How can I find out who owns a PC?

I work in a college. Recently, someone took a box from a seller of computer, another brand that we were throwing and packed a Dell Inspiron inside. I don't know if their intention was to ship to Dell for repair or ship to someone else. In both cases, they never took off the old shipping labels and never put the new. It has been shipped from our supplier who in turn said what? and then he forwarded to another address on the box. It now stands at my office.

I have the serial number and the serial number. Is there any procedure I can apply to Dell to have the name of the owner released for me? Given that the person was using a box of our Department who owns is probably someone on the staff of my college.

It would be a violation of privacy however, unfortunetly, Lorna-Dell could possibly search the information and give the person a call on your behalf.  I don't have the ability to cut and paste a link to him, but get him on this forum and its private message by clicking on its name.

Edit = Email DELL-Lorna M
