How can I disable auto sound leveling?

I am a new user of Windows (just switched from a Mac), and for the most part, I loved. However, my computer did this strange thing to auto-leveling with the volume: when I'm listening to a song, for example, quiet rooms will be really strong and strong parts will be really quiet. It'll be fine one moment, then when the song reached its peak, the volume will be falling in the range that was in the quiet part.

I looked all over for a way to disable this option, and it seems that the solution which worked for most people is go to the enhancements tab in the sound settings, control 'disable all sound effects' and unchecking "Loudness equalization." Unfortunately, my improvements tab is missing. I have seen photos from where it should be - just between the levels and the tabs advanced - but he's not here. Instead, I have a tab of tone controls that allows me to adjust the bass and treble.

I tried updating my audio drivers (they are all up to date), by selecting "Help" tab Communications (which is another solution that is tailored for some people), then by restarting my computer after each attempt. Nothing's worked so far.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is also the improvements in the latest version of Windows 7? Is there another solution, that I forgot?

Looks like you have set the checkbox to its leveling in WMP to organize, Options, Library tab.

You may also set this at the entrance to the control panel for your sound card.  In addition, look in the start menu, all programs for the sound card records, because many of its settings can be made there.

  • How can I disable touch sounds?

I've recently updated to Android 4.4.2 and now I touch ring ONLY when I type in Firefox version 31.0. Any other apps have touch sounds, and I have disabled system/touch sounds. How can I disable them for Firefox?

    Hi guigs2,

Thank you for your help. I tried to switch the keyboard preferences several times, including with reboots. No change. I should add that the Tablet is an Asus transformer TF701T so I also confirmed that I had Google touch keyboard as default and not the Asus touchpad.

Will [topic: support] took me in a "Troubleshooting" page, but saw no reset button. I decided to uninstall and reinstall.

A very interesting thing that happened at that time here. As soon as I uninstalled Firefox, I started to have touch sounds in ALL my apps. Before uninstalling, I only received them in Firefox. I checked again and the system settings Touch sounds Android has been still on off and Google keyboard was always set by default. So why am I touch sounds?

I went to re - install Firefox and got a prompt asking if I wanted to use the Asus keyboard or keyboard from Google. I chose Google keyboard (as I always have) and all THE sounds of touch stops immediately. For all applications.

Not sure if it's an Asus, Android or Firefox glitch. But there you go. Fixed a problem.

    Best,

I don't know, but there is no way you can stop these sounds to emerge, they are built better reliability.

All that you can disable is the sound when a new email arrives. Although I have no reason to make this wide, but if you want, here are the steps:

Open Thunderbird > go to Edition on the topbar/tasks bar > click Preferences > in the general tab by default, clear the play a sound.

  • How can I disable auto update

My computer restarts while I use it because of these stupid auto-updates

Not a good idea to disable Windows Update, but you can make it a bit more user-friendly by going to control panel > Windows Update > change settings. Under the 'updates' position, choose either the second or third option. In this way, you will be informed of the updates, but do not have to install immediately.

  • How can I disable auto resizing of tabs?

    Hello

I love Firefox, but the one that drives me crazy behavior is auto resizing of tabs. I would like to choose a size for the tabs and that the browser to stick at that size for all tabs.

Ideally I'd like to achieve this without having to install the extensions for the browser. If anyone can help?

FYI, I use the latest version of Firefox (27.0.1) on a Mac, under the last Mavericks (10.9.2). I tend to keep everything up-to-date.

Nevermind, I figured it. If someone else asks:

    • In your URL bar, type "subject: config" without the quotes.
    • In the 'search' field upstairs bar, type "tabs".
    • Search for "browser.tabs.animate." By default, the value is set to 'true '. Double-click it, which must be set to "false".

The value 'false' should fix auto (incredibly annoying) tab resizing. Now, you can continue to use Firefox and enjoy tabs without continuous frustration.

    Hi Dolores,

    1. What is the make and model on the computer?

Looks like a problem with the resolution of the screen.

    Method 1:

First to the top, try and run a clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: Perform step 7 to set the computer to boot normally.

    Method 2:

    Change the screen resolution

Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.
