GoPro video transcoding is worth it?

I work with a lot of PoV shots of different cameras model hero GoPro. My personal camera is a hero 4 money, and for most of the cases I turn to 1080 p 59.94 FPS with ProTune, native white, neutral color balance.

I wonder if it's worth to transcode the camera for GoPro Cineform MP4s before I change them. My system is powerful enough that I had up to seven videos MP4 working both in Premiere Pro with no problems of performance, even with a bit of color-ranking of the applied effects (I use the GPU acceleration).

GoPro States Cineform provides "improved video quality", but I do not see how the encoding to another lossy format will improve the video quality. He expected to get worse, right? Already my videos through enough compression as it is. GoPro MP4 > H.264 > YouTube

Then Cineform will give me any sort of quality improvement? It will give me more flexibility in the color adjustment?

HI Ghost Stinger,

GoPro States Cineform provides "improved video quality", but I do not see how the encoding to another lossy format will improve the video quality. He expected to get worse, right?

Yes, although very few. I think you can very well work with native files if your system can operate with files natively.

Thank you

Kevin

  • U410 touch GoPro video problems

    Hello

I'm looking for help videos how GoPro works fine on my computer. Currently they are very restless.

    My system spec is:

    i7-3537U 2.00 GHz (quad core)

    -NVIDIA GeForce 710M

    -8 GB ram

After reviewing the GoPros site, they offer 3 to 3.7 GHz cpu which I account I'm short on. I however had limited, success when you change the video settings in VLC to the video output directX (directdraw).

Since a recent update of VLC this change settings does not work and results in a pink screen where as before I had a smooth video playback.

I noticed that the CPU drivers are old enough (21/04/2009, 6.3.9600.16384) and those on the lenovo support site are much more recent. I installed it but there was no change in Device Manager.

It is true that this otherwise fast computer is not able to read the GoPro videos?

    Hello

I've never used a GoPro camera or tried to play videos of one on my touch U410, but here are some things you might want to try:

    1. Check that the computer is configured to use the GPU nVidia and Intel not an edge (which is less power hungry, but also not as powerful as the one nVidia).

    2. Run Windows Update (file name: WUAPP.) (EXE) and make sure you have all the updates for Windows installed on the U410.

    3. Try to download and install the latest video driver for the 710M from nVidia chip (currently version 337.88 WHQL, at http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/75992).

If all goes well, one who will not solve the problem.

  • 6 hours of export for 8 min GoPro video? Help, please!

I'm mostly new to first and just start to try and ramp upward on the simpler editing and export process. I'm trying to make a GoPro video, 1080 p @ 60 fps. I started yesterday evening, turned up at 05:00 to see it is 54% of the second pass - had to stop him. I am rendering/export H.264 YouTube 1080HD preset. The video has minor changes, color Cine25 FX and FX, correction of the lens correction. I have two internal HDs. My system is a 850pro 1 TB SSD and second disc is the former system of 750Go player that a disk HARD is quick and dedicated JUST to video files. I tried rendering the material of origin since the HARD disk exported to the HARD drive first. It took too long. I moved the source for the SSD (system disk) and exporting at the disk - it still says that it will be made an hour 6, but until now this number only sank 20 minutes in the last 2 hours.

Of course, I'm doing something wrong. I was hoping that I had set up my computer for faster makes light of the SSD and two internal drives to remove bottlenecks. Any ideas where is the hang up? Once again, I'm just using the preset in first for YouTube 1080HD, did not have one of these parameters. Thoughts? I beg you, please help!

p.s. I saw a guy complain renders about 5 minutes for a duration of 20 min video to a higher ground. How to get to the point where I can complain renders 5 minutes!

The export of speed is a factor of...

