How can I change my drive letter on my backup drive?

From: ScottHarlow

About 2 weeks ago, I did a full system back up and now I want to restore SOME files from the backup. Whenever I go to the backup and Restore Center and try to do a restore of the files, I get a warning that there are no backups available on this computer. But, from the main screen, I see that the last backup was performed on 07/07/2008 and has been saved on disk 'G '. It is an external hard drive and now when I connect Windows Vista (Ultimate) assigns to the player "H". Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

From: Richard G. Harper

You have the Nations United-do what you did to back up the road of 'G' to 'H' - if the Windows backup utility him is not where the backup where think he saves, the backup will be considered as damaged and unusable.

No you haven't, how it was labeled in the old pc is irrelevant, just install you it as slave on your PC drive, depends on the question of if you need to change the jumper on the drive. • How can I change the drive letter assigned to the partition of 'winretools' on a laptop Win 8?

I'm just going through the process to customize a new Inspiron 14z with Windows 8. The only thing that left me speechless are all provided partitions installed on drive, thanks to a combination of everything be different on Win8, Dell make their own way and GPT formatting.  Generally, I would like to know what the devil all these partitions are for, but it is fine if it will be a slow learning process.  More precisely and immediately, I need to change the drive letter assigned to the partition of 'WINRETOOLS '.  Currently it is D:, and the problem is that 10 years from now, I'm using as my data partition D: and a number of applications, configurations, settings, etc. assume that all my files are on D:.  For example, by having all my music on D:, I can sync iTunes library and preference between machines and all results files and playlists is from a machine to another.  Same thing for my photos.  Same for a bunch of utilities like FTP consoles, sync utilities...

In an earlier version of Windows, I would just go into management drives, right click on the partition in question, assign a different drive letter and work done.  On my machine, the WINRETOOL 2 GB partition shows not even as having a drive letter in disk management, despite the fact that it is D: in Win Explorer.  In addition, only the right click option is 'help '.  I took this option, and, despite its aspirations, it is not useful.

How can I change this drive letter to something else?  WINRETOOLS should even have a drive letter in Explorer (some messages that I've seen indicates that it must be hidden)?  If I change the drive letter, which will break its function, whatever it is?

    ....

My machine has a 500 GB of rotating disk that has all of the above partitions.  I shrunk the 80 GB C: partition, to create a data partition.  I've not yet formatted the unallocated space I want to solve this WINRETOOLS thing first.  Finally, there is a 32 GB of SSD that I put in place as a cache of the Intel Smart Response, and it is no longer visible to the operating system.

At the command prompt, type the following and press "enter":

    mountvol D:\/d

    Close the command prompt.

Drive D: letter should now be available and not used.

Here's some info about Mountvol, it's very powerful to be safe to use it:

Hello, I tried to run this game called 'minecraft' but I never load...

to cut to the Chase, I need the driver of Intel P4/NetBurst Architecture processor or equivalent AMD (AMD K7)
I have AMD Sempron (TM) TR-42...
How can I change my driver? Help, please

First of all, check that you have the latest BIOS for your system. All pilots must be installed automatically for Windows Update.

The AMD Sempron (TM) TR-42 is an old, low powered CPU and the message you see is probably because Sempron SI - 42 http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD-Mobile%20Sempron%20SI-42%20-%20SMSI42SAM12GG.html isn't a sufficient processor to run Minecraft. • If you can open Photoshop, you can configure the scratch disk preferences in editing - preferences - Performance (in recent versions of Photoshop that is).
    • If you can not even open Photoshop, you can set your scratch disk preferences by pressing and hold the control and Alt keys (or their Mac equivalents) immediately after cold start Photoshop.  You must be very quick, and if you're fast enough it will inspire you as follows:

    The library is a container.
Move the Documents folder on the F drive (right click on Documents, properties-map) and the library /should/ re - point himself at this place.

