    Thanks for your help.
With windows XP, I could save my emails to my word files.  I use MSN as my source of e-mail.  Windows 7 doesn't have a "SAVE AS" function.  I was facing and paste but that takes a lot of time compared to a touch of "SAVE AS".

I'm surprised that it is not available in Windows 7.

  • How can I move the "Virtual Machines" folder to the My Documents folder?

VMwareFusion is to put the "Virtual Machines" folder in the Documents folder in the home folder (/users/ [username] / Documents), how can I move elsewhere (as/Library/Application Support)? The user Documents folder is not the right place for automated it system files, it is intended for personal documents.

I am running VMware Fusion on OS X Yosemite (and the virtual machine is Windows 7).

You can keep your virtual machines anywhere you want. Here are the steps to move:

1 exit VMware Fusion. You can stop first of all of your running virtual machines.

    2. drag your virtual computers folder or the individual VM "files" where you / them. Filenames usually end in ".vmwarevm". There is no need to call the new folder "Virtual Machines" - you can call it anything you like.

    3. Launch VMware Fusion. If the library of the Virtual Machine window is not open, open it (Windows menu-> Virtual Machine library).

    4. ensure that all of your icons for the virtual machine are light gray and say "file not found".

    5. right click on each virtual machine in turn, and select Remove. When you are done, leave the window of Machine virtual library empty open.

    6. in the Finder, drag the icons of file virtual machine in their new location and drop them in library of virtual machines VMware Fusion window. Drop them one by one in the original order, you got, or rearrange icons later.

    7. run your virtual machines as before.

When you create new virtual computers, navigate to the desired file before the Save.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you your folder of Machines ~/Documents/Virtual excluded from backups Time Machine, don't forget to change the exclusion to the new folder.

Time Machine backups are not reliable for virtual machines. You must have another strategy. (I shut the virtual machine down, compress the 'file', and then move the compressed file to a folder that is included in the Time Machine backups. This isn't the only strategy, but it works for me.)

  • How can I move the emails already downloaded from an IMAP account expired in a local folder?

I have an IMAP account expired with emails in it I can always access with Tbird as they have been downloaded I think (I can connect is no longer on the server account). I want to move these to the local folder so Tbird will not ask me the password whenever I start to access other email accounts. I tried to move and copy the emails from a local folder, I created and neither worked. How can I do this? Emails must be on my local drive somewhere or I could not open and read them at this stage. TIA.

The Thunderbird value offline: file | Offline | Work in offline mode

Then you should be able to copy your messages in folders the IMAP account on the local folders account.

See my response to a similar q in the thread above...

You can use DVD or CD, but an external drive or a USB is so much faster and easier.

Oh, that's no good! You may need to use an API call. It should look like this (you must be logged in as an administrator to do this):

http: //youraccount.adobeconnect.com/api/xml?action=sco-move&sco-id=SCO ID to check& folder-id =ID of SCO for the file in the content library

  • How can I move (not simply copy) folders/files to an internal hard drive to another hard drive internal?

I just finished the construction of a new office with 2 internal hard drives: a Crucial SSD of 128 MB and a 1 TB Samsung HDD. I loaded my programs commonly used on the SSD more fast and Windows 7 (64-bit) and to use a lot more big HARD drive to store data and programs less commonly used. I transferred all my data in my old desktop using Windows Easy Transfer, but it would only allow me to transfer data to my system drive / C: (SSD) boot. So now, I want to move my data files on my D: drive. Windows will allow me to move the folders and files on an external drive, but apparently only will allow me to copy on the D: drive. Which means I have to delete all the files copied from the C: drive to D:. This certainly isn't a huge problem, but I wonder if there is a way to just move all the files, rather than copy/delete. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you!

Why don't you just cut & paste?

Open Windows Explorer, select the files you want.  If you want to select all files in a given folder, press Ctrl + A (this will select all THE files & folders).

Press the ALT on your keyboard and you will see the Edit menu (see the screenshot below).

    Select "cut".

Now, go to your destination folder and press the ALT key again.  Click on the Edit menu.

    Select "Paste".

