I have copy of old tbird and seamonkey e-mail files with the files and emails for each. I need to add to new tbird install. can not find a way to do it. I did a system restore to run today. He had updated 8 minutes before all this happened, but I couldn't say what update caused this. It's important, so I guess that vista. All of my Web site and software adobe software for forms and emails, files, photos, everything disappeared as if today, I bought the computer Office exccept was there, but empty. I have even been asked to set up an e-mail account. I don't know how it happened with an update and cannot lose another day to such a waste of time. I work and am finishing my doctorate so the stability of my work being it is quite serious. How this happened and how can I keep it doesn't happen. I backup to carbonite.com and have now checked, contacts, emails by the intermediary of today and all the files, but it's scarYYYYY! I was never warned or the ability to restart or given in error messages.

Are you referring to (files, emails, contacts and other programs) shortcuts on the desktop?
When updates are installed on the computer it says system files, this process of service not Microsoft that are running in the background can conflict with updates and tour damage the system settings.
This problem can also occur if system files are corrupt.
Try the following in order to recover the desktop icons.
Even though the desktop icons disappear, the programs are still installed on computer you can launch them.
Method 1:
Ø, right click on the desktop
O select view
Ø, click show the desktop icons
Method 2: Click the Start button > select programs > verify if all the programs installed on the computer display > try to start or right click on the program and Select create a shortcut
Check the updates that triggered this question go by the date.
1. Click for Start > Control Panel > Classic view > Windows Update.
2. along the top, click view update history.
Before you install updates, follow the precautionary steps listed below.
Step 1: Disable the security software on the taskbar
Note: Activate security software once theupdates are installed.
Step 2: Disconnect external devices like printer and scanner, except the mouse, keyboard, and internet connection.
Step 3: The clean boot computer:- Perform a clean boot (check step 1 in the link)

Important: n ' forget not to put the computer to a normal startup after you install updates. Follow step 7 in the link.
Try to install updates via windows update or you can also download and install the updates manually by accessing the Microsoft Web site.
Data backup on the computer
You can use backup and Restore Center integrated in the operating system to back up data.

My computer crashed and now my files and saved emails went to outlook express.
so, my computer crashed and now all my info stored in outlook express, such as e-mail and records have disappeared. I had done a backup of my documents before the computer has crashed on a portable hard drive, files and emails to be there? I looked in the application data folder and it's not an identity, as I am running windows xp. I desperately NEED recover these files and emails, someone please HELP!

When your computer has crashed, records Outlook could corrupt. We recommend that you use Inbox Repair Tool to recover folders and emails in Outlook.

How to generate a Word document and a PDF file of help files?

I'm new to RoboHelp HTML and uses version 8. I've updated some help files, and now I want to generate the output. Here are my questions / or the process that I used:
- To compile the help, I clicked on generate a main page layout. Is this correct? I noticed that the stamp on the xpj file has not changed. The date is still many months. (Why is this? Must show a recent update date?) However, the files that I've updated reflect the dates when I did the updates. It comes to files art, a high hydrostatic pressure and htm, js, ldb, pss, DPC files.
- To generate a pdf file, I clicked on Generate PDF. I was not able to generate the PDF file first, but then I enabled macros in Word 2007 (Trust Center settings > enable all macros.. .and clicked on the checkbox, approved access to the VBA project object model) and you click on Generate the PDF. At the end of the generation, I got this error in Word: Microsoft Office Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. The news that you were working may be lost. Word can try to recover it for you. I closed the Word and dialog box generated several blank documents. Microsoft Office Diagnostics was performed and found a problem and fixes it. Despite the error message was generated a pdf file. (If you could give me any idea on why I got error messages, which could be useful to know).

Welcome to the forum.
I would suggest a different workflow.
When you select generate a main page layout, RoboHelp did this according to the settings in all that is attached to your main layout. Better at least first double-click the page layout so that you see the settings and can make a difference to the way you want. After that, you can use generate a main page layout if you want, but I'd rather go through the layout itself and check the settings.
The XPJ file changes only when certain things should be recorded in it and it's not every time that you are working on the project. In other words, don't worry about the date of the file.
Now for the PDF. Again not the best place to start and still better to go of the provision itself. You can try to simply generate a PDF file, but many users prefer to create a Word document and make some changes in that. It can just be put page breaks to improve appearance, it may be more, it's your call. Once the Word document is good, generate the PDF from there.
You will find the page layouts, that I want to talk in the pod of single Source Layouts. View > pods.

