How can I retrieve the dimensions in DP (for Android instead of PX development) or % for Adobe CC extract?

I just started using Adobe extract CC (assets.adobe.com), get the PSD files to development, which has been a huge timesaver for documentation. Our developers are now asking for more information such as the ability to extract the dimensions instead of PX or % DP. Is this possible with extract, or work around, or is there something else I could say to our developers to help them get the information they need?

Thank you!

Hello!

Really happy to head extract saves you time.

Looking at Android developer documentation the relationship px / dp is given by: px = dp * (dpi / 160). This means that if you create your designs/PSD to 160dpi (named 'Resolution' in Photoshop, with units of 'Pixels/inch'), then px and dp will be the same value.

Alternatively, you can look at the resolution that you have created the PSD at and use the formula above to convert to DP.

Hope this helps
