How can I configure Thunderbird to search for addresses in my personal address book only?

I created several address lists to store the addresses of the different groups. I also placed these addresses that I use most often in my personal address book. When you select OPTIONS in the TOOLS section of my address book, on the COMPOSITION, ADDRESS tab I see the box to select "when addressing messages, look for corresponding entries: local address books." It would be so useful and such a time saving in order to have the additional option of my personal address book only.
Thank you all in advance for the great thoughts, tips and tricks.

I use this add-on:

stretching the parameters dialog of account to include a set of checkboxes to associate address specified in each e-mail account books.

  • How can I configure Thunderbird to several email addresses

I'm on Eudora 7 to manage 6 on a Windows XP SP3 computer email accounts. I want to install Thunderbird on the same machine and import e-mail addresses. I have Setup Eudora to store the data files for each e-mail address in a different data directory. This allows me to have another icon on the desktop for each e-mail account. Click on an icon to start Eudora with the e-mail address data stored in a specific directory.

What I don't know, is how to make Thunderbird import the different e-mail addresses of Eudora in Thunderbird and how to separate individual e-mail address data in Thunderbird.

    Any help would be appreciated.

To back up a little here. When you install Thunderbird it will import your Eudora mail and settings (both in regards to Thunderbird). So I suggest that you first import your mail (it does not Eudora) and see if it made a mess of your installation or not. I'm not punting.

You should end up with a folder in the pane of folders with Eudora and your structure of folders below that.

The main difference of Thunderbird to Eudora of Thunderbird do not detach attachments and store them somewhere else.

Note that I don't think the preference of Thunderbird to use the global Inbox was changed, so it is by default in the global inbox for multiple POP email accounts Menu (Alt + T) tools > account settings > server settings > button Advanced is where the parameter disable the use of the global Inbox by account is hidden.

doug25427 wrote: thanks for the reply and the info. The link was in your message. Can you send it again?

Hello doug25427, the first link is a dead link when I checked it after that I posted it so I had to find another link.

You can locate the link that I used initially by a Google search for how to create an array of Raid AMD.

You should see a search with a link result to AsRock. Click on this Google link, and it should show how to set up an array of Raid AMD. It is an Adobe PDF file so you will need Adobe Reader or a way to view a PDF file. The PDF file has 17 pages.

Although it is an AsRock system, AMD Raid configuration should be the same for any system that uses Raid AMD.

The current link may also have useful information.

  • How can I stop Thunderbird to check for attachments when you send an email when I unchecked the box to do?

I can sometimes send emails with no spare part because I get the pop box - up that says 'check' attachments. I unchecked the box in the settings so it should not check the attachments, but still the programs trying to find an attachment. I have to then search for the word "Join" in the body of the email and delete it, and sometimes it works so email can be sent, but even that doesn't work sometimes. This has happened for many months and I have the latest version of Thunderbird - 31.5.0. Thank you!

Save this e-mail using the file save as and send as an attachment to the email address in my profile here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/user/MattAuSupport so I can see what is in the message source that can cause this.

I found the solution: go to settings account and for each account, change the "check for new messages never" to 1 minute. I think that the default has been set to 1o minutes but changing that fixed my problem.

  • How can I reset right click search for Bing to Google?

For some reason a few months ago my right click search replaced by Bing Google. How can I change this back? I'm on a Mac OS 10.4.11 and Firefox 3.6.25. I got a little above my head and I tried two things, one to an article here that says.

    Change the keyword Internet service

You can specify a valid URL for search by Internet keywords by modifying the keyword. URL preference in the comments: config page:

       * To use the Browse by Name service from in earlier versions of Firefox, keyword.URL can be set to http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=. Google will forward you to the relevant site if it finds a clear match. Otherwise, the search results page will be displayed.

       * To use Yahoo!, set keyword.URL to http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=, Bing, set it to http://www.bing.com/search?q= and so on.
       * To reset the Internet Keyword service to use a standard Google search Google's Browse by Name service, right-click hold down the Ctrl key while you click on keyword.URL and select Reset.

and the other an article outside who were told to go to about: config, find Bing and replace it with the URL http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8 & oe = utf - 8 & q =

None worked and it's probably I have not the slightest idea as to what I do beyond these instructions. I suspect that it is perhaps because these solutions were designed for a different version of Firefox. I'm out of there because I didn't want to screw up anything.

Everything else I need to add?

  • How can I use a different search for FlexRIO i/o modules path?

I want to use an i/o module that is outside the tree of LabVIEW, but it seems that LabVIEW only searches the shared/flexrio/IO modules, and I can't understand how to create symbolic links in windows.

Is there a variable I can put it somewhere to include other directories to search for modules e/s?

