Google search page is frequently updated on firefox beta 15

Whenever I do using the query search of google search result continuous page on self-identity without giving me a chance to scroll over the results. I think that this problem appeared after I started using the Google Image search application.

I tried to clear the cache and cookies, but appears not to solve the problem, because the same problems reappeared again

Hello azbua, all first please update to the current version of firefox - firefox 18.

I suspect that the problem you described is caused by an addon, but since there are also several adware associated extensions and customizations present in your current profile, I think that it would be preferable to reset firefox (this will keep your saved bookmarks and passwords).

  • Since the update a few days ago lost sites often visited on my google search page?

I used Google for a search engine. Before the update a few days ago, when I opened a new tab, it would give me a Google search page that shows in the lower part of 6 to 9 (forget) boxes inside which were minis first pages of my sites visited most often, so I just had to click on one of the boxes to reach the site I needed immediately.

Since the upgrade, these boxes have been reduced to 3. If you try to move one of the cover on one of the 3 mini page, you can see that others are attached to the breast but it is impossible to click and go. All sites that were saved, seem to be there, and in each of the 3 boxes but are not accessible.

Is anyway to recover these boxes separately?

    Thank you

    Nancy Smith

Firefox automatically adjusts the number of columns that match on the subject: newtab page if you adjust the width of the Firefox window or zoom the page in or out and no longer resizes thumbnails.
The current version is not resize the image, but instead reduced the number of tiles to fit the current width of the screen, so you can't see the number of columns specified via the browser.newtabpage.columns preference.
Zoom the subject: newtab page to see more tiles (Ctrl and -).

Toggle the browser.newtab.preload pref on the about: config page in case of problems with zoom the subject: newtab page.

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

    Hello, Linda.

I'm afraid that your problem may be deeper than your missing homepage, but you can easily change your homepage by going to tools > Options > general and entering the address in the field "Home Page".

I must warn you, however, that the version of Firefox you are using right now is obsolete and is no longer supported. Please install the latest version for maximum speed, security and functionality. It is completely free, as always. You can get it via Firefox update service (help > check for updates...) or at www.getfirefox.com

After trying a small utility, I'm stuck with the toolbar of Babylon and the home page... Yes... I place the small checkpoint to disable installation...
No problem, I managed to remove all that...
But since then I can not get my homepage to stay together about: blank... it continues from the Google search page. I managed to link the homepage about button: empty, but when I add a new page (by clicking on the + sign next to the tab on the right most) I get the Google search page...
    Thanks in advance.

Hello l.j.claessen, please perform the following steps - they must remove the remaining bits of Babylon:

    • Go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information > profile folder - "view folder", then a new window will open. in this window look out for a file named user.js, delete or rename this file and restart firefox afterwards. This will get rid of the file which is crushing your custom setting homepage.
  • Options button on the standard google search page disappeared

    Firefox 12.0
on the google search page, I had two buttons:
    SafeSearch on/off button
    Options (gear) button
the last button still appears on the screen, but now is empty: the gear is not displayed. When ipush result are incompatible: in some screens (search results), I get 4 options to choose, in other screens nothin happens at all.

I really don't like this, because FF seems to have become unstable on my machine.

As a fix as I complete reinstalled FF, without change, the problem persisted.

    IE is not this problem

Hi madperson, thanks for the quick response. Indeed I cleaned all the cookies and cache, but in fact most websites like webmail seemed odd as well. To cut things short, I decided to reinstall an earlier version, which solved the problem. This isn't really a favorite firefox solution, but alas.

  • The timeline of Google search function does not work in Firefox but not in IE

I use Google for searches. After receiving the search results there are additional options along the left sidebar. "Timeline" function takes the results of the search and sort them in chronological order and displays the results on a timeline. This feature is used to work well in Firefox. Now after receipt of search results when I press the option "Timeline" Google tells me that my search "did not match any documents."

I assumed the problem was with Google but when I finally tested in Internet Explorer, I discovered that the function of the chronology has worked well. The exact URL in Internet Explorer properly displays the results of the timeline sorted but when stuck in Firefox it produces no result.

Please explain what could be the cause or I might have to switch browsers that I wouldn't do. Thank you.

    Here is year example of a Google Timeline search request that produces no. matching documents: "http://www.google.com/search?source=ig & hl = in & rlz = 1G1GGLQ_ENUS287 & = & q = mozilla + firefox + reviews & btnG = Google + Search & aq = f & oq = #q = mozilla + firefox + reviews & hl = in & tbo = 1 & rlz = 1G1GGLQ_ENUS287 & output = search & source = lnt & tbs = tl:1 & a = X & ei = W20_Tf_2OoragAeJ0LG8Aw & ved = 0CA8QpwUoBA & fp = d99ec83a3d63f24"

Clear the cache and cookies from sites that cause problems.