Material... What is your processor and the amount of Ram is installed

Video... I do not use GoPro, but reading it's time CPU

Effects... some effects last longer than others, and several effects can take MUCH longer

... Test export WITHOUT effects and then add one of the effects at once

For first 14 Elements. I can't stabilize a 2, 7 K GoPro video: error message ' video size & project is not compatible. " Create a new project. Project automatically implemented by Adobe settings is 4K. Which the project settings to choose for a 2.7 K 25 fps?

    [title published by mod]

Do not rely on such update. 2.7 K is not an ordinary resolution.

You can import 2.7 K in ss14, you can't stabilize.

First Pro CC 2015 to do this.

But if 2.7 K files are introduced into a sequence of 1920 x 1080 you have the same problem, but this problem is corrected by nesting the images first.

  • I can't edit my Gopro videos when downloaded on my Mac

When I download my photos and videos from gopro on my Mac, if I try and and add them to the Gopro studio or change them I can't because they are greyed out. Is this for Mac application photos where you posted?

To use the Photos in other programs, or use the media browser (in the opened window on the left down under Support == > photos == > photos or the export of pictures (menu, file == > export) to a folder on the desktop and use here)

  • First to create DVDs from GoPro videos that will play on a TV via a standalone DVD player?

Thanks a lot for your answer with track information.

Never hesitate to tell me when you need clarification on what I write. I've rewritten if necessary. A Yes was not honest enough to widespread expectations that came with a Yes response. Yes seemed a bright picture that included no considerations of ups and downs associated with the process. I tried to present some considerations in answer 1.

When and if you need help on your Premiere Elements project, I would be happy for the opportunity to be useful with videos of sportsbike. Then, in addition to the version of Premiere Elements used and the computer operating system that you run it on, I'll ask you on your camera settings so that we can better set up the project. GoPro parameters could be (4:3) 1280 x 960, 1280 x 720 (16:9) or 1920 x 1080 (16:9)?

    Best wishes.

  • Gopro transformed videos

I made a few Gopro videos with silky smooth sky clear, 1080 p 60frames. I needed to slow-mo so I interpreted the half speed 30 fps videos and saved as 30 p. The final result was not satisfactory. Although the colors and contrast been refined a bit and looking better, there was a visible banding in the sky and the overall loss of sharpness. The videos looked tablets. Like saving a sharp image in Photoshop to 8 JPG instead of 12. I tried different codecs and settings (H.264, PHOTOJPG), has always used the maximum values to save, but never I could recover from the sharpness and clarity, I've had with intact Gopro material.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Thank you.

Blue sky and 8-bit can easily give you strips. Here's a suggested workflow. I guess that you used to import your videos and convert them to the cuneiform GoPro GoPro Studio.

Import of 60 fps images in AE. Select the footage in the project Panel and go to the interpretation of the images (right click or file > interpret footage > main) and set the frame rate of 29.97 (standard for video). Select the footage in the project Panel, and then create a new model of selected.

Now set your project for 16 or 32 bit and make any adjustments to the images. This will preserve the original GoPro footage to the highest possible quality until you are willing to lend. The last step would be to use the TEA and one of the standard YouTube or Vimeo presets to create your final rendering for distribution on the net. If the AME adds banding you can try to increase the maximum data rate suggested by Vimeo or YouTube, or you can jack it way up if you want to just play videos on your computer. If you're still having problems of bands then I go back to AE and add a little grain film images go pro. The grain will tend to mask the problems of strips of 8 bits in the sky.

If you are going to need to do more editing or processing of your videos I would suggest that you return a DI (digital intermediate) to an almost without loss or loss 10-bit or better codec. You could also do a sequence of images 16 or 32-bit. Keep things 10-bit or better until you're ready to make the final product compressed for delivery to your audience.

  • GoPro MP4 files do not allow logging tags!

I found a little information on this topic, but not enough to solve my problems, so here I am asking.  Prelude to Adobe won't allow me to log/tag, one of my GoPro videos with comments or subclips? Why not?