Transfer of data from Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail:

    For Messages:

Copy the * ENTIRE * OE message store folder to a flash drive. (Folders.dbx must be included). Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail. Open WLMail and: file | Import | Messages | Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the point where it was saved.

    Location of OE message store:

In OE: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

    For addresses:

Open the address book in OE and file | Export | Address book (wab) and save it to the desktop. Copy it to a flash drive. Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.

Open the Contacts list in WLMail, (go |) Contacts in the Menu bar) and the file | Import | Address book (wab) Windows and the point where you saved it.

Note: If you use a CD or a DVD instead of a flash drive, after placing on the new machine you must remove the read-only attribute in the properties before you import.

    For the account settings:

In OE: Tools | Accounts, select the account and export it to the desktop. This will be an .iaf file. Copy it to the new computer and WLMail desktop: tools | Accounts and import the settings from the location you saved the.

  • You bird used on mac; now use it on pc. How can I move emails from mac to pc (windows 8)?

I had to completely abandon my macbook pro and am now using a computer laptop windows 8 instead. About 7 years of emails are locked in a time machine backup, I performed on the MBP, before becoming completely unusable. I've already started using you bird on my laptop, so how can I transfer my emails from the external hard drive to the Mac format on my pc? I use Mac Drive to be able to see the contents of the hard drive.

So that you don't overwrite the current profile, I'd say you create a new profile using the Profile Manager and create a Profile Manager shortcut on your desktop. Then, you can choose to open the profile desired to see old messages.

Then locate the profile on the mac disk folder.

Copy the contents of the profile folder and paste, replace the default entries in the new profile.

    How to access Profile Manager:

Where is the profile how to move etc:

  • How can I move the outlook express emails from an XP PC to an another XP PC that has the same e-mail address without overwriting existing messages on this second PC?

How can I move the outlook express emails from an XP PC to an another XP PC that has the same e-mail address without overwriting existing messages on this second PC?

I need to group together all messages from e-mail in a PC and to retire the first PC.

This could be problematic. I guess or OE is over? This would make it easy.

One thing you could do requires some manual work, but much less removal of dupes. For example, the Inbox. In the machine, you are going to scrap, create a new folder and move all messages in your Inbox to it. After you import on the other machine, you can drag the messages you need this folder in the Inbox, and then remove the user created the folder.

And then there are tools to remove the dupes. This one for example.

I deleted an e-mail in Outlook, and all mails in my Inbox were deleted.  How can I move (without having to send them to me?)
I accidentally hit a key that would be, and if so, can I cancel it?  I use Windows XP.

    Outlook or Outlook Express?
They are in the deleted items folder? If so, Ctrl + A will highlight them all and you can simply drag them back to the Inbox.
  • How can I transfer the emails I sent to my Outbox to a Web server for Thunderbird?

I have an e-mail account in a webserver (STRATO Communicator), and I want to transfer all my emails from Thunderbird.
I installed Thunderbird and I managed to transfer all the emails in my Inbox since the webserver to Thunderbird.
However, I don't know how I can transfer also all the emails I sent to my Outbox in the webserver (STRATO Communicator) to Thunderbird.

Can someone help me? I thank very you much in advance!

E-mail POP accounts can only access the Inbox on the server.
So if you use a Pop email account, then there is a workaround.
    In Thunderbird
Move all inbox emails in other appropriate for organizing folders.
This makes it easy to detect emails 'Outbox '.

Log on to the webmail account and move all the emails from the Inbox Outbox

then in Thunderbird use Get Messages to download your emails.
You can then move these emails to a folder suitable as "sent".

Please note that in Thunderbird, the "sent" folder guard a trace of which has been sent by you.
The "Outbox" in local folders, is the Outbox for all mail accounts in Thunderbird. It is not a place to store e-mail messages.
In Thunderbird, when you select 'Send', he sends an e-mail immediately and put the copy in the "Sent" folder However, if you use 'Send later', it puts the e-mail in the Outbox ' ' ready to go when you select "Send unsent messages", how the copies are stored in the folder "Sent" and deleted from the 'transmission '.
