Help secure a PDF form.

I created a PDF file in Acrobat X Pro and he embarked on a Web site. Everything works fine, however when I receive the form that a user has filled out, I'm able to edit their data. Is there a way to protect the form so once the user returns their data are secure and cannot be changed by the recipient?

If you treat them to browse a web page by script, it is possible to 'flatten' the fields of PDF form and content so that they are not easily editable in the form of form fields.

You could also use a field Signature for fields of locking when the PDF form is signed or use a script for the action to submit to lock the fields until the PDF is submitted.

  • Change a secure interactive PDF form without regenerating the form?

    I have a client who needs for me to make a minor change to a form of the PDF in interactive of passwords, that we have created for her. I have the password, of course, but Adobe Acrobat let me know the password without first saving the form as a copy. This, however, strips all the interactivity of the form. I don't want to have to redo all the fields to make this minor change, and I guess that I missed the obvious method to enter the password.

    So, how to disable the password without wipe interactive fields so that I can make the change then save the form again with intact security and interactive form fields?

    Save as copy, edit the PDF file, then extend features in Adobe Reader (under Advanced) all your form fields should reappear.

    I have a form that has two parameters of the required fields of the digital signature, one for the employee and the other is for their supervisor.  Is it possible to make a section of the PDF which has calculations in it, read-only after that they sign and send it to their supervisor?

    Yes, it is an option in the signing tab of the field of the digital signature Properties dialog box. It allows you to select the fields to read-only value when the signature field is signed.

  • Help!  Can I add an additional field to an existing PDF form?

    I have an existing PDF I created from a Word Doc and have made this PDF file in a form with many drop-down list fields, specially formatted fields, fields, ect.

    Now I need to add another field of this form (i.e. a table "office use only"), however I don't want to do it in the Word Doc, convert to PDF and then having to recreate the PDF form from scratch, I did a huge amount of work, the creation of all fields in the form.

    Is there a way I can make the necessary changes to my Word Doc, covert, he to a new PDF and then merge to my existing PDF, while keeping all the form fields is just to add an additional field that and as I can then turn it into form fields?

    I already tried - to create the table in Word, print screen, save it in JPEG format and insert into my existing PDF.  The picture is not as crispy as it should be and looks like a ' add to ' I don't really want to.

    The table I want to insert has formatting special meets a company style guide, so I really need to create it in Word to keep the required formatting.

    HELP PLEASE!

    Hi jlgrobbelaar,

    Yes, you can use the Replace Pages to keep all the form fields and scripts, as they are now in your original PDF.  Here is a tutorial on the use of Pages - replace

    https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-to-replace-the-background-pages-in-a-PDF-form

    If you add your new field/area to the form results in changes of layout for the form then you may need to move the fields in place, but it's better than having to add everywhere.

    Hope this helps,

  • Can you help me to insert a JAVA script into an Adobe PDF form I created.

    I have never programmed in Java and need a Java script to insert in a calculation field in an Adobe PDF form that I created using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.  This form will be the one that can be filled on the PC or printed and filled out manually.  The calculated field will display a zero unwanted when printing and I want it to be empty.  Another field will be a calculated percentage and displays an error when there is no divider; a similar problem, I want to be a Virgin and the person filing the form manually to calculate the field and write.  I don't have time to learn

    The Excel formula would be: If (Cell_1A = "", "", Cell_1A + Cell_1B)

    What would be the JAVA script in a dialog box "Simplified field Notation" or "custom calculation Script?

    Both of these things require a custom calculation. For the script of the division, you can use something like this:

    var a = Number(this.getField("Field A").value);
    var b = Number(this.getField("Field B").value);
    if (b==0) event.value = "";
    else event.value = a/b;

    For the conditional script, you can use this:

    var a = this.getField("Cell_1A").valueAsString;
    var b = this.getField("Cell_1B").valueAsString;
    if (a=="") event.value = "";
    else event.value = Number(a)+Number(b);

    _ Digital Signature___ (signs), Date (Auto-remplit)

    Under field properties of the signature on the signature tab, you can use a custom script, like this:

    this.getField("Date").value = util.printd ("mm/dd/yyyy", new Date());

    You know, however, that a digital signature always displays the date and time, it has been applied?

  • I have a form downloaded, and when I try to fill the spaces I can't. The form is scanned by HP printer. I think it's the pdf form. How to fill in the blanks?

    I scanned a form and when I open it with Microsoft Works word processor processor, I can't fill in the information. It scanned on a HP printer scanner and it appears as a tiff document, but I can't complete the informatim.

    Hello

    TIFF format means "Tagged Image File Format" you can not change or fill in the text in this format. I suggest you download the. PDF form once again and then fill out the form and save it and then parse the file to TIFF.

    Alternatively, you can try to convert the file to TIFF to word. I suggest you to search Tiff converter for word online and try to convert.

  • Get the text of a pdf form to fill in Illustrator layers

    Hi all

    OK, here's the thing. I have some PDF forms with multiple lines and columns and the information in them. I need to take this information and place Illustrator layered on a file. I've seen examples here accomplished that, with Excel files, but is there a way to do it from a PDF form? I use CS6 and Javascript.

    I appreciate any help you can provide me.

    Kind regards

    If you are in the export of files and to analyze text manually and forms are conducive to this, you can try to export data to PDF form as xml or .fdf (?) file, those who provide a text of these data document.

  • Display PDF forms with black background

    I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and I use Acrobat Pro 9.5.5. Now my downloaded pdf forms that can be completed online or after the backup are evidence of a black background and all the data I find is barely visible.  Usually, the background is white and the data are blue. In addition, the fonts are blurry. I tried to repair the installation of Acrobat and it did not help. Any suggestions?

    Acrobat 9 is not compatible with Windows 10, so problems are to be expected.

    For best results, you must use Acrobat XI or DC.

  • Text no autosize in PDF form

    Hello

    I use Acrobat Reader for Macintosh to fill out a PDF form for a University assignment. On previous assignments, I was able to type in a form field, and the text would be autoshrink to account for the size of the field that I completed my answers. Now, when I type to fill in the field of the custom of text autosize and I am limited to the size of the field with the default font size.  A previous posting, I had problems of edition and I think that maybe I changed a parameter while I was trying to solve the problems, but for the life of me I can't find anyway to restore the functionality of automatic resizing. What I've read on other issues on the Acrobat forums, the characteristics of the fields are locked by the creator of the PDF, but the file is part of the same workbook that we used all the semester so that leads me to believe that maybe I changed a parameter along the way to kill the automatic resizing! Any help is appreciated because at this point, many of the fields are too small for me adapt the required responses in!

    Thank you

  • PDF form: error message on the button to submit the form

    Hi all

    Has joined the forum late last night (late midnight) and I am so grateful for the quick response from many of you

    the questions on the forms PDF which gave me mouth hanging open.

    Here are my recent puzzle:
    Why I get a "this operation is not allowed" when I have my button submit the test form?

    I'm after a video from You Tube to the T:

    All properties > Actions > Mouse Up > Sumbit form > Add: mailto: [email protected] > PDF of the entire Document > OK
    Then I'm saving the document with the new version, opening name to the test drive since my clients will not have Acrobat Pro.

    and several times, continue to receive the error message. And the strange thing is that on previous versions, I'm sure I had it working

    properly at a given time.

    Any help much appreciated.

    It will do when you use a version of the player before 11 reader if the document is not compatible drive. When you send the complete PDF file, it should be saved first, something only 10 player and front normally cannot do. Acrobat and Reader 11/DC do not have this restriction, so that they are able to submit complete PDF forms that have not been activated drive.