As a work around you can transcode your GoPro videos in a different format that allows the addition of metadata. I wish we had the metadata for GoPro support in our old version of CS6 for our video products (this is not an only limitation of prelude in CS6).

    Thank you

  • Importing video to 2.7 K for a project of 1080; Not good quality

    I'm on FCP 10.1.4.   Mounting on a MBP running OS 10.9.5 15 ".

I imported a few beautiful images of GoPro 2.7 K 60 fps (59,94 p).   When I play it in the Viewer on the upper right of the screen, it looks great.   Strong, bright color, smooth.

I created a project of 30 fps (29.97 p) 1080.   I intend to export to this resolution that I find he dribbles well and seems very well on most of the big and small screens.  However...

If I take a video from the browser and drag it to my project, the quality is seriously degraded.  When I play now the same clip of the project rather than the browser, now it is very soft, the colors are not as nice.  It just looks like another shit GoPro video and not the high quality that looks outside the project.

I did not export it again, but the experience passed, my export to compressor bring the fidelity of the original.

I am aware that I am down the video resolution and frame rate, however, I've seen a few videos 1080 and 720 even very crunchy, so I don't know why this happens.  I thought that if I gave the CPF in addition that he needs, he could extract something nice.

Can I trust that compressor will clean as much as possible?

Should move on to a project which is 2K or 60 frames per second (to match the max resolution of the image collection that I have.)?

I don't know some of my images is only 720 p.

Is there a setting of FCP to have spend more time has translated the video of the native resolution of the resolution of the project?

Thanks for any help.  This poisoning me for awhile.  Web searches raise obvious answers to this question, so I was hoping someone here could help me.

Encrassante the Viewer to a higher quality and make the project. Generally, I think, unless you intend to use the extra size to crop, most users edit in the original size and create a master of the size before the revision downward on export.

  • Connect App displays 'Wireless MB USB stick... "in the giant red banner streaming video

Hi all. So I have not used my connect drive in about a month and today I tried to stream a video and was greated with a beautiful giant red banner at the top that says that «wireless stick is in MB USB...» "I guess this should disappear, but it doesn't not and trying to watch a movie, it is very distracting. I have a 64 gb to connect using an iPhone 6s. In addition, I found that some of my movies tend to stop and buffer on every 30 seconds until eventually they all stop. I've seen this happen on Visual records that are about 1.5 GB and more. If necessary I can post on this in another thread, but 2 birds 1 stone. video files are .mp4

So, for the part of the banner red is only a question of enforcement or is there something wrong with my drive think it's stuck in usb mode?

With streaming video, is there a size limit, or is there a problem of cache/buffer in the app?

    Thanks for the help

    App version 1.0.31 (1131)

    firmware 4.1.0 (2050)

Connect the key to the computer and see if it will make a connection of MSC. Once it's properly eject it and try with the app. See if USB connection problem. If they try to charge the FW. If the problem persists after that it may need to be replaced.

For videos. What is the transmission speed of the videos? The WS can only sink about 6 MB/s for a single stream. If you make 2 vapour for example everyone could do only 3 MB/s. If your video bitrate exceeds what can do the WS video will be buffer/stuttering. GoPro videos for example are too high of a flow of data flow of this device. If this is the case with your videos that will need to be converted to a lower bitrate.

  • Help with loss of video files

-Very well, he is suddenly in the water, but maybe someone had the same problem. So, I was recently taking and publishing a lot of GoPro Video on my Toshiba laptop running Windows Vista.

Now, I knew that the space on my C drive was running low, so I was going to transfer some of the videos of my d drive well as I'm editing, videos actually begin to disappear from their location of file and now all of them have disappeared (I kept the in a folder in my user > photos > GoPro). I noticed that my C drive now has lots of free space, and I can't find one of my videos. I tried to search for recent stuff but I get an error message saying: it no longer exists.
I tried a system restore, but that also becomes an error message saying that the system restarts could not complete and also I have only 1 other system restore point to an update 3 days ago.
Please help, because these videos have taken up much of my time and I would really lose them for always because of some stupid computer glitch

I gave D: information as many times it's a recovery Partition.

