GPS program

Hello, this is my first post, but I hope to learn a lot from this Council.

That's my idea:

A year ago, I was in a terrible car accident.  I had a friend in the car who died at the time.

I guess it is in order for me to try to create a device that follows your speed at road checkpoints and warns you if you are speeding.  GPS would be perfect for this action.  You can find a quick way you go and you can get the maximum speed for the road.  Now, I'm just starting to do, but I think it would be a perfect idea.  Your phone keeps track of some iteams when moving (all the time).  This would save a file that has written down: speed, maximum speed, time, date, your position and things like that.  The only thing that survived the accident (other than our body, kinda... deformed) was my Motoroala razor!  This means that cell phones can take a licking and keep on ticking...

So I would like some information to the GPS device...  If it feeds speed, it feeds the speed limit for the road you are on?

Another these two acts, I really need to start working on that.

Well well, thank you!  I intend to spend a lot of time here on this forum,

Adam Effinger

The GPS is not calculate the speed, and I think that speed limits are crazy for her.

You can calculate speed based on your location however.

Basically light location allows your GPS search of satellites in BB Maps or Google Maps or any other GPS program. If you enable location off, you're basically turn off your GPS capabiilties. Personally I have to take advantage of Google Maps and geotagging the photos I take.

  • Palm Z22 and GPS?

My son just got this Palm Z22 for me for Christmas! I've never owned a Palm before, so I'm a "Newbie Uber" . I tried to search positions, but so many returns and not quite good questions. I want to know if this Z22 has the ability to organize the windows mobile OS, as I see that is necessary in order to run a number of GPS programs. Anyone?  Thank you very much in advance!

Thank you for using the Palm help forums,

So basically you want to load Windows Mobile on the Palm OS, unfortunately it's impossible because there is no way to Flash the Rom to another OS. This would also seriously turn your gift in a brick. Now on the right to do, unfortunately using GPS on the Zire 22 would also be impossible since the program is too large and might not work properly on your device.

The Tungsten E2 and the Palm TX are much better devices to handle GPS software.

  • Z10 blackBerry information please - expire?

Hello to you members Z10. I'm sorry to encroach on your forum. But as a user Playbook that doesn't have the luxury of BB10 yet. Can someone answer a question for me?

Our Playbooks have a "time out" key that limits the screen for non-use of 5 minutes, then the screen turns off and passes the Palybook standby. Not impressive if you use a GPS program I assure you.

    However, my question is

Is there a funtion BB10 to change the "time out" screen? If so can it be 'never' expiration time?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards.

    Ross

The time-out on the Z10 is also limited to 5 minutes.

    See you soon.

  • Smartphones blackBerry 8900 curve

    Hello

I plan to buy a Smartphone. Still undecided between a Blackberry Curve 8900 and a Nokia E71X. I have a few questions:

    1. Not to mention that voice dialing, can I use my voice to other duties (provide GPS voice instructions to find an address, etc..)?
    2. When you use the desktop application, in addition to using the USB connection, I can connect the 8900 using Bluetooth or WiFi, for synchronization?
    3. The 8900 can be attached (using it as a wireless modem to connect my laptop to the Internet)?
    4. The home screen can be customized (can change icons, shortcuts, the list of applications, etc.)?
    5. The screen can change between Portrait and landscape?
    6. The GPS is a complete recommended standalone GPS, or it relies on wireless service (for example, ATT charges $10/month for the GPS service, called A - GPS)? What I mean is that I have to pay for this service, or can GPS works without him?
    7. What is the warranty for the 8900?
    8. Is the 3 8900?
    1. I'm not aware of the use of the voice to give GPS instructions. You can use voice dialing, which is where you can talk to the someone name in the address book and BlackBerry will call this number
    2. You can connect via Bluetooth and USb cable
    3. Yes. Although with some companies you need monthly extra payan to attach
      http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/KB05196
    4. You can change the theme or download themes of the device to change the appearance of the icon. You can hide the icons that you don't want anymore.
    5. In my view, that this feature is available on the storm.
    6. You do not have to pay for the GPS. If you get a BlackBerry data plan then it comes with data unlimited, so you do not download charged to use the data. There are a few good GPS programs that offer turn-by-turn directions

    7. I believe it is a guarantee of 1 year, with a 30 days money back guarantee if you buy from your carrier

    8. I think that the device only connects to the EDGE network, not 3 G

  • Program of GPS for blackBerry Smartphones

I'm a bit disappointed by the GPS function on my curve.  I was hoping that she would give turn-by-turn directions that I was driving so recalculate the route if I take a wrong turn or miss a turn.

Am I missing something with the software already installed?  It seems quite limited.

Or, is there software out there that I can download to upgrade the current program, or something new that will use only GPS hardware already in the phone?

BTW, I use Sprint if it matters.

    Thank you!

The GPS is there, it works fine. This is the mapping application, that you need.

There are several good mapping and directional programs such as TeleNav, probably the best. Garmin gives a good app for BB, but MapQuest. There are others, such as Nav4All and AmazeGPS.

  • Fully operational GPS on Satellite Pro S300 with F3507g card

    Hello

Some good news. I have the GPS works entirely on the Toshiba Satellite Pro S300 with F3507g 3 G card. I think that the measures to make operational work on any Toshiba laptop with the same card.

It requires new 3G Toshiba drivers for the card that exposes the COM7 GPS port, some trick with the COM port for the card out of the location data (this would have been done by a Toshiba application if they support the GPS), then it will work with any application that supports GPS.

I used the land bridge to verify this works and this allows tracking on Google Earth, see [image here | http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/2262/earthbridgepd2.png] (note that I blanked my exact location because it locates my front door). This signal was achieved with the laptop near a window.

What I plan to do is to make a small application to enable or disable the GPS receiver and will post some instructions on how to address all this, which is quite easy other cunning of Com port that I hope, I can make do with a small, free program.

    Concerning
