GPU upgrade questions

So I got the asus HD 7750 gpu. installed on the hp p610f computer. no problems. has crossed the calibration, so forth and so. wallpaper is wonderful. the videos are crisp. Diablo 3 (after a huge hiccup in their installer) ls works fine. Here's my problem. most of my menus of the model (ctrl + alt + del screen, start menu, menu control, on security etc. window Panel), as well as all internet screens in firefox have no color in the background. almost zero color at all. I see great black letters, a few blue lettering, but most of the colouring of the format is absent. makes it almost impossible to navigate. I'm on safari and I don't have this problem (but I'm partial to firefox and I need to power my system menu nav). . any idea what is the problem? I went through all the calibrations again and can't seem to solve the problem. I was told that the integrated graphics card could be automatically disabled once the bios has passed to pciex. Help!

solved.  somehow my contrast option high got on and I had to alt + left SHIFT + PRTSCN to turn it off.  all is well now.

    Hello everyone!

    I have a satellite A300-1 to 9 (Intel Core 2 Duo T8300, Ati 3650, lcd WXGA 1280 * 800, 2 discs hard etc.) running Windows XP + SP3 + utility Toshiba etc...

    These are my questions...

    (1) can I upgrade the CPU Core 2 Duo P8400?
(I know that T8300 and P8400 use the same socket)

    (2) can I put my screen WXGA (1280 x 800) with a WXGA + (1400 * 900) or WSXGA + (1680 * 1050)?
How will this affect the battery consumption?

    (3) having the computer plugged (a/c power), when I close the lid, the computer goes into sleep mode.
When I open the lid, the computer wakes.
Unfortunately, the computer is running on battery power is not the case... I opened the lid and nothing happens,
I have to press the power button for pc to wake up...

    can I fix?

    Thanks in advance...

Satellite A300's newest model of laptop and I wonder how you feel about this hardware upgrade after so little time to use.
In General, these upgrades are probably possible, but certainly not supported by Toshiba.
In other way such radical update as a poster of upgrade is absolutely not logical for me. You probably know how expensive these parts are.

In my opinion, should you sold your laptop and buy new with exact material you like to have.

What about the last question? Please check all settings in the control panel and make sure that you have chosen the right option when the notebook is on battery or plugged in.

  • Alienware X 51 R2 - GPU upgrade question

    Hi guys,.
I got myself confused while improving my 760 original to 970.
    I have X 51 R2 with 330w POWER supply.
    I bought this card https://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-1970-KR
but after I replaced my original GPU all I got was a blank screen after start-up. I can't access BIOS, my keyboard is not turned on, it just stays there with black white screen with no sound. I tried to use the cable VGA with DVI2VGA convertor - no luck, same result.
So I tried to put my 760 to verify there is no damage on Mo or whatnot but it starts successfully with him.

All information from that which is the cause? I've read tons of son and everybody just reported that 970 works for them without problems. Well well, not for me
What is a GPU or PSU problem? Am I missing something?

For the sake of others who may or not fallen on the same issue, I tested this GPU on different PC with the same result, which basically means it is not a problem of my Alienware or PSU but GPU so I'll send it back and wait for a warranty process.

    Thank you

So the question is which is compatible with the model and what can I do to make my computer bettter.

P.s. I've already updated the 16 GB ram, and I really don't like if I'm more do.

    Thank you
    DOCTORMAN

    Hello

To be honest, you are very limited if it comes to upgrade the hardware of s for laptop.
You have already upgraded the RAM. That s OK.

You could also switch from the HDD to the SSD. This performance of the laptop from the read and write process would be much faster. Also the laptop would be faster start and would go a lot smoother.

But to be honest, for purposes of such game pass isn't very useful.

To get better game performance, you need a better graphics card, but the fact is that the GPU upgrade isn't possible.

  • Satellite A300 GPU upgrade

    Hello world

I have Satellite A300 Hi and wonder if it is possible to change a graphics card in this laptop A300 (ATI Radeon 3400HD)?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Read here of * Toshiba Technical Support *.

