Hide an article in DPS

Is it possible to hide an article to swipe and point of view article history? I know this has been asked before, but it seems that it has been a few years. I was wondering if they added it yet? Thank you very much.

You can place it at the end of the folio. On the last article, use a State two vacuum MSO covering the entire article. Set it to swipe to the next slide. That will kill the hit on this article.

    Why and how?

You don't give enough details to understand the problem. A proposal, however, you use a fluid grid layout. For the icons to display, the element must have class = "liquid" in the opening tag.

  • Design of horizontal mayonnaise articles for DPS

We design a magazine that uses only the pages goes everywhere - 1024 x 768.

For the moment, there is a master with 3 pages, so images are spread over several pages, as well as text boxes etc..

Problems begin when I apply this 3 master pages to the 'Pages' and try to download to DPS.

DPS does not allow to download, even with "Pages of" unchecked, but gives the following message:

"Content generation error [error: that a single page by propagation is supported.]". [Open Document Setup and uncheck the box 'facing Pages'.] »

I understand DPS doesn't like 'spreads' but otherwise, how can I "build" article 2-3 with some active component that runs through all aspects? Is there another way to install templates that are 2 to 4 shutters everywhere, but will also play nice with the producer of folio?

All advice very much appreciated, thanks in advance

The only way is to take the content and put it on a single page.

  • Can you change a Type of Article of DPS of Jpeg to PDF without removal and the addition of the coll. Folio

    Hi-

I have everything entire magazine already published... all items are ar jpeg and must be updated so that the items are in PDF format, making the text base wonderful text on the retina.

I need to know if there is a way to do this and not delete every article it readd for the folio and retype all OCD... that would be miserable.

Please tell me there is an easier way to go about it.

    Thank you

    S

Nope. But if you use a sidecar.xml file save you yourself the headache of returning all the metadata.

  • How to hide an article of shots?

I have an article "about the author" in my application. In these pages, there is a link to "get more information about the author." The link is directed to another article titled "More_Info."

Here's the question: I don't want the user to be able to see the content of "More_Info" unless they put to use on the link to "get more information about the author." I was able to designate 'More_Info' as 'advertising', so it is not available in the Table of contents list, but I'm still able to call horizointally to get to 'More_Info '. Is there a way to make an article not only in the absence of Table of contents, little also not accessible through shots?

Make instead a MSO. Much easier that way.

  • In an Article in DPS, can link you to an object state form a superposition of web content?

The reason we ask is because we use web conntent overlays for our buttons because they are sharp on the retina and and have a better tactile response.

    Thank you

To make sure that your button images are sharp, consider creating an invisible button on an image rather than use a web cache.

  • Scroll smoothly to DPS Solution

So I've been playing with the DPS for InDesign tools and I've used folio Builder to create a smooth scrolling article. On my preview, it looks and works very well.

How can I download what I see in the preview of InDesign in DPS Solution so that I can have content of smooth scrolling in my application of digital publishing? DPS is not capable of hosting the content of smooth scrolling?

    Thank you!

In InDesign, choose file > export, and then use the DPS Article to export the file to the article. In the export dialog box, make sure that you specify the target device dimensions (for example, 768 x 1024 for iPad) and choose the scroll smoothly. You can then download this file of the smooth scrolling to your article 2015 DPS article.

  • navto links go dead when not the first article of collection

I feel very odd behavior with navto links in the articles of DPS solution.

I have an article with a big button with this link: navto://GRhodes_PofC_contents#1--juste the name of another article in the same collection, goes to the second page.

If I set up the collection so that the article with the link of navto load first, the button works.  If it is nowhere else in the collection (and I navigate through a link from another article), the button is dead.  It's clearly reading the action because the < = back link is not displayed at the top of the screen.  And no error rises ("content not found"), instead, it does nothing.  Looks like a bug, but I can't diagnose.  I have not tried yet completely rebuild the collection and items on the DPS, but it's my next step.

Anyone else having this problem with unreliable strange behavior with links to navto?

    Hey, Geoffrey;

Navto in DPS2015 links work much like the previous version, but there are a few differences.

Within a project, you will have a lot of articles, but the name of each item is unique. Navto://ArticleName will get you to the article, but the relative location where you come from and where you "nav would be-to" has an impact on your experience.

A navto of one article to another in the same collection has a context, so you can drag the previous or following in the collection items.

But if you navto an article that is outside the collection, then there's no context for all navigation drag (you can only go back). So a navto an article outside the current collection is a little like walking into a cup bag - you must leave the way you came in.

Some related commands navto work, and there is info in the HELP system: https://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-solution/help/hyperlinks.html#create_goto_links _to_custom_icons

The significant passage in the HELP article is in the first section, third indent:

    • If the destination article is located in the same collection that section that the user displays, typing the link opens this article as part of the collection. If the destination article is not in the same collection, it will open in a State that is not bound to a collection, with no article left or right of it. Users can use the navigation bar to return to the original article.

  • Very simple questions about DPS

I have a few questions about the tools and DPS.

    1. What is the difference between Folio and DPS Article?

I think that the two format have a fixed layout. I don't understand difference and the merit of the Article of DPS.

I want to know why the Folio was disappear and replace by Article of DPS.

    2. I want to know that all publish root of DPS. (ex.) App Store for iOS, Google android game and..)

I know that I can make the app, iOS, Android, and windows for each stores with DPS.

If I want to publish to the Kindle store, iBooks store, store kiosk to newspapers or on the Web site, I don't need using DPS?

3 if I want to book recomposable (like reactive Web site), I shouldn't use InDesign?

