  You should have a sticker with the product key on your computer, on the bottom, or under the battery cover.  I try to type this key in and see if it accepts it.  If this isn't the case, you might not have an authentic version of Windows installed.

  The answer is simple: create a test server local with php, Apache, MySQL and phpMyAdmin on your Mac. Connect to your local test server/database (located on your Mac as localhost) and you'll be good to go as far in local development on your test server. I can help you to implement in Leopard but Tiger is a little outdated so you'd have to Google information about it. If you decide to upgrade to Leopard let me know and I can guide you through the steps of setting up!

  My dreamweaver program worked fine, until yesterday when I received this error message at startup:

  You can try this simple fix-

  Stop DW.

  Find the folder-

  C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
  8\Configuration\WinFileCache-*.dat
  (these files are normally hidden - you may have to use Explorer > tools >)
  To view the Folder Options)

  or on Mac-
  / Library/Application Support/Macromedia/Dreamweaver
  8/configuration/MacFileCache-*.dat

  and delete it.

  Restart DW. Works better?

  If you look at the tutorial, I think you will see that you are using "txt" where "text" is needed.  'text' is a property of a textfield, identify the text that contains the textfield object.  I don't know if you're doing something where the num1 object contains another object named txt, but I think that my first sentence catches the problem.

  I solved my problem...

  To temporarily disable closing kick, after that the warning popup will appear, I went the prompt commands and typed in 'shutdown-a' so I could help out.

  Then I went in under the Application Event Viewer and saw that some services weird I don't need anyway did not start because they had missing information/dll registry info.  It was originally the svchost.exe service to fail (and default recovery for this is to reboot)

  I stopped the weird service (in this case, it was Hello) because I didn't need anyway, and went into the properties of this service and past earlier in "Manual" "automatic".