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=13

As you can see, Cpu and Gpu upgrade is not a good idea. Even if your motherboard can handle it but the Bios is not pre-tested for her. In any case, you must contact the Asp (SAV), they can tell exactly whether it is supported or not.

  • HP Probook 4510 s gpu upgrade

    Hello

I am in possession of a 4510 s HP's Probook and I was wondering if I can get a gpu upgrade. His original CPU will also be upgraded to a t5870 a t9600.

But I can't find anywhere the list allowing GPU to my laptop. Is it possible to find a better GPU than the 4330 current?

Or I'm stuck with this one... some users of cell phones, that I heard that they have improved their GPU easly and they discovered all the upgrades that are supported by their laptops to service customer or something like that.

I wonderd if someone could point me in the right direction or to show me a list of compatibility of the GPU of my 4510 Probook s

    Hello:

The only way to update the video in most HP laptops is completely replace the motherboard by a listed in the service manual that might come with better graphics.

Normally such a business is not worth the time or expense.

The GPU is discrete or UMA, they both are soldered to the motherboard and cannot be removed or replaced.

  • My HP Desktop GPU upgrade

    Hello.

I'm wanting to run more graphically intensive games and want to upgrade this HP desktop computer to deal with it, until I have more money to build a custom system. My my PC model number is NY464AAR. I created a post on TomsHardware and someone who knew a good amount on HP desktop computers sent me here (link to post Forum - http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2244842/desktop-gpu-upgraded.html#13867620)

He said that only a selection bit GPU compatible with HP, and they like to "minimize" the overall scalability of their systems to make more money.

What GPU should I use in this system? My price range is $ $100 - $200 Canadian Dollars. I'll also put the low power supply 300w to 500w power to accomidate the GPU (if possible)

I was watching the 7870 AMD to supply all my gaming needs. If it is not compatible, what are? (and giving around the same performance for the money).

Is there any best GPU to play games like Arma 2 and Dayz for the same price/preformance ratio?  I don't really like what are the graphics settings, like, anything is better than what I played in with the Geforce 9100 integrated on the motherboard. My only real hope is to play 1440 x 900 and maybe 1080 p when (if) I update my monitor. But well, it'll do for now.

    Thank you very much

    Jack

    Double post.

I bought my XPS 8300 in 2011. He's been good for me over the years, but now I find that I could use a GPU upgrade. It handles most of the games, but barely meets the minimum. I'm still running Windows 7, but plan on spending at 10 at the end of the year. It has the stock power 460W Dell I have probably as well to replace it. I want the best move that will run on this system and fit in the case. It has the following specifications:

  • M18x R2 CPU/GPU upgrade help

Lately I experienced an annoying problem.  I go to play a game like age of empires III, which shouldn't be a problem, but after a few minutes, the screen goes black and the only way to make it work is to reboot by pressing the power button.  My M18xx R2 has had some problems before, so I recently replaced the discs and did a clean installation of Windows 7 Pro.   I thought that might be the GPU?

I ran stress tests on the CPU and the GPU via Support help and all this goes well.

My processor is a Core i7 3740QM and I have 2 gtx 675M popular with sli.

1 can I upgrade to GTX 680 M without worrying about updated drivers using the or overheating?  Meaning is it plug and play?

    2. What CPU can I upgrade to that would be taken and play. I do not overclock.  I thought Intel i7 3840QM.

    Thank you

Here's the Alienware-tested (read: plug-and-play) GPU upgrades for the m18xR2.

    • HD 7970 m
    • GTX 680 m

Something more recent requires some work.

I would not upgrade your CPU if you don't plan on overclocking. The i7-3840QM is a good enough in itself.

  • I have an upgrade question. I received a notification when I connected my computer to the internet that Lightroom 5.7.1 was available

I have an upgrade question. I received a notification when I connected my computer to the internet that Lightroom 5.7.1 was available had merge to HDR & Panoramic photos. I can't find these. Where can I find them.

