  I just bought a new Sony Vaio running 64-bit Windows 7 and I am unable to Hot Sync my Palm Z22 to my computer.  I've been a Palm user for years, my being my model 3 of the current one and it has been my lifeline, but I am very agitated and frustrated that Palm people haven't posted updates to manage my current situation.  Everything I've read here indicates that the extra money to go towards infrared and some people are not yet a success while others have long struggled to finally make sync.  Someone out there a similar situation as mine, which would be ready to give me advice as to what I have to do and how to do in order to get my Palm to connect with my 64-bit Windows 7 platform?  Thanks to all those who are able to help.

  I have a new Asus with Win7 x 64 and after looking here and there in the way of the IR. Find for less than $10 on ebay, delivered USB iRda devices. Bought one, installed, Windows downloaded the new driver and worked straightup. $10 spent wisely, will give me a few more years with my trusty Palm.

• hot-sync / Verizon Centro

  I was unable to hot-sync my Centro Verizon with my desktop for more than 2 weeks. It will connect and start normally, but then it is hampering all the 2nd part of the synchronization of the agenda. After a while, I have to cancel the operation. I have a third party application called Datebook more, I used for a long time without problem. We have also recently installed a suite of McAfee security on this computer. I even installed Palm Desktop on my laptop and tried to hot-sync the Centro with it, but he got hung up in the same way.   Sounds like a corruption of database on the Centro.

  I suggest you fix repeatedly recommended here using pimlicosoftware.com DBFixit

  It will look for and fix many errors on your Palm, but may require purchase to fix all of them.

  The "sledgehammer" approach would be to Hard Reset the device (which will erase it) and rename your Folder /Backup on your computer before you do your first Hotsync on the phone recently deleted.

  I recently updated a program that I use on my desktop and sync with my Palm Zire 71. To get the new update on my Palm, I tried to use Palm quick install. I believe that this does not work with Windows Vista!  What are my options?  I don't know how to get this update on my Palm so that I can synchronize my data between my desktop and Palm Zire 71.   Have you tried right clicking on the shortcut to quick setup, or the .exe and select "Run As Administrator"?

  Please don t forget that Vista has been installed on your laptop and the additional tools of Toshiba and the utilities that control many additional features!
  There is a huge difference between Vista and early Microsoft operating systems.

  The Vista eat computer resources and many devices old don t work or cannot be installed because the 3rd device manufacturers don t provide Vista drivers!

  In my opinion an upgrade to 2 GB ram would increases the performance of laptop.
  All programs and utilities could be loaded more quickly

  Maybe some of your applications cause this problem

  I think you should check what software could cause what I mean it of not impossible that a 3rd party applications that runs in the background would be the cause of your troubles

  Of course, it could also be related to a hardware malfunction. It looks a bit like a RAM problem, but just a personal suggestion.

  I have an owner of the M40 motorway m but I didn t install Vista on my laptop.
  Why? good Vista needs a lot more material resources like the XP.

  Anyway, if you want to install Vista on your M40 I would create an additional partition and install the OS on the second partition.

  Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (a century of aviation) does not load on my new laptop (Toshiba A100 with Windows Vista Basic operating system). The same program runs on my desktop PC that works with the Windows XP operating system.

  You can still use switchable graphics, however it is not the easy way. You would have to use the BIOS to switch, and then the right video driver loads, depending on the chosen graphics chip.

  2. click on programs and features.

  3. on the left side of the screen, click on 'Windows turn features on or off".

  4. find the entry called games & check the box next to it.

  5. click on OK.

  6 reset.

  If the games box is already checked, uncheck the box , click OK, restart, then do steps 1-6 above.
