topic, see a tale of two windows - part for the discussion of Visual and updated display on the page. Perhaps your sample application it is OK because it specifies a preferredHeight for Web display, which can affect the used Visual display window.

    To be more precise, on a real device of passport BlackBerry running OS versions 10.3.0.1052 and 10.3.0.1154, the sample you provided responds perfectly to press ENTER.

    However, on the Simulator on OS 10.3.0.698, I can confirm input touchscreen does not work. Therefore a separate bug, which seems to be specific to the Simulator.

    I think you can be assured that end users will still be able to use your app (s) on a real passport of BlackBerry device, but it is unfortunate that it does not work on the Simulator.

  • Google Maps V3 API and JavaScript errors webworks

    The card charge very well and displayed, but any attempt of pan throws a JavaScript error.

    Eception TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method 'item '.

    Example URL loaded in ripple will show the question.

    Also, I get this application when incorporating the code in a web site works:

    I use my own card key and added to the config.

    The only way I've found this is to create in a separate file and load that into an iframe.

    No idea what is the problem?

    Code seems to work on the device, so I'm good now.  Ripple retains the question.

  • Values are not displayed for 3 maps of States-digit postal code

    I've been tinkering with an application that displays the United States, with a query that shows how many people we have in each State. The link takes you to a page that displays the map of zip code/province code style. The map of the United States, I can see the label and the value of the query for all States. But in terms of the State, what arises are labels. I plan to display values, but they will not appear.

    I use APEX 4.0.1 in a 10.2.0.4 database running on Windows.

    Hi mjblake,

    Can you please place a testcase on apex.oracle.com, so that I can take a closer look.

    In the meantime, I implemented a small example on apex.oracle.com, where I associate the data with a few points on the map of Alabama: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=36648:14. I'm not sure of what could be the problem, but I think it would be useful to check what are your parameters to map the region column and the Type of series. As you will see on my example, I have the following settings:

  • The attributes of the map page region column map should now be on REGION_ID so AnyChart knows how to interpret the data.

  • On the page of the map series, the series Type must be set to the card.
  • You may find it useful to refer also to a online AnyChart example http://anychart.com/products/anychart/gallery/sample_204.html, where you can also discover the XML associated with the card and see how the end result has been achieved.

  • error message when the location of my pictures (Google maps)

    Excuse my bad English, I'm french! When I try to inform them of the location of my pictures in IPhoto, using Google Maps in the Info window, I get this message: "Oops!" something was wrong. This page has not properly loaded Google maps. See the JavaScript console for more technical details"

    What can I do with Java script?

    Thank you for your response.

    Contract of Apple with Google to use Google maps with locations of the pictures in the iPhoto library has been cancelled a few months previously.  That's why iPhoto 9.4.3 and earlier can no longer access the Google map servers and get this error message.

    If you use iPhoto 9.4.3 or earlier you can stop the fracas in the following manner, but will lose the mapping functionality in the library.

    iPhoto 9.4.3 and earlier began planting for many users suddenly a few weeks ago. This is because the contract between Apple and Google for the use of Google maps with iPhoto 9.4.3 and earlier sites expired an elderly couple of months and was not renewed. This is the case of him freezes or crashes.

    Now uses Apple its own program for locations maps and too the use you need to run iPhoto 9.5.1 and Mavericks or 9.6.1 and Yosemite El Capitan or Photos and El Capitan.

    Re: iPhoto crashes after opening several times in reply to carvermon

    I found a solution that works for me.

    1 goto /Applications/iPhoto.app/Contents/Resources (control (right) - click the iPhoto application and select the content in the context menu - OT.)

    2 delete the files 'googlemap.html' and googlesearch.html

    iPhoto no longer crashes, site does not work, but it doesn't bother me too much.

    Let me know if it works for you guys...

    Deletes two files "googlemap.html" and the googlesearch.html of iPhoto application bundle prevents the JavaScript running inside and causing the accident.  Log of course do the same thing. So it's pretty clear that something happened at the end of Google.

    There is a notch posted by user cotton-x that will let iPhoto 9 and earlier still use Google Maps for the purpose of the location.

    Re: iPhoto 11 - problems with Photo locations

    in response to Paul Fisher

    YES!

