  UTL_FILE, than any package aside server runs under oracle user OS (OS user oracle is installed, to be precise). Therefore, you must make sure oracle user OS can read/write the directory.

  I am trying to create a series of symbols for maps (North arrow, scale bars, etc.) and save them in the libraries of 'symbol' of the Illustrator - as the "cards".  The goal is that whenever I create a new Illustrator file, I can immediately grasp these newly created symbols without having to open another file and copy the line of the other file you want drawings (just trying to be more organized and efficient).

I understand how to make them in my drawing and break the link to change.  I also went as far to make a custom symbol and drag it onto the dialog box "Symbols" - but it wont let me to drag it into the dialog box "cards".  And even if I did drag a symbol in the dialog box - is it automatically saved?  There is no instructions on how to record the symbols the user creates.
