How can I remove the windows maximum size limit?

Windows 7 seem to limit the maximum size of a window to "the resolution of the screen + a few pixels.

I am currently using the resolution 1200 x 768 and want to be the size of a running application to have the size of 1024 x 800 but can't because Windows 7 seems to be limited. I think that it worked well in Windows XP.

So, how can I make my window larger than the maximum size allowed size?

Thank you.

Hi rkdudgh,

Windows chooses the best display settings, including the screen, refresh rate and color, based on your monitor resolution. These settings differ depending on whether you have an LCD or a CRT monitor. If you want to adjust your display settings or if these settings were changed and you want to restore the default settings, use the following recommendations in the link.

Get the best display on your monitor

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/getting-the-best-display-on-your-monitor

It also depends on the limit set for the graphics card available on the computer.

I suggest that you visit the card manufacturer display download and install the updated driver for the card and the check.

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

I hope this helps!

  • How can I remove the Windows, "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" program from my computer

I use another software Photo and picture Windows and Fax Viewer interferes with my work with the other program. Therefore, I would like to remove the Windows, "Windows picture and Fax Viewer" program from my computer.

Info for WIndows XP - Windows Picture and Fax Viewer
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK... but be careful... you'll lose thumbnails of photos in Windows Explorer...
your 'My pictures' folder... for example... does not display photos.

And... FWIW... WP & F Viewer is not a program... it's just a .dll file. Disabling
the .dll file is basically identical to uninstall. (in this way... If you do not
as the result... you can reactivate).

But if "gone forever", that's what you prefer... just delete the shimgvw.dll file.

Attention last... your thumbnails in the Explorer will be gone.

How... Disable WP & F Viewer

Click Start / run and enter the following command:

    Type or copy/paste...
    regsvr32 /u shimgvw.dll
(Yes, the space after the 2 and you is necessary)

    Press on... Come in...

(You should see a dialog box indicating:)
    DllUnregisterServer in successful shimgvw.dll)

How... Reactivate the WP & F Viewer

Click Start / run and enter the following command:

    Type or copy/paste...
    regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll
(Yes, the space after the 2 and space after that the i is necessary)

    Press on... Come in...

You should see a dialog box stating:
DllRegisterServer and DllInstall in successful shimgvw.dll

To remove shimgvw.dll go to the following folder and do a right click Delete shimgvw.dll.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\shimgvw.dll

If you can't find the path, you must go to...
Button start / Control Panel / folder Options.
See tab /... to check "Show hidden files and folders"...

  • How can I remove the Windows Media Player library?

I have Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Edition and Windows Media Player 12.0.7600.166667.

I finally got my music organized, so I deleted some files from my computer and moved songs between folders.  It seems that I can't remove all the songs from Windows Media Player which do not exist physically.  I tried to empty my entire library, I could rebuilt it.  In Windows Media Player, I clicked on the music (left), and then I clicked on the first song, hold down the SHIFT key and click the last song so that all my music has been chosen.  Then, I clicked and selected delete.  I said that I wanted to remove JUST the library, no computer.  When he was done, there was still 5501 songs left.  I know that once, I could just delete wmplibrary.db, but I get no hits on that when I get into the field at the bottom of the start menu.  I decided to uninstall Windows Media Player and reinstall, but when I go to start-> Control Panel-> uninstall a program, the only entry I see that looks remotely Windows Media Player is Windows Media Encoder 9 Series... but I wasn't brave enough to try it.

    Any ideas?  Thank you!

Wow - thank you, my mp3 player thanks and my children thank you!  The convenience store did not help - he told me that my library has been altered... as I didn't know that already!  But the manual method operated very well... but if someone else is reading this for help, I don't have to start my computer in safe mode because one of the files (which was large enough that it WAS probably the file that I needed deleted) was in use with the network share and I had no idea how close anyone who opened.  But in safe mode worked very well.

Thank you very much for your help!  And thanks for the information on troubleshooting: I had never heard of this before!

  • Windows 7. How can I remove the Windows media Center programs recommended in the "Open with" section?

I select which application (Word, Excel, etc.), they all open with Windows Media Center. This happened recently and I don't know how to cancel it. I see the Windows Media Center in the 'Open with' box where it asks you to "choose the program you want to use to open this file. How I remove it from the section "recommended programs"? I see that Internet Explorer is also in this section. What should be there as well? What actually belongs to this group?