Cannot display help file first 10 items or export
I have just upgradef of the first Elements 7 for the first 10 elements. I am unable, but to display help files and I also cannot export my video ('export' is grayed out). When I click on help (and alos F1), all I get is a license agreement for Adobe Air. When I agree to that, the window closes and nothing happens. Help!
I've been busy and am just getting back to this thread. The problem has just been solved and it was caused by Adobe Air.
(Caution - I won't get into a mug shot!) After dealing with this during so long, I contacted Adobe Technical Support only to be connected to someone in INDIA (I find REALLY CHOQUANT that Americans are not engaged to provide technical support). As is typical during the call to INDIA, it takes about 3 or 4 times more than if an American provides technical support. I had to constantly ask the guy to repeat that I could not go beyond his accent. Practically, he wanted uninstall me everything (I did NOT)-including programs that I don't have on my system!
Finally, after being placed on hold, it had me create another user account, and then open first items 10 by using the new account. And the help files have worked. Then the guy tried to make me download help files in pdf format (which means that they are not accessible from the program to the regular account. The clown then tried to tell me that "they would still be accessible anytime I wanted to see ' (so much for the argument that placing on the Internet help files allows to guarantee that you have the latest information). This idea, of course, was absurd.
In the meantime, I had connected to my computer - using my regular account, opens first 10 Elements, and surprise, surprise - help files now appear. Thus, the solution to this problem (at least for me) was the following:
1. uninstall Adobe Air (uninstalling, then reinstalling, in itself, does NOT solve the problem).
2. create a new user account on your computer at home,
3. open Premiere Elements in the new account,
4. see if the help file appears,
5. close the session, then back to your regular account,.
6. open Premiere Elements, and check to see if the help files see toward the top (mine did).
7. uninstall the new user account
Yet once, simply uninstall Adobe Air, restarting the computer and open Adobe Premiere of your regular account does NOT solve the problem.
Finally, the problem is now resolved. I remains VERY IRRITATED at the refusal of Adobe to hire Americans and let their customers to waddle through the nightmare of outsourcing in India.

The ability to differentiate the Pro help files
We seek to use the RoboOffice X 6 Pro to publish the help files on a server, but have a bit of a lack of knowledge which I hope some of you people will be able to butcher. We have about 20 support product files for the different products that we have published on our server. So far so good.
Our understanding is that the HR Pro reports do not distinguish between the various help files. In other words, if a user is looking for a help file help topic has and it is not found, an account of this attempt is recorded in the engine. If another user search a help topic in the help file B, and it is not found, an account of this attempt is also recorded in the engine. However, when the report is run, the two attempts are reported, but he is unable to tell the difference between the two help files.
This hypothesis is correct? If so, the only way around this would be to buy multiple licenses for each help file and publish them in different places?As suggested by ChetZeshonski, Adobe RoboHelp Server 6 acts in the same way. A separate database (requiring a separate license) would be required to obtain separate reports. Here's a technical Note which goes into a little more detail.

Deletion of old files and assets
Hello. I have tons of graphics files and also some HTML files, which are no longer in use. In other words, they are not linked to any page. Is there a way to clean these? For example, there is a designation on file in files mode icons, that tells me what are 'active' files and are not?
I've looked in the help files and did a search, but nothing came.

fixed broken links.Then, change the drop down menu in the results panel to "view the orphaned files.
The files listed are those who have no links to them that dw includes.
You can use the Remove button to send them to the trash.
Re-create the site cache, then do it again.--

It is not broken, just confused. The recipient must save the file and open it in Adobe Reader. Your e-mail application is not using Adobe Reader.

Windoxs XP - Outlook Express 6 does not display files or emails, can anyone help please?
Please can someone help me use Widows XP and Outlook Express 6.0 and Monday when I opened Outlook Express missing all folders and emails. The toolbar appears at the top and at the bottom of the screen in the gray bar, he tells me how much emails is in my Inbox and how many unread emails but I can't see or access.
Records that are normally displayed at the bottom of the left side of the screen is absent all e-mails are missing, the name, issue date headers are also missing as well as all the scroll bars, the majority of the screen is blank.
I have been using Talk Talk since 2009, but now if I hit send and receive, I get an error message, the most recent is Ox800ccc92. I would be very grateful if someone could help as Talk Talk could not.
