Hate it that every website I visit ends on the tab page - I want to only certain sites out there. How to do this?

See the question. I have no problem adding the sites I want to add - but I don't want adds automatically from Web sites. How can I stop this?

The page is designed based on your history (frequently/recently used sites); I don't think that there is a way to turn off this feature. For the boxes that you don't assign it to specific sites (either by pinning or dragging a bookmark), Firefox uses history. If you want these extra boxes to be "blocked" as an employee, you can assign a placeholder page for now.