Download this program for free and see if he can find these missing videos.

When a file is deleted it is not actually deleted. just reference the path to it (space on it's is marked as ready to be re-used).

He is always there until it is replaced by newer files.

But the more you use this computer the least likely you are to find them.

  • Alienware 18/w 2 x GTX 980 M 8 GB problems SLI - 8 beeps and no video now detected

    Hey everybody,

    I picked up a 'is' 18 with 2 x GTX 980 m 8 GB cards discreet alienware.

When you first start up, I got the dreaded "8 beeps" and a black screen.

I did a lot of online guides, and all said that one or two video cards must be bad.

So, I opened it and removed the two cards and then tried to turn on without all video cards, which works 100% great.

I think I tried put 1 card in slot 1, and turns, but in BIOS, Manager devices, GPUz etc, the video card is not detected.

I tried the same thing with Slot 2 only and the same problem.

I also tried to reinstall just the two and I still had 8 beeps.

These video cards are worth about $500 + each, so I'd like to find a way to at least get a job if possible.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Thank you!

Both cards video with SLI cable, everything works correctly! Wow!

For all those who come to this page, here is my best explanation of what was the fix:

Remove the battery, remove the video cards, maybe reinstall OS, replace the battery so that the video cards are out, update BIOS to later restore the default BIOS settings, reinstall the video card (1 at a time).

  • Transcoding in Encore error while burning a DVD

I recently downloaded CS6 again through creative cloud and it was working fine until I tried to burn my project to a DVD. He had almost finished the bulk of the video transcoding and it stopped and gave me this error: error OSStatus = - 47. My computer (which is a MacBook Pro) also gave me a message saying that still had a problem: [/ Volumes/versions/Amawat/hand/Adobe/MediaCore/ASL/Foundation/Make/Mac /... /.. / Src/Mac/MacFil e.cpp - 1104].

The video is quite long and has been exported from Final Cut Pro X to the H.264 format.

The project that I am working for a client and should be finished soon. I already tried by raising both of these error codes and have resulted in nothing. Can someone tell me what is the problem and how it can be solved?

    > burn my project to a DVD.

    > exported from Final Cut Pro X to the H.264 format.

To have to transcode your video to make it legal to create a DVD

If the FCC has a MPEG2-DVD export option, use and import the two files (audio and video) in still

If your FCP export is 'legal' DVD, yet will not transcode to all

  • Problem: video downgrades the quality after exporting

    Hello world!

IM new and this is my first question on the forum.

Now, I created 10 succesful videos with Adobe Premiere Pro, editing Gopro videos 1080 p 60 fps.

My new video, I started using my phone Samsung Galaxy Neo S3 content.

The problem: after exporting my video, the quality of Gopro videos is like 480 p, but I still want the quality as the original, 1080 p 60 fps.

What I need to do / how can I solve this problem?

    Relevant information:

Laptop specs: Windows 10 960 M from NVIDIA, Intel core i7.

    Export format: H.264.

I tried already rendering in modes: Youtube, Vimeo 1080, Match source 1080HD high flow, I ticked the box "maximum render quality".

But nothing is done, the quality of the videos Gopro changed as 480 p after the export of the video.

    Please help me.

Although I have not any more wise, I found a solution on Youtube.

In my calendar, there is a yellow bar. I had to click "sequence" and then "render outside". Then the bar turned green.

Then I had to select the export mode: HD 1080 p 29.97 fps.

Then, as in my first picture, you can see "basic video settings".

You can scroll down here, and there is also a "fps rate" which was 30 (automatic).

I had to change at 60 frames per second. It is also recommended to check the box "made to maximum depth" in the audio and video tab.

The size of the file push double (200%), but the quality is good as it should.

I want to thank you for your efforts and help.
