  After months of back and forth with Microsoft and Lenovo during activation of the computer, I finally have what I hope to be a valid product key.  The problem now is how to get in.

  The instructions I was given are right click on 'Computer', select 'Properties' and click 'change product key '.  Unfortunately, when I click "Change product key", nothing happens.  It highlights a link, the cursor changes, but it does nothing.

  I would try a repair installation, but still once, being a Lenovo, I don't have the actual Windows 7 disks, only a restore partition - which, once activated, restores the delivery as a condition of the computer - not very useful unless I want to erase all of my configuration and programs installed.

  Any ideas how to solve this problem?

  Problem: After updated to v33, I am unable to restore my lost tabs and GROUP the tabs in my previous session, which was last night at 23:38 UTC

  (1) history > restore previous session is grayed out.

  First of all, very important, please make a backup of all files that begin with sessionstore in a safe place, such as your Documents folder.

  If the .js extension does not appear on your file sessionstore.js (the session.js file), you can stop hiding file extensions windows, at least temporarily. See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hide-file-name-extensions

  If sessionstore.js is completely absent, it's very strange. In this case, I suggest to leave Firefox and then rename sessionstore.js sessionstore.bak to see if Firefox can read this file when it starts again.

  You will need to contact Lenovo http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=YAST-3P2QYL to request a set of recovery disks.  You can also have a recovery Partition that will also do the trick - Lenovo to ask how to access if you do, and if it is possible to make your own recovery disks and how to do in the circumstances.  This is recovery Lenovo process - no Microsofts so that they are those who you must contact and obtain the required information and records.  With these discs and your product key, you will be able to restore the computer to the original factory conditions.

  I'm sorry, that we cannot help you more.  Here is Microsoft's policy on replacement software:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246/en-us.  There is no free download of Vista and Microsoft provide copies (if they even copies of Vista more).  You have to deal with Lenovo to this situation.

  If you reinstall the operating system or restore factory initially provided for the computer disks or if you use on the computer factory restore partition you need not the key product on the sticker of the computer (COA SLP below.)  That is only used when you upgrade the bios of the computer, or another problem it happens that the installer cannot self turn on the computer.

  The following text was published previously in another forum by Darin Smith MS (MSFT) and can probably answer better I could question:

  "Computers, which are built by the large manufacturers come with Windows pre-installed, come with 2 two product keys:

  (A) OEM SLP: this key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes to the factory. This key is designed to work with Bios OEM flag only on the hardware of this manufacturer.   When you buy why, you receive a product key why that allows you to register your copy of why. In order to register your copy of why:

  a. start why 2008 and select the Options button in the right part of the application:

  c. Select the register... button. He calls the Save dialog box where you can enter your product key.

  d. Enter your 25-character product key in the input white product key box. You can type in, or copy - paste the copy of your product key in another window, and then paste in the first part of the input box.
