Group Policy for a desktop display

I'm looking for a way to stop the ball of Activation of Windows, whenever you connect to a cloned desktop computer

Any information would be helpful

Hello

You cannot use a MAK key to deploy the related clones. You will need to install a KMS server and activate this way so that the user never has to get popups and things.

Best practice is to use KMS.

Configuration is easy just use google

Check out my blog on vmblog.co.za I have 2 articles on explaining this.

    Hello

I used the Windows Server 2008 Group Policy to create network drive mappings. This works for most, but on some accounts, it caused the computer folder is empty.
For example, the folder of the computer used to have my C drive, my drive DVDROM, my USB and some network drives. Now his absolutely empty.
If I click on start and type in C: it correctly to the my C drive and shows all records.
If I put in a UNC path, it will correctly here.

  • How to change group policy for the system restore will create restore point

I recently installed an SSD with windows 7, it's the default OS and hard drive on a system dual boot. I also have my old HHD with windows vista home premium. I had problems using the restore of the system with the SSD drive and read on a forum that the restoration of the system causes problems when it is used on an SSD. I have disable restoring the system to the SSD, but still he had checked to allow restoration on the vista disk and a 500 GB drive, I have use for storage.

I managed to create a restore point when you are using windows 7 OS, but when I used my vista drive, and wanted to create additional restore points for two HHD disks, it does not allow the creation of restore points by group policy settings. I regularly create restore for the SSD disk and have created one for the HHD Vista since the system restore does not create additional restore points now.

How can I change my group policy settings to enable restore points to create the disk under Vista. I don't remember changing anything that might have caused it, is there a chance that a horse of Trojan or virus caused this? I have Webroot antivirus and currently aired Kaspersky Anti-virus on Vista drive. I also ran the Microsoft safety scanner in safe mode and normal startup mode, none of the virus scanners have found problems, so I'm pretty sure I don't have a Trojan or a virus.

To the point, how to make appropriate changes to allow the restoration of the system to work for my two HHD disks.  Better yet is there a way to restore completely all original windows default system settings without having to do a clean reinstall.

You can provide any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hello

You receive an error message when creating a new system for Windows vista restore point?

    Using the Group Policy Editor

If your edition of Windows Vista includes the Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) snap-in,

    Follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type gpedit.msc and press ENTER
    2. go to the following branch: Computer Configuration | Administrative templates | System | System restore
    3. double click on disable the Configuration and set it to not configured.
Note: If the above setting is already set to not configured, set it to "Enabled" and click on apply. Return back the setting to not configured, then click on apply, OK.
    4. exit the Group Policy Editor.

If using the Group Policy Editor do not fix the problem, try the registry fix from the following.

Note: Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

How to back up and restore the registry in Windows

    Using the registry editor

    3. in the right pane, delete the value named DisableConfig
    4. exit the registry editor.

  • option to Editor local group policy for the administrator account on Windows 7

I have an administrator account I want to restrict in some respects. I know that this can be done via local group policy. So, I need:

    1. Installation of new programs require an admin password.

    2. Some programs (that I choose) run without admin password.

    3. Held together under one account, without comments, accounts of users or lower privileges.

No idea how to do it?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the problem you had to restrict access to some programs using the local Group Policy Editor. The Local Group Policy Editor is a snap Microsoft Management Console (MMC) that provides a single user interface through which all the settings of local Group Policy objects can be managed.

I suggest you to return the article mentioned below and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

  • Deployment of group policy for MSI

I'm looking for assistance from anyone who has deployed successfully to close via Group Policy. I saw a shape whose oldest he question to set a few pointers on a batch file, but this only works if the user has rights to install. I am looking to complete the deployment through MSI installation of Group Policy (similar to Jabber) native capacity.

If you want to install by the user and can provide goods MSI on the installation in any way, you can use MSI transformations. It is an a little horrible process. If you have a control on the Setup command line, you can perform an installation by user with progress indicator using for example

    msiexec /qb! /i Proximity.msi ALLUSERS=2 MSIINSTALLPERUSER=1
To do this using transformations of MSI, you need to install orca (Orca.msi bundles with the Windows SDK) and open Proximity.msi, change the ALLUSERS and MSIINSTALLPERUSER properties and save again. If you want to do this, I made a transformation with the published properties file. HOWTO:
    1. Open Proximity.msi in Orca
    2. At the options screen-> database and check «copy integrated workflow [...]» (see screenshot in archive attached)
    3. Apply the transformation (in the archive attached)
    4. Use ' save transformed under... ". "to save the new file.
This new file will install as the installing user even when installing without a GUI.
So to summarize, MSI is hard to work with for both developers and end users. If you find a simpler solution without moving to a more powerful tool than GPO, we'd really love to hear it!

  • How to configure firefox for deployment without group policy

I need to find a solution to add a location of CIP to the proxy but also to set the home page. I guess there is a preferences file in a location that I can modify and put all those who have the FF, but I was not able to find it.

  • ASA political anyconnect and default group policy

    Hello world

ASA is configured with anyconnect tunnel group and anyconnect group policy.

    AnyConnect group policy for

in ASDM to allow concurrent connections box inherit

timeout in ASDM watch checkmark on inherit

By default of exhibitions in political group or system default

    simultaneous connections show 3

    timeout idlle shows 30 mins

Need to understand that when we create anyconnect group policy and we click on inherit means it will take the value of this field of

    default group policy?

As above default group policy also indicates that it has simultaneous connections for 3 and if I change to 2 concurrent connections in anyconnect group policy

then the Group anyconnect policy will take precedence over the default group policy?

The default system policy also shows idle time-out of 30 minutes that means it disconnects the anyconnect session after 30 minutes?

    Concerning

    Mahesh

You're right about the strategy of group by default. If you assign a simultaneous connection of different to your group policy for the anyconnect profile these settings will override default group policy. Any changes of setting that explicitly to any group policy on the system replaces what has configured the default group policy.

  • To configure Group policy so that after 5 invalid logon attempts computer display an error message indicating that the account is locked out for 30 minutes

Original title: function or Vulneralbility? [Lock Group Policy]

    Hello world

I have Windows XP Service Pack 3 with automatic updates turned on and the protection in real time against malware.

I use Group Policy to configure for my computer account lockout policy, indicating that the account is locked by 30 minutes after 5 invalid connection attempts. I also use the TweakUI Autologon feature. (you can ask why the account lockout is necessary when automatic login is turned on?) Hold on...). Please also note that the feature of quick change of user on my PC is off, too. (but I still use the Welcome screen)

So, when I have already connected, press Win + L to lock my workstation. Now, I begin to grasp things at random to be used as password. So that after a few failed attempts, the system displays: "cannot open a session because your account is locked. Please contact administrator.

However, when I entered the correct password now, the system will always connect.

I don't know if this is a feature of Microsoft Windows or a vulneralbility.

More information: my computer is NOT a part of a domain, it belongs to the "MSHOME" workgroup and has file and printer sharing.

    Any help is appreciated.
