How can I color proof for RGB565

Hello

I'm working on a large number of images from a target of Android.  The target uses the RGB565 format.  Is it possible to configure the proofing color on Photoshop (and illustrator would be good) to display with the color range of RGB565.  I have not been able to develop it and resorted to save the image as a BMP in RGB565 format then load back in search for atrifacts and banding etc.

Thank you

Just to clarify this: Soft Proofing is not possible, because RGB565 is not a color space

but simply the code format bit R 5, 6 G of type bit, 5-bit B.

The question is probably, how to get a reasonable overview of the quantification

effects (strips, as shown).

Image > adjustment > Posterize

with 32 levels (2 ^ 5 = 32) creates an overview for RGB555, which can be considered

a kind of worst test for RGB565.

But if the real RGB888--> RGB565 conversion is performed with dithering, then the

test as above is no longer relevant.