    • "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > advanced > network > storage (Cache) offline: 'clear now '.
    • 'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems: Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the Add-ons is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Modules > themes).

    • Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.

  • Google (search pages) will not load on my computer.

Google (search pages) will not load on my computer.  It worked fine, then all of a sudden - not google.  Google seems to be the only site that does not work (in fact google maps comes up) - everything is fine.  Any ideas as to why this is happening or what I can do about it?

In fact the advice I received in another thread solved my problem.  Thanks anyway.

  • I've just updated to Firefox Beta 20. Not happy! The options "View Background Image" and "Image Mode" when you right-click is missing. How can I get that back?

I've just updated to Firefox Beta 20. Not happy! The options "View Background Image" and "Image Mode" when you right-click is missing. How can I get that back?

These entries should still be there if you right click on an image or an area with a background image.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.
  • How can I remove icons Google Apps and Google search page AFTER 41 of Firefox Update Options?

Before my recent upgrade to Firefox 41, while using Google search in the search bar, Google Apps and Options icons were not on the search page. After the upgrade to Firefox 41, two icons appear. How can I remove them?

You can get Google results through two other sites, with an accent like the privacy. You can judge if you like better the layout:

I do not use those regularly myself, so I don't know exactly what the differences would be.

  • Since Firefox v34, after Zoom text on a Google search page took me, the Google search page is empty after you click 'Back' to it. What is a v34 glitch?

Since Firefox v34, search results page is empty, 1) by clicking a link in a Google search results page and loading of the linked page, 2) Zoom on the text on the page that Google took me and then without resetting the zoom text, 3) by clicking on the arrow of Firefox 'Back' to return to Google search results. If at that time I reload the page of Google results, or click back one page and will transmit then again, the full search results will be displayed then again.

This happens on my Windows 7 PC as well as my Vista laptop. Is it a glitch with text zoom and Google in Firefox version 34?

Sorry, this seems to be a problem with the cache in memory of Firefox: when you use a high Google zoom level the (the default setting) with "instant prediction results" then Firefox pips showing again after going back page (you can see the results for a fraction of a second before they white).

Assuming you like your zoom level and enjoy using the instant prediction results, then the solution is to disable the part of the Firefox cached in memory by changing a setting under the covers.

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste sess and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers and change the value from-1 to 0 (that's a zero).

(Please change not all other parameters similar to 0-sounding or you can disable the ability of Firefox to save/restore your tabs and windows open).

Then reload the page of Google results and the test.

Fixed? (Or should I say, worked around?)

  • Many problems of navigation of Web pages since the update to Firefox 41

Since the last major update to Firefox a few weeks ago, I had problems during the use of the buttons such as home, end, Pg Up, Pg down when scrolling through Web pages.

If I press the end, it must be placed towards the bottom of the page, but it usually scrolls a little distance or doesn't do anything. When I'm way down on a Web page, press home should take you to the top of the page. However, he did this on rare occasions. He general scrolls upward further DOWN on the page, scrolls a little lower than the top or doesn't do anything.

PG. PREC and PG. Prev are similar as well. PG down repeatedly scrolls wayyyyyyy upward or down and Pg up wayyyy goes upward or down... or nothing at all.

Updating to FF 41.0.2, I had hoped that the problem has been resolved, but alas, the question remains, and so I decided to post this. I tested this on other browsers such as Chrome and MS Edge and they use keys properly.

    Any advice? Thank you.

Actually, I * think * I just found the problem. I have keyboard navigation and you had a few weeks for technical reasons. That is almost certainly interfere with the navigation of the Web page. I realized the question after going into safe mode. Thanks for the help!

  • How can I stop Firefox by logging into my gmail account whenever I go to the Google search page?

I set Google as my homepage, so whenever I start FF it connects to one of my Gmail accounts. Always the least used too.
I would prefer not to do that and hope that there is a solution.

Make sure that the box remember connect you on the page Gmail is not a tick.

Details such as websites to remember you (automatically log you) are stored in a cookie.

    • Create a cookie 'allow' except to keep these cookies, in particular in the case of secure websites and when the cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
    • Tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: Exceptions

Clear the cache and delete cookies only from Web sites that cause problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".
  • Firefox will not search using google.co.uk after an update of Firefox 10.0.3 to 10.0.4

I have a PC and a laptop, both running Mandriva Linux 2010.2. The PC running FF 10.0.3 and the laptop just upgraded to FF 10.0.4. In both cases, the homepage is google.co.uk. The PC is fine but the laptop will not try using google. I changed the homepage to yahoo.co.uk as a temporary solution and it will search and find. How can I get FF 10.0.4 to work with google?

Thanks, this seems to have worked. I tried this before, but got no result, but I didn't close FF and restart it and that maybe why it did not work the first time. Everything is good now, thanks for your help. It is now closed.