It is unfortunate that Adobe has chosen to use the "update" in the notice inside LR 5. It is not an "update". It is an 'upgrade '. Thus, you pay if you want. Also as usual, Adobe directs clients to the CC solution and makes it hard to find perpetual license option.

  • GPU upgrade 2 GB Evga GTX 550 Ti suggestions?

I am looking to upgrade to a 970 GTX Gigabyte G1 Gaming or an EVGA if I'm looking at other brands as well.

    Budget around $350.00 USD.

I'm still doing research and research with options open but I'm really more leaning to the Nvidia 970.

My CPU is limiting the PCI-E x 16 running at 2.0 speeds, but even with that, I think that the 970 would be

the best choice in the GPU upgrade.  Thoughts or alternatives?  You want something that works long term and not just

buy something cheap, until the next thing comes.

I'm NOT a gamer I mainly webdesign so a lot of image, video and audio editing. I'm more a combination

between an advertising marketing exec and a web developer with programming in PHP, JavaScript and all back-end

stuff with databases and also web video and audio stuff etc... I just combine it all in the title of Web Designer for the conversation

who actually confuses real webdesigners because I build a LOT more than just html and css pages.

It is a type of prosumer system where it is used for work and entertainment. Watching movies and streaming video

This works well on the current computer and I actually don't really need more of an upgrade beyond the GPU as this computer

It meets my needs and has 2 years.  I expect to keep for a few years, I have built computers that will last

me 3 to 5 years, will eventually build a new, but for now everything works great.

I honestly don't care about having the biggest and best just something that will work for more than a year or two and meet my needs.

But it seems that the GPU tech is going through a revolution where the old technology begins to be depreciated and will not be taken in charge a large part

in the future I am looking to get a new video card might as well go with the new stuff now so it will be supported in the long term

    everyone at some point.

I'm just confused by models and manufacturers or resellers who slap their label on Nvidia technology.  Who is the best with little no.

problems.  EVGA seems to be popular, it's my current card brand, but I like the Gigabyte G1 with additional display ports and

possibility of having 4 monitors at the same time IF it can be inserted into my system, it's HUGE.

    -------------------------

    Hardware specifications:

PSU: VisionTek 800W < == will be upgrade to a 750 or 850-Watt Seasonic, Antec or Evga also.

    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2PV ver 2.0

CPU: Intel CPU i7-2600 @ 3.40 GHz Stock using stock intel cooler fan

HD: 3 x - 1 to disk WD Blue and two black discs

    Memory: 16 GB Ram 2 x - 8 GB memory-crucial

The blue drive is the system drive to the approximately 700 GB of the disk format and divided in two with

Windows 7 64 bit Pro and 8.1 of Windows in dual boot.  No SSD not because of the MOBO only being 3 GB and not 6.

It was custom built by a store of the local computer that is off from where go out of business.

The upgrade of processor or motherboard is NOT an option that some purchased software is old school licensed

with attached directly to the CPU and the MOBO that cost more than the entire computer to buy

licenses (not associated with Adobe Professional software).  In addition the upgrade MOBO or CPU, you are required to

Microsoft to buy a new license for windows and windows 7 can probably just reactivated windows 8 can not.

This motherboard is a motherboard micro, I didn't know that until recently. I did not build the computer myself.

I had no idea of what food was until a few days ago, but everything worked 100% for about 2 years.

I'll have to update the bios of the motherboard before actually being able to use the new video card, but others have the same model

and it seems to work as well... I have a request to Gigabyte but just to check before actually buying.

Remember though it is a Ti 550 video card I currently have and almost any update would see great improvement.

Physical size wise how much greater is the 970 compared to 550 it 2 GB Evga gtx?   I add 2 GB because it

are other 550 which are totally different aspect that my card.

