  You can completely disable Windows XP search for a single user.  If you just want to do it for the current user, follow these steps:

  1. Select run from the start menu.
  2. Type "cmd" and press ENTER.
  3. Type "reg Export HKU backup.reg" and press ENTER.
  4. Type "reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer /v NoFind /t REG_DWORD /d 1" and press ENTER.

• Help: Windows 10 does not recognize my iPod.

  I just got a new desktop computer with Windows 10.

  I did have a computer to update my iPod 160GB from my MacBook Pro about six months ago.

  When I connect my IPod to my new computer, it says "USB device not recognized" and that because there is a failure, Windows do not recognize.

  Download iTunes was the first thing I did when I'm connected to the internet and it is the most updated to iTunes version.

  On my iPod if I go into settings > about it says Mac Version 2.0.4.

  It has nothing to do with passing of a Mac to Windows?

  If so, I need to restore my iPod before it will recognize?

  It's my best guess.

  It could very well be too late for photos and videos.  When a hard drive crashes, it is hard to say whether something can be salvaged or not.  The best bet is also replace the failed hard drive and on a work computer connect the player down with an adapter LIKE THIS.  Then boot from a Linux Live CD to examine the failed drive and move all the data to the CD/DVD drive Flash