Is there a process for making recomposable document with InDesign?

can I use text editor, DW or muse? (such as the manufacture of the normal site)

I want to know the standard method book recomposable.

    Sorry for my bad English.

    1. I know you probably talk format but essentially, a DPS classic folio is now a collection, the items in the collections are always content

2 - iOS, Android and Windows platforms that you can publish on are

-We do not support the Kindle store

-For book content type, you want to use the ePub format, please see the following links:

    http://wwwimages.Adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/DevNet/digitalpublishingsuite/PDFs/DPS_and _ePub_FAQ.pdf

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/InDesign/how-to/eBook-fixed-layout.html

3 - InDesign has the ability to create recomposable ePub

See this tutorial: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/how-to/ebook-fixed-layout.html (with exercise files)

    Hope that helps!

  • HTML to .article

How to generate a .article to an html file? Is there documentation?

    Hello

You can use Packager HTML Article to generate the .article file. Please see this article for the writing/video tutorial and the package manager itself: create HTML articles for DPS 2015

  • Access to the article in web viewer

    Hello.

I have a problem to protect my articles in web viewer. My client is a free application with free sheets. But he wants to share only the cover story in web viewer. Then, I set all the items in the folio protected except the cover story. The problem is: when I share content, I can navigate through all articles in web viewer that they are protected or free. Any suggestions? App-Version v29.1.2, folio is v27.

    Thank you

    Dennis

This is an expected behavior because the folio itself is free, you cannot protect/hide an article published in a folio free

  • A link to other articles of folio

This has been asked several times, but I have not found an answer right (for beginners) lead to the question ' how can I associate from article to another article in folio a folio "even the DPS tips app isn't a definitive answer to this specific question, the answer given is vague enough to be wrong (several times)

    As I understand it

    1. You must create a developer of folio multi application (for testing)
    2. You must specify an optional URL scheme in the DPS App Builder, preferably a URL opposite i.e. com.example.myapp
    3. You must have at least 2 published folios
    4. You must use the navto: / / and the structure should be something like navto://com.example.myapp/FolioName/ArticleName#4 the 4 hash would be the page number

    Is this correct?

There are a few things I'm not clear

    1. Can I use a slash or do I have to use colons to separate my URL string
      example 1: navto://com.example.myapp/FolioName/ArticleName#4
      example 2: navto://com.example.myapp:FolioName:ArticleName #4
    2. It is case-sensitive
    3. Can names folio and article have spaces and if they don't how I deal with them, example:
      example 1: navto://com.example.myapp/Folio name/Article name #4
    4. In the Indesign Document I use the Panel 'Buttons and forms' of the 'Interactive' option
    5. Am I simply specifying a command "Go To URL" and place my navto: / / link in the box provided

Phil, a couple of things. First of all, you jump into an advanced technique which is difficult for a beginner. Second, this isn't a workflow-supported, but we work for quite a long time. Thirdly, try to create an article with a link to an article of DPS tips so that you can experiment with the syntax.

    1. slash. See the example on page 2, step 2 of article advice from DPS. And note the "v1" after the URL schema. You are missing in your examples. And there is no ' navto: ' prefix in order to link the cross-folio.

    2. Yes, it is case sensitive. Use the names of the folio and article as they appear in the Folio Builder Panel and replace the appropriate HTML code such as % 20 for a space spaces or special characters.

    3. Yes, use %20 to a space. Yet once, refer to the example of advice of DPS.

    4. Yes, buttons and form of Panel.

    5. No, there is no navto: prefix. Again, see page 2, step 2 of the DPS > Advanced overlays > advanced linking article.

  • Plugin comments for DPS items section?

Is there a standard way or suggested to add a comments section to items covered by one of my apps?

I'm a designer, not a coder, so I don't know how to program one myself, but this sort of thing will be probably available as a plug-in? I'd rather not be it as an overlay of web, because this would require the implementation of a web page for each form of discussion for an app that could have up to 50 items in any of a folio.

    Thank you

I'm not aware of a way to add a 'comments' at the end of each article in DPS section.

  • Edge .oam file is not correctly displayed in the DPS.

Here's the scenario.  I have an animation I created for an article of DPS (Digital Publishing Suite) but it does not display correctly and I can't understand why.  It displays is too large and goes past it's bounding box or it displays too little.

Article DPS is set up for a 2048 x 1536 retina display.  The animation was created at 400px by 100px and saved on a file .oam must be deposited in Indesign to use in a DPS application.

The problem is that when placed in Indesign placed animation does not display correctly.  If you change anything in Indesign in the "Folio overlays" Panel under "Web content" animation will play much too large and extend beyond the bounding (Image 2) box.  If you check the scale to fit in Indesign too small poster.

My question here is that nobody knows if I'm missing a step on the edge of Adobe that may cause this or if you know why he would do this in Indesing would be great as well.

I see not all the parameters of resolution on the edge and normally pixels are pixels and resolution is not important but it when the PPI is higher on the iPad.

Animations do not work it's just sizing.

The first image shows how it should look like at the end of the animation. "(the classic) is the animation part."

The second image shows how it displays when it is set to no change in Indesign.

The image below shows how it displays when placed in Indesign with the "content to Fit scale" checked in the "Folio overlays" Panel under "Web content", too small!

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely, Ryan.

    1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg

It is a known problem with the creation for the retina in DPS, I met last year, when the retina is first released.

If you try to save in pdf folios go png or jpg. But the best practice with DPS is at the 1024 x 768 folio woth beginning and create assets to a higher resolution.

try to create the dps page 1024 x 768 see if she double size then, bet that's not :-(

I hope this helps... sort of
