But every time I open Firefox, it is just too big for my screen as described above. Uninstalled and reinstalled firefox and was no help at all. Always do the same thing now, so I uninstalled again. I love firefox and never use another browser.

  As far as I KNOW Firefox displays the metric or Imperial depending on the type of paper selected for printing. If you are using A4, you should get millimeters/metric.