    I did just the job.

    I'm on a macbook running white 10.7.5 with iPhoto 9.4.3

    Thanks to Paul, I got an idea. What happens if we had simply ignored Apple has expired API and used our own, private and free from Google. Turns out it works.

    Here's what you need to do:

    0 - quit iPhoto

    1. create a google account or use your own

    Console developers of Google 2 - access HERE

    3. create a project (any name)

    4 - turn on a Google Maps Javascript API

    5 - generate your own API key

    6 - go to the folder /Applications/iPhoto.app/Contents/Resources/googleMap.html

    7. change the googleMap.html (I used an application called TextWrangler)

    8 change the src ="http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?v=3 & client = gme-appleinc & sensor = false" > to this src = 'https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?key=YOUR_KEY_HERE& signed_in = true & sensor = false ">"

    9 - save your freshly edited googleMap.html

    10 - open iPhoto and enjoy.

    Take the Apple.

    Don't forget to make a backup copy of the iPhoto application before performing this procedure.

    Version 3 of the API no longer requires a key.

    I don't know a lot about the v2.

    I added this to the place in the html header:

    And this, in the section of function Jascript:

    function initialize() {
            var myOptions = {
              center: new google.maps.LatLng(43.6953512,-71.6306325),
              zoom: 8,
              mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.HYBRID
            };
            var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"),
                myOptions);
          }

    Initialize(); the executed before the page load section

    And then I have a region without a model like this:

    I can't get the height; 600px; Width: 400 PX to display in the tag style above, but it's what's there

    And the map displays ok for me.

  • Google Maps Api V3 - newbie question

    Gidday guys

    I was wondering if you could give me a little nudge in the right direction here...

    I want to have the functionality of google map in my desktop Air application that I do in Flash CS5.  Everything seems to be in javascript.

    Is the idea of having an external google maps page and WHICH load in Air via htmlloader or something of that nature?

    And then I meant get coords lat/long to put in place a new card, I could send them from Flash in page maps through a php $_POST and ask php to put the new coords in the html/javascript code?

    If anyone knows some info that specifically addresses the use of the V3 of the API with Flash, I would be happy to follow the link.

    Thanks for your help

    Yes, HTMLLoader will do for you if you have an external html page which is a google map. You can manage the update of map in any event have the AIR app don't query POST and then move the data analyzed in a javascript function in the map page that then updates the map, or you can trigger a javascript function (by air) in the page of the map which will then make an AJAX call and manage data and then update the map accordingly.

  • Help with loading a swf from the Google Map API done in AS3 AS2 Flash site

    OK, maybe this can be done, I need to do everything in AS3, or it is a problem of the Google Map API.

    If someone could put me on the right track, I would be grateful.

    I created a Google Map API for Flash Add to my Web site.

    My site has been built using AS2 and the Google Map API was built using AS3

    My site Flash .swf works fine and the Google Map.swf, I created works very well.

    The problem is when I try and do not add the Google Map.swf on my website flash As2 will Google.swf no work.

    I'm trying just to eliminate the error.

    Is it because that...

    1. after having my site flash with AS2, I can't add a .swf with AS3

    2. I need to change the code...

    3. it has nothing to do with AS3, it's because this is a Google Map API.

    I have a button written in AS2 on my main flash site that has a a PreLoader.

    on (release) {}

    Stop behavior MovieClip
    this.gotoAndStop ("Google_Map");
    End behavior

    load film behavior
    If (this.mcContentHolder is {Number (this.mcContentHolder))}
    loadMovieNum ("PreLoaderGoogle.swf", this.mcContentHolder);
    } else {}
    this.mcContentHolder.loadMovie ("PreLoaderGoogle.swf");
    }
    End behavior
    }

    The PreLoaderGoogle.swf was then has a

    Instance of: charger

    contentPath

    Google_Map.swf

    If I change the Google_Map.swf instance in the PreLoader for an another .swf using AS2 it all works.

    or do I just have the wrong end of the stick.

    All advice appreciated.

    If you load an as3 swf into an as2 swf, none of the code in the as3 swf file will work.

    the simplest way around this is: you could create a loader swf (GER) as3 that loads your as2 swf and load your google as3 swf.