Also if you have any suggestions for the PSU that would be much too.   So far Seasonic, Antec and EVGA are brands that seem to

forthcoming models much earlier.  Not sure about the rating as some out Bronze models perform other models gold or Platinum so...

Budget about $150.00 USD for a new power supply too.

Thanks for reading this and for any suggestion, sorry that I can't upgrade mobo or cpu to be able to run amok with ideas, it is some what may be limiting.

Essentially, it's the GPU and PSU will extend my current level of use of a few years and the GPU has better performance even with

the other tech and bottlenecks in this particular system.

Like Bob of the Peru said. The money you would have spent on a GTX 970 would have been much larger than any improvement in performance that you could achieve (on a systemic basis, not only a specific component). In fact, the cost of a single GTX 970 would have been almost as much money as the rest of your entire system combined - and yet, the upgrade provides more than an improvement of 5 to 10 percent in terms of total return.

Very recently, I upgraded an i7 - 3770K and Z77 to an i7 - 4790K and Z97. Mainly because I wanted to spend my project/player and cache drive to SSD (s) in the not too distant future. (The Z77 supports two SATA 6.0 Gbps ports and 4 SATA ports 3.0 Gbps in native mode, which is the impetus for this upgrade). But in order to take account of the upgrade of the CPU, I had to get off my GPU slightly to a 660 GTX for a GTX 750 Ti (for my particular workflow, GTX 750 it performed almost as well as the GPU high-end in terms of overall performance of the system).

That said, there are reasons to move a GPU for a GPU to budget (or even ultra-low-budget, for that matter) to a 'Warrior' or the 'monster' GPU. But improving rendering performance on such a limited as LGA 1155 Sandy Bridge platform is not one of them. And a GPU upgrade is valid IMHO only if the rest of the construction of PC is to speed - with a much higher total system start-up costs.

Moreover, a single 1 TB WD black or blue (versions WD10EZEX and WD1003FZEX, respectively) may not achieve the best 180 - ish MB/sec - and it's on the outside tracks of his tray. A HDD WD four-year-old (Blue WD10EALS or Black WD1002FAEX) at 7200 RPM have barely hit 125 MB/s on the outside rails. As such, with disks one alone, I agree with the other responses: remember to save it upward to an i7-4790 a W97 chipsets motherboard instead of lose a single penny on this generation i7-2600/H61 (your current system, by the way, is completely maxed out on RAM to only 16 GB total - and you can not pass the RAM any more far away).

In other words, your current PC is, indeed, obsolete (as in "cancelled" or 'is there something better now in this category', not ' is no longer useful or usable").

  • XPS 8300 GPU upgrade with parts question

    Hey all,.

I'm looking to upgrade my GPU without having to touch my food or any other room in my XPS 8300. I am running with processor i5 to 3.00 GHz, 16 GB RAM and 1 TB harddrive (from what I remember off the top of my head since I'm at work). I read in many places that GTX 750 it would be a fine upgrade without having a problem of PSU or of the motherboard, but before buying, I thought I would ask if everything would be fine without compatibility issues. The link here is the card I have planned to go with, but wanted to know if there is all the more powerful cards out there that I can possibly use. I always use my AMD HD 5450 stock card that's why I'm planning an upgrade. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Mac Pro CPU and GPU upgrades

Hello, I am looking to buy a Mac Pro 2008 and had a few questions. 1. I found I can pass of say a 2 X 2.80 GHz 2 x 3.0 GHz CPU, but I looked up a few processors (from my MacBook Air i5 2013) and one very well like i5 Core 6600 k in guides and found compared to my only MacBook, it is barely faster , but compared to the 6600 k, is pretty lame. So I would like to know if I can put a more modern, faster CPU in the Mac Pro. 2. I saw you pass GPU also through multiple models of Mac Pro, but a similar question, wondering if I can swap in a GPU more modern. I'd be by accepting a list of compatible CPU / GPU if it works.

    Thank you!
