  Forgive my ignorance, but nobody knows how to bind a radio button to a text field in an Acrobat pdf form?

  I have a series of 4 radio buttons. If you click on one of them, I want to activate a text field then you will need to fill out. In addition, it would be good to have if you do not click on the radio button you are able to fill the text box.

  You might want to look at hiding and showing form fields by Thom Parker. You can also clear the text field when the radio button is changed.

  Right-click on the field > use current properties as new default.

  It will keep the new settings until the next time that you do this. It is not specific to the document. Do it separately for each field type (text, button, etc.)

  

  On an existing form, you can select multiple fields. A pro tip, is that you don't have to close the properties to move from the field to the field to the field. Dungeon opens and work faster.

  Hi all!

  First time poster and getting quite frustrated trying to understand this issue. Here's the scenario: I use Acrobat Pro 10 to create what is essentially a form of giant order. I have designed the document in InDesign, defined the various buttons and other whatnot and then it exported to Acrobat to continue the construction of the form.

  I have a radio button group called 'conference_opportunities' that contains different options at different prices, so they are all the same, but have different values (so that they belong to the same group and only one can be selected at a time).

  What I've done is created a 'MouseDown' event on the button that sets a variable called 'ConferenceOpportunity', which is equivalent to the title of the option they pick. Then, I want to take this variable and display in a text box called "Conference_Option". I use a variable because my radio buttons values are actual prices of the option they pick, so I can't set the value as the title of the option.

  If its an array of boxes and option at the bottom of the page, there is the Option that they selected, the quantity (which can change) and value (in dollars)

  I also then want to display this variable at the end of the document as a kind of summary of what they have chosen to buy as well, but I guess it's the same code.

  I'm not an expert at all Javascript, so code snippets would help greatly. I looked on the Document from Adobe on the SDK and API and have not been able to find a solution. I also turned to the Almighty google and still no luck.

  Right now, you have to do is use this variable to the value property of your text field... Then add this at the end of your code:

  this.getField("Conference_Option").value = ConferenceOpportunity;

  Also, I would use not MouseDown, MouseUp.

  OK, here's the thing. I have some PDF forms with multiple lines and columns and the information in them. I need to take this information and place Illustrator layered on a file. I've seen examples here accomplished that, with Excel files, but is there a way to do it from a PDF form? I use CS6 and Javascript.

  If you are in the export of files and to analyze text manually and forms are conducive to this, you can try to export data to PDF form as xml or .fdf (?) file, those who provide a text of these data document.

  I created a PDF form with multiple pages. I started with an Illustrator file, then exported to Acrobat to make it complete. For some reason any, however, when users enter text on the first page and try to continue on the other, the text on the first page only auto copies on the following pages. And if you delete what was on the second page (or third) to enter the correct data, which provides information on the first page.

  I guess it must be something that twisted when I was creating the form, so I don't know if there is a way to fix without all over again.

  Give a unique name to each field. The fields with the same name are copies of each other and will automatically have the same value.

  You talk about the tab order? If Yes, go to Edit - Preferences - forms and make sure the box "Automatically adjust tab order when changing fields" is NOT checked.

  Hi and thanks in advance.  I just created my first PDF form.  This works well when sent to my pc, read, filled out and returned.  However, it is difficult to fill on my iPhone, because of the size of the fields.  I set the preferences for the size of the text on Auto and in certain designated areas a size small text, but doesn't seem to work.  Alignment is also random, even if it is set to the left.  To clarify, I can view the correct form on the iPhone, but the fields default to a larger text size.  How can I fix it?  Thank you!

  Thank you.  Have discovered that it is necessary to download the Adobe application on the device.  Form now works fine.

  I already have a PDF (not created by me) I have to edit but cannot work out how to enter into new fields of text instructions, I create. I tried to do in InDesign, but the text gets just covered by the blue shape box when you view the final PDF file.

  

  Follow the instructions as default value for the field and then reset the form.

  Edit the form fields so that they use Helvetica by 9 points. Do not set the Arial font. Acrobat/Reader will use a private version of Arial as a substitute for Helvetica. If you specify Arial, it will integrate the entire police (sometimes several times), makes that increase the file size unnecessarily.

  It's a good idea to inform your users that Adobe Reader (or Acrobat) should be used to work with Forms.
