have the latest version of flash, but...

I constantly get redirected to a web page asking me to update Adobe flash.  I have two computers that are both Windows 7 and they all have both the latest version of Flash installed.  Both IE and Chrome are updated for current versions.

I uninstalled and reinstalled flash on both computers.   I ran scans in safemode, looking for issuance of malware using the following programs: malwayrebytes, bitdefender, emsisoft antimalware & adwcleaner and they don't find anything.  Here is a screenshot while watching an article in USA Today.

I have installed 17.0.0.169 Version.

Any suggestions?  If I reload or refresh the page, sometimes the correct Web page appears.

Hi Joseph,.

It took a while, but I finally solved my problem.  I got a port on my Asus router for a home IP cameras (what I thought was assured).   I came across this thread: The Moon Worm - infected home routers - shows Fake 'Adobe Flash critical update required' Message

and once I blocked outside access to my router, the problem disappeared.  My router is not listed as an attack, but it seems to really have been the problem.

I just wanted to day and thank you for your help.

  • Adobe Flash Player 18.0.0.194 is installed, but the plugin check, it says that adobe Flash 17.0.9.18 is exceeded, even if I have the latest version of Flash.

I have a bit of a problem that does not appear on another computer. I am running Windows 7 and on one of my computers in the office and it is visible in Mozilla Firefox Adobe Flash played being updated and overwhelmed at the same time. I have the latest installed flash player which is 18.0.0.194, but it is still announcing Adobe Flash Player 17.0.9.18 and says that it is obsolete. I checked my system with a few technicians as well and it is very clear that only Flash Player 18.0.0.194 is installed on my system for Internet Explorer and Firefox. We are at loss as to what is happening or why it shows this error. I don't even have Adobe Flash 17.0.9.18 installed on the system. With the computer always upward in the shop, after a week and make a ton of search in the forums, that we are all at a loss of what is happening. We tried to uninstall Firefox and reinstalling and that did not help. We also tried to uninstall Adobe Flash and reinstall a new version of it as well. None of them is the problem. Firefox reset as well didn't help either. Being that this happens only on one computer I think it's a very strange situation. Y at - there anyone out there who has an idea of what is happening and how to fix or is really something that can't be fixed? There is no virus on the system. Yes, I tried the update through the update button as well as trying to go directly to the site Adobe itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I just thought about it all now, but I still want to thank you for your help. You'll love the answer too. I was literally looking at the plugin page and I saw 17.0.9.18 and I arrived just to scroll to the bottom of the page where he showed another application like 17.0.9.18. Guess what he listed as. Real Player. I uninstalled Real Player cloud of programs and it solved the problem. The problem is that stupid little icon appears as Adobe Flash up and in fact what we really know that for 17.0.9.18 is true cloud player. Boy, heaven's to betsy, if anyone out there has the problem I did I sure as hell hope it helps you too. Thanks again for your help. I use no loss anyway so no Real big Player cloud for me. XD

  • I have the latest version of Firefox, but I always ask me to upgrade to the latest version.

I have windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I have Firefox 12.0 installed and have re-installed twice in the last week. I always get the prompt to upgrade, even here on the Mozilla site. I don't know what else to do?

Hello butch864, it seems that something is leading your user agent (the bit that identifies the browser and its version) and makes it appear as if you are still using firefox 3.0.11. Please try to reset all parameters of useragent as described here and see if this helps: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/websites-say-firefox-outdated-or-incompatible#w_other-causes

    Hi James Goldberg,.

I recommend you install it using your administrator account on your system or right-click on the configuration file and choose "Run as Administrator".

  • Why sovereign funds on my hard drive do not use the latest version of Flash Player?

I've looked everywhere and I don't know why no one seems to be talking about this.

When I view a SWF in a browser it uses Flash Player 11.6, but when I view a SWF file on my HDD it uses Flash Player 10. Why is this? It's driving me crazy.

    Untitled-1.jpg

I already know that Chrome uses several different Flash players. One of them is the built-in Flash Player and the other is the 'system' Flash Player. I assumed that the Flash Player system is one that is running when I opened the SWF file on my hard drive, but this is clearly not the case. I tried to uninstall Flash Player and I could always open the SWF file on my hard drive and they always said Flash Player 10. What happens here? How many players Flash do I? Looks like there is a Flash of Chrome's built-in drive, a system of Flash Player AND a Flash Player that is used for the execution of the SWF file on my hard drive.

I am running Windows XP and I have the latest version of Flash Player. I know because I was installing it again and again trying to solve this problem.

The standalone version of Flash Player (projector) is not updated with the Flash Player browser add-ons; You must download the latest standalone player manually http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

No, IE uses its own version of ActiveX of Flash plugin and that version will stay at the 11.3.300.257

I have the latest version of firefox installed, but I'm constantly messages it exceeded - on the Mozilla site as well as many others.

I've removed almost all of my plugins and extensions (and updated those I use - although the Moz update your plugings page seems to have problems with Shockwave Flash as well)... and I still get the error.

The only thing I can think is that I was somehow too aggressive with my banning noscript.

Thanks, reset the user agent according to the article seems to have resolved.

  • How can I get Firefox 4 to recognize that I have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player

Firefox 4 refuses to play video clips. I get a box telling me that I have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. I just downloaded 10.3 and is yet to play video clips.

You do not have Flash installed for Firefox. If you did you would see "Shockwave Flash (version number)" under modules > Plugins. You can see the Plugins reported with your question; Click on 'more system info... '. "to the right of your original question.

There are 2 versions of Flash, a single IE (ActiveX version) and for most other browsers like Firefox (plug-in version). You must update each individually.

    To install or update Flash:

    1. using Firefox download and save Flash from this link (save to your desktop; easier for you to find): get.adobe.com/flashplayer
    2. When the download is complete, close Firefox (click Firefox > exit OR file > exit, if you use the Menu bar)
    3. Click or double-click the file that you just downloaded
    4. on the left side of the installation window, place a check in the box "I have read and agree."
    5. Click the Install button at the bottom right of the installation window. It comes on after you put the check mark in the previous step
    6. Let the complete installation; It's fast
    7. using Firefox to test your installation of Flash here: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
    8. for IE, repeat the process, but use IE to go to the site in step 1.

  • Why can not install the latest version of Flash, when I already have the oldest?

My antivirus software is disabled. Currently, I have Flash on my computer. In the troubleshooting page, I see clouds in the picture so I know that my current flash works.  I went into internet settings for modules and flash is currently enabled.  Why can't I install the latest version of Flash? I tried to run it and save option and it has not always worked. I can see the installer in my downloads folder. But all I get is a black box of vacuum that does nothing. What else can I try to get the installer to install the updated flash version?
