  You could add the background element you want the main video track, then drag your recording on the screen the second piece with overlays. Select the effect of the image in the image, and then drag the corners resize to adjust the size of your video clip:

  I'm mocking a basic slate of interactive outro YouTube-style and try to add a pure fade at the end of the video. I add a transition to the main video layer, then adjust the handles of fade on the layer of the image in the image:

  

  Unfortunately, I can't get a neat transition. I can't show you the video in question, but it seems that even if the transitions are the same length, the image in the image layer takes longer time to fade.

  Is there another method, I can try to match the transitions?

  They can turn to be of the same duration, but iMovie is not a uniform time scale (there is a minimum width of clip in the panel mounting no matter how short the clip is in fact).  If you have set the same transition times from that it is just a matter of setting how the pip clip extends beyond the main element.

  I am trying to speed up the process of adding the Latin names of plants and animals to an index using Indesign CS4. It's about two sentences of Word (kind + species) that must be put in the level 1 heading and level 2 of the theme of the new dialog boxes reference page (Index).   It is much faster. "The index" of a Word is its offset from the beginning of its history. Similarly, the 'index' of its container, paragraph is the offset from the first character in the paragraph. Subtract, and you have the position of the word in this paragraph. Knowing that and the length of the original Word and adding a '1' for the next space, you can use 'fit' to enter the right word after that:

  Folks, I'm looking for a feature that even the old Windows Movie Maker used to have cheese.  I'm trying to figure out how to get first elements 11 to add a transition between each clip, by any means of quick shortcut.  I think it's rude and unhelpful that I need to manually drag a transition between each element.  If I import 200 short films that I took with my point and shoot camera, it'll take me more than one hour alone just to put transitions in place.

  Is it possible to select a transition and have Premiere Elements add it between each clip?  I have stumbled upon the fact that you can click on a transition and make the "Default", but were not able to understand what this does for me.

  As I showed you in my book, you can select all the clips you want a transition between, right-click on the group, and select apply the default Transition, and it will be applied between all the clamps.

  You can define a transition to the default by right clicking on it in the Panel of Transitions.