  • How can I change the drive letter of the cd/DVD/BD in windows 8

The only thing that appears under device management is hard drives.  Optical drives do not arise as they did under XP or 7.

In Windows 8, the optical drives are listed in the Device Manager under CD/DVD-ROM drives.

In windows 8, the drive letter assignments are made in the disk management snap-in in.

    Access

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Administrative tools

    Computer management

    Disk management

Highlight the device in the list, click the icon to the left of the list on the right left

In the context menu, select change drive letter and path.

    Follow the on-screen prompts.

If the devices are not listed, shut down the computer to the power off. Wait a minute. Restart and check again.

  • How can I change the default "Letter" paper format to "A4 «on a P1006 (Windows 7)»»

I just be reformatted my computer (Windows 7 Professional - 64-bit) and then reinstalled my HP Laserjet P1006 (download the driver from the HP website)

Even if I changed the settings EVERYWHERE in A4 format - including measures to display millimetres - and even if all parameters indicate that the format has been modified correctly, printed documents still come out as if printed on letter-size.

The only place in the printer settings and preferences that I can find where it says even the letter notes from the 'Général' tab (right click on the default printer > "Printer properties") where he under the heading 'Book' says 'letter '.  And... I don't know where and how change this setting.

However on my second printer of the same model that I use another computer, the settings show also letter in this place, and this computer can - despite this - still print in A4 format... so maybe it's not the problem.

    Can someone please help!

    Hi Gemini02!

Thanks for trying to help, but don't the is not addressed.

And in fact, I discovered how to solve the problem already:

    (1) open Word Doc aq + go to...  FILE > Options > Advance > printing

    "(2) uncheck the following question:"Scale content for A4 or 8.5 x 11"paper size" + OK

I know it makes no sense, but it works.

  • How can I change hard drive icon images?

I have a strange problem that has just occurred in Windows 7.

I have several hard drives internal and 1 external hard drive.  The external hard drive has always had its own unique icon and internal hard drives all have the same icon image.

But somehow, the external drive now has an image of the icon of an internal hard drive, and my biggest drive, a HD 1.5 TB, shows the icon used previously by the external hard drive.

I can't understand why this happened, or how to redefine the way it was.  Don't pose any problem of performance, its just confusing because I saw this image external drive so long I'll automatically for the picture if my computer or Explorer and now that means that I often select the wrong drive.

I click on properties > customize and select change image folder, then select a hard drive icon I want for each player, but he never changes the icon.  And I'm pointing to an appropriate *.ico icon image file.

Anyone has any ideas on this issue?

    Thank you.

  • How can I change the drive in the search box on another drive on the network?

Just got another computer at work and I need set the default player Look Up to a shared network drive (as the old unit was created) rather than specific accesses now. I searched everywhere for an answer and hope that someone here can help. You also have to find a way to resize the window to a full screen instead of the way it is a window of size 1/4. I can manually resize, but the next time I open a document it's back to the small again. Thanks in advance.

  • How can I change the settings of ITunes to backup my apps iPhone to my computer?

In the past, we could save our iPhones to our computer via iTunes. Then came, I have clouds. I discovered how to back up my photos and music on my computer, but how I backup my apps to the computer? I disabled the iCloud backup on my iPhone. Thank you.

A feature introduced with iOS 9 called thinning or slicing app app allows each device to download just the code and resources required by this device, resulting in smaller downloads and a better use of the storage on the device. Therefore the device is no longer the universal version of the application that can be installed on any device to transfer applications is no longer supported. You can however download past purchases to iTunes and/or to activate Automatic app downloads buy to make sure iTunes has always the apps you want on your device. Another change to the way the restorations are implemented means that all private data app is restored and apps that are not in the library are waiting for download on the iTunes Store on Wi - Fi, in a similar way to the restoration of the iCloud way works. Not having apps in your library is not the disadvantage that it once was, but you're still at risk of losing a favored app if it is removed from the Bank and you don't have a local copy.