    Olof

    Hello, Olaf,

There are two locations on your computer in Windows that are searched for files of supported FlexRIO adapt module.  The first is the Program Files directory, you indicated in your message. This directory contains the support files for the NOR made adaptation modules.  However, there is another directory, which can be used for the location of all the modules not - NEITHER adapter manufactured.  For Windows XP, this location is: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\FlexRIO\IO Modules.  If you try to install support for a manufactured non - adaptation module, please make sure that you have installed all the files in the module adapter support on this issue.

If you would like more information regarding a custom adapter module development, please send an email to support to the addresses listed in your Module Development Kit manual.  This e-mail address will give you direct access to the NI FlexRIO R & D team for management as shown here.  If you want to discuss adding the ability to search other directories for adapter module support (except the two mentioned above), please send an email to the email address of support MDK.

  • How can I configure a new TimeCapsule for an existing network without having to activate the internal networks?

I tried to go in advance and choose "Add TimeCapsule to the existing network", but it keeps defaulting to 'add a new network '.

without having to activate the internal networks?

"Add TimeCapsule to the existing network.

You cannot add a TC in an existing network, if there is.

You must configure the TC for the network.

It keeps default back to "add a new network.

So, it's OK... The TC is part of an existing network or makes a new.

You must connect to the TC network... either wireless or ethernet.

However, you can manually configure the TC simply plug ethernet for example.

See, cable using Time Capsule for Mac for backup only.

The same can be done for the wireless... but a TC is really the bad device for backups if you don't have a network... It's cheaper, faster and more reliable by using a USB key.

  • How can I report an abuse of my address book?

my address book has been hacked and 100s of emails sent in my name with a blank pdf file. No one can open the pdf file, and some people have the malware warnings. Since you have my address book store, I guess that's how the hacker got. I changed my configuration, but there are still opinions in the area of delivery is not and others from people who did not recognize it as malware and tried to open the pdf file. I tried to find a way to report to you, but this seems to be the only way.

How is it related to the Firefox web browser?

Firefox does not have email or have an address book, nor did Mozilla Store your address book.

If you use Firefox to access your e-mail, you use "webmail". You must seek assistance from your service provider or a forum for this service.

  • How can I add a contact in my address book?

The address book is totally useless to me if I can't add people to it. There is currently no way to do and no place to go for instructions. Can someone please send comprehensible instructions on how to find and then open my personal address book or the address book and then collected it please tell me what's the difference between them? It is VERY non-intuitive.

    Open the address book window.
You have a directory pane list down the left margin with your listed books?
If this is not the case, the menu bar, select View-Layout-directory pane.

In the directory pane, you can select the folder for one of your books.

To add a contact press on the new Contact button and fill in the form.

If you want to add a contact from an e-mail that you received, you need to work from the header of the Message or message open in a tab pane.
When you view the header of a received message, there will be a star to the right of the address of the sender. If the star is filled with color the contact is already in one of your books. Clicking on a star not filled it will add to the personal address book
By clicking on a color filled with stars will open the edit contact dialog box where you can add details to the contact or change the book it is saved in.
This isn't the same star to the left of the subject line of message in the Inbox.

The two default address books are staff and collected books.
The personal book is for contacts you add and use it as the main book.
The collected book collecting the addresses of people you send an email to.

You can move contacts from one book to the other drag-and - drop contact.

There is what is called the Contact side bar that sits in the window of writing. If yours does not appear when you open a window writing press F9 to switch on.
From the sidebar of Contact you can add contacts to your e-mail.
You can double-click a contact to add to an address field.
You can drag and drop a contact to an address field.
If you add more than one contact to an e-mail you hold down the CTRL key while clicking on all of the contacts you want and then use one to add it to: buttons at the bottom of the sidebar.

You can also start a contact by typing in one of the address fields and Thunderbird will offer suggestions to your address books. This method has been a bit buggy in the latest versions so watch this closely to ensure that you get the contact that you thought that you have selected.

  • How can I recover my data from the address book?

I have an old Palm V.  My hotsync cable is bad, it synchronizes more.  And it does not load the Palm, who was fresh off for, oh, maybe a year.

So I have always used the Palm Desktop program, to keep track of my phone numbers, etc.   Well, my cat has sprayed the pc, and I had to get a new one.  Meanwhile, with the short circuits happened, the program opens not right.  I copied what I thought, it was user files, reinstalled Palm Desktop and am open program, HOWEVER, the user box comes back as it is a brand new user and does not recognize when I paste the files in the directory!

How can I recover my address book?  I don't like on all other data, but I NEED something like that!

    Thanks in advance.

You have a backup file called address.dat or address.bak. If this isn't the case, then your data are most likely missing. Search your PC or the other of these two files.
