HO to prevent blocking of Flash player firefox

Dear all,

I can't get Firefox to use Adobe Flash Player 5.0. When I run http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ I still see the message "for your security, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Flash. Please install the latest version. "The thing is, I have the latest version of the Flash (10.3.181.34) plugin installed. I tried to uninstall the Flash plug-in (including using uninstaller form Adobe's Web site) and install it again (there is no error reported during installation) without effect.

Here is some more information in case it is necessary:
+ Installed Firefox 5.0 after a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. The computer is on a Windows domain.
+ I copied some files manually (bookmarks, etc.) in the newly created profile
+ I did it when you are prompted to install Flash player. The facility had no effect that Firefox guard asks me to install the plugin.
+ Other plugins work well (I have a limited set of standard plugins).
+ I tried reinstalling Firefox (still an old version 3.6.18) and the problem persists.
+ I manually added the entry "dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npswf32.dll" in about: config, no effect
+ There is no mention of Flash in everything: plugins

I've exhausted the solutions I've seen suggested in various places on the web. I would be very happy if someone could help me with this problem - I love Firefox, but it is impossible to switch to another browser whenever I need to display Flash content.

Best,
S.

I had what I believe to be the same problem, but with Windows XP. I always seem to have problems with Flash, but has actually been able to solve this one, so I created an account just to pass along what I've done.

It's pretty simple in the end. I copied NPSWF32. DLL (which was in C:\windows\system32\macromed\flash) in C:\program files\mozilla plugins.

Restarted Firefox and there he was, even that was updated in the plugincheck.

I think that there is a problem with Firefox 5.0.1 and the Adobe installer from the Adobe installer seems to reference the Plugin registry key in HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Firefox\extensions (and, in addition, HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Mozilla extensions). Since Firefox 5.0.1 creates a new location, HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Mozilla Firefox 5.0.1 Setup Adobe never puts the DLL file in the right place, because it does not find the key to the plugin to tell him where to put the DLL file.

You can see this in the Flashinstall.log in the windows system folder. Here was mine:

0001 [W] 00001037 SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins\@adobe.com/FlashPlayer/ 2
0002 [W] 00001036 Software\Mozilla\Firefox\extensions/Plugins 2
0003 [W] 00001036 Software\Mozilla\Mozilla Firefox\extensions/Plugins 2
0008 [I] 00000014 C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32.dll
0009 [I] 00000015 C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil10u_Plugin.exe
0010 [I] 00000017 C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
0011 [I] 00000019 C:\WINDOWS\system32\FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl
0012 [I] 00000020 C:\WINDOWS\system32\FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl
0013 [W] 00001024 C:\WINDOWS\system32\FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl 183
0014 [W] 00001035 SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins\@adobe.com/FlashPlayer/Path 2

Note the references to the extensions/Plugins 2. Those are the registry keys saying the installer where to put the DLL. Adobe should add a 'Firefox Software\Mozilla\Mozilla 5.0.1\extensions/Plugins 2' line to their installation script, or Mozilla must go back to the old registry key.

On Windows XP, you can consider using the Extended Support Release - Flash Player 13.0.0.305. New versions of Flash offer features that Windows XP cannot use - features only available in Vista and more recent operating system of Windows.

    Hello

    Recently upgrade Flash 12-13?

There have been problems reported with the 13.0.0.182 version of the Flash plugin crashing on some old Mac computers by the compiler to generate incompatible codes.

The only way to recover is to uninstall the version of Flash 13 and return to an older version of Flash and wait for Adobe to release an update that resolves this problem.

You can install the latest version of Flash 11.7 has the latest security updates (does not work with Safari) or the latest version of Flash 12 who did not get updates of security Flash 13A.

More updates Adobe Flash Player are for reasons of security and stability fixes. However before December 9, Mozilla is not added all versions of Flash to the red list since the beginning of 2013. The reason now is because critical exploits that is in older versions (not with corrections) and Adobe tried to fix with five updates for 16.0 Flash itself since 9 dec. Mozilla only adds Extensions and Plugins versions to list when it is security, stability or malware.

As to why some receive the old Flash 11 blocklisting I can't say.

  • After installing the new version of flash player firefox only charge for most of the sites basic html

After you install the new version of Adobe Flash Player yesterday, Firefox would not charge most of the sites except in basic html, as I understand is the right term for all the lists in the text, especially on the left side of the screen. They open in Google Chrome and IE. I tried to restore to two days ago, today I uninstalled Firefox and re-installed, I have tried several possible solutions in the support forums, but nothing has worked. I prefer Firefox but it will fall if I can't get this resolved quickly. Note: I only start from the principle that the new flash player was to blame as it happened immediately after. I don't really know yet what he does, it's just one of those things that appears and says he has to be upgraded to the latest version from time to time.

The Flash player plugin allows certain types of media to be displayed in the web pages. Otherwise, you get an empty rectangle. Usually Flash would not hinder Firefox to load style sheets, images and other elements that add to the raw text of the page.

You can try the reset function. It duplicates some data key of your active settings in a new file, bypassing some add-ons and custom settings. Your plugins (including Flash) will still be active, but may be disabled manually if you wish.

More information in this article: Firefox Refresh - reset the settings and Add-ons. Please note that an old parameter file appears on your desktop. You might want to keep this around for awhile in case you need to save something from him

  • My computer/browser blocks Adobe Flash player

Yahoo Mail has said that my browser blocks Flash Player.  You Tube will also not play videos.  I can co to change this?

    Hi JudyVanlandingham,

    ·         What web browser do you use?

    ·         You receive an error message or error code?

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

If you use Internet Explorer, then follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: I suggest to optimize Internet Explorer (IE) and check to see if that fixes the problem.

Internet Explorer is slow? 5 things to try

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/Internet-Explorer/slow-five-tips-to-boost-performance

Warning: Please note that the reset Internet Explorer (IE) resets all of the settings defined by the user, including those established by the installed extensions, toolbars and other add-ons for IE by default. This includes all the security, privacy and settings area. Also this will erase browsing history, delete all temporary Internet, cookies, form data files and especially all the passwords.

Method 2: I recommend to uninstall Adobe Flash Player, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player and see if that fixes the problem.

    How to bypass this?

    map_btn.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, mapClick);

  • Updates security for 11.2 Flash Player for Linux?

When trying to download an update for Flash Player for Linux 11.2, I saw the note saying that there was no new development, but backfixes of security would continue to be released. I've seen the warnings of security for months on my Linux install in Firefox (which is updated), but it doesn't seem to be a security patch that would prevent these warnings "allow - continue blocking" for Flash Player.

When can we expect these to be filled? Linux users can not form an important part of your user base, but the alternatives are extremely expensive hardware and/or software if you want to use an Apple or Microsoft product.

    Hi Tim,.

What is the full version of Flash Player?  The latest version of Linux is 11.2.202.442.  If you go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about there is a widget on the page that will display the installed version.

Firefox could block Flash because of security concerns.

Because of security problems in older versions, Apple has

From Sierra, Safari will be is more said websites common plug-ins are installed. It does this by not including not information on Flash, Java, Silverlight and QuickTime