"I see the Windows Media Center in the 'Open with' box where it asks you to"choose the program you want to use to open this file"." How I remove it from the section "recommended programs"? »

A pretty easy regedit should remove an application from the section "recommended programs". Here is a procedure step by step on how to do it. Unfortunately, I don't think that will solve your problem. What seems actually to have occurred is either your .lnk .exe (or maybe both) have inadvertently been associated with WMC. Out of the list of the programs recommended for the open with dialog box will not change. In fact, the next time that you open the program, it will open in WMC and add automatically return a program recommended in the open with dialog box.

There really should not be whatever it is that you open a .lnk or .exe with because you really don't want to open them... you want to run. To determine if the .lnk or .exe associated with wrong, you can either watch the extension file associations in the control panel > programs, or you can see if it's a shortcut or the actual executable file that does. Need to know who, or if she is at the same time, in order to complete the fix.

Once you know it, this link will show you how to restore the default file type link. Matter of fact, now that I think of it, it wouldn't hurt to just restore default settings for .lnk and .exe.

"I see that Internet Explorer is also in this section. What should be there as well? What actually belongs to this group? " I may be wrong, but I do not believe, you should really see anything in the open with dialog for a .lnk or .exe. Again, you don't want to really not open them... you want to run. The shortcut .lnk file goes to the executable and runs the .exe program.

  • How can I remove the Windows Live Sign In requirement for my windows live mail?

Something changed in my installation of Windows Vista HP and I am now faced with a sign to connect to Windows Live 'request' every time I try to access my windows live mail.  (From the desktop icon).  I can click on through that connection and I will be headed to my live mail account (without entering any information of personal password) so I have no idea what use this sign is actually - but it's PRETTY! boring.  All he seems to do is add more clicks for me to be able to do what I had previously been able to.   BING was not very helpful to help me find a way to turn off this annoying 'feature'.   I tried to use the program on Windows Essentials items removal (all except the direct mail) but this did not help.  Where can I fo to disable this pop-up window?  (And of course, I don't want to lose my current e-mail settings or messages!)

The sign is in Windows Live (contacts, calendar, photo upload) services.
Contacts and calendar will be synchronized with the calendar and the active contacts.  When
do not sign, stored locally, calendar and contacts not synchronized will be
    used.
In 2009 WLMail, Alt + T, Options, connection tab, stop signing in.
WLMail 2011, Alt + F, Options, e-mail, connection tab, stop signing in.

    Hello

Try the following and see if it helps.

I suggest you perform a disk check and check if it helps.

    See the following steps:

    a. open the computer by clicking the Start button, click computer.

    b. click the drive you want to check, and then click Properties.

    c. click on the Tools tab and then, under error-checking, click Find now.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    d. to automatically repair problems with files and folders that the scan detects, select automatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk check will be a problem, but not to fix them.

    e. to carry out a thorough, check select search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. This analysis tries to find and repair physical errors on the disk itself, and it may take much longer to complete.

    f. to check for errors file and the physical errors, select both automatically fix errors in file system and search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

    g. click on start.

Note: When running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

Note: Make sure also that you have disconnected all external devices except the keyboard and mouse.

Note: If you are always faced with the question then I suggest you to upgrade on the spot and check if it helps.

Note: Before you perform the upgrade on the spot, I would recommend you to back your files using windows backup.

  • How can I remove the old Windows folder to a different drive?

Original title: Old files Windows, Program Files, etc.

I tried to use before Disk Cleanup and it worked, and I haven't run a complete installation.

I'm having a problem now, this time, and I did a full install.  Disk Cleanup doesn't show any options to remove an old Windows as it did before.

How can I remove the old Windows folder to a different drive?  I also try to remove the Program Files folder, as well as with an implementation since.

It is showing an error message "I need to be in the Administrators group ~", and that TrustedInstaller is owner of the present.

I have a question that "TrustedInstaller" has full authority on the file system, and 'Administrators' has limited access.

I noticed that there are other three to make a total of four names of users who have all or nearly full access to the file system.

Can it be fixed... it's pretty annoying to see this continue..., strictly through Windows Update.

I look forward to your reply.
