How can I upgrade to 10 64-bit Windows?
Hello
I have a Travelmate B115-M and I upgraded from Windows Pro 8.1 to Windows 10. The problem is that it automatically upgraded to 10 32-bit Windows. The drivers from the Acer website are all 64 bits. I tried 2 times, the second time, do a clean install, but now I can't go back to 8.1 for Windows because it doesn't show the option anymore.
So, how can I upgrade from Windows 10 32-bit on Windows 64-bit?
Thanks in advance,
John Lewis
Well, finally I've upgraded to 64-bit Windows 10. The solution was to go to the Windows website and choose the option to install on another PC, downloaded the file on a USB key and do a clean install.
Thank you.

MY DELL LATITUDE D610 HOW CAN I UPGRADE TO THE NEW VERSION OF WINDOWS? NOW IT IS WINDOWS 7, WHAT VERSION IS SUPPORT FOR USE WELL ON MY DEVICE? PLEASE HELP ME
Read this: upgrade Windows 10 Dell Latitude D610
Take a look at my answer, complete instructions.
Basically speaking, Dell officially supports Windows 2000 and Windows XP on Dell Latitude D610 (and other models of Dx10).
However it can really run Windows Vista and 7 at least, as long as you max out the RAM (2 GB, 2 x 1 GB, can be purchased at a great price in eBay) and install the drivers, in particular graphics drivers, look in Device Manager and see what drivers are needed manually.
If you're lucky to have a D610 with ATi graphics card then you can even run Windows 8 and 10 with all drivers available, and I can tell you that it won't be slow dog not unlike a lot of people say, I don't have something similar (a HP Compaq nx8220) in common use. Keep as lean as possible (not bloatwares, anti-virus etc.) system, and it will serve you well.

How can I upgrade my Eee pc 101 HP with windows 7 in xp mode
How can I upgrade my Eee pc 101 ch in xp mode. ?
Hello
If you have Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, or enterprise then XP mode is an option.
From a post from Kristan M. Kenney:
"Most of the applications that were designed for Windows 2000 or Windows XP work always correctly under all editions of Windows 7, including Home Premium. Some applications check the version number of the operating system and will fail to run if it finds an unexpected number of version, Windows 7 has so a compatibility mode that allows these types of programs to run correctly.
There is also another option of compatibility oriented informatics professionals and business users called "Windows XP Mode," which is essentially a fully licensed copy of Windows XP Professional running inside a virtual machine and is only available for users of Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Enterprise and Windows 7 Ultimate.
Windows XP Mode is intended mainly for companies who have designed their own internal software that is targeted specifically for a version of the software - an excellent example of this is a web app that only works in Internet Explorer 6 (which is available with Windows XP, but not with Windows 7).

I have Windows 7 Edition home premium installed 32-bit update. How can I upgrade to 64-bit? Will there be problems of validation so I re-install from scratch?
If you have purchased a retail package, it should include the disk for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Otherwise, you can download a backup copy at the following link and use the same product key that allows you to enable the 32-bit version. Its a possibility, you may need to reactivate by phone, see below for instructions:
You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.
Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.
Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

(2) press the ENTER"" key.
(3) select your "country" in the list.
(4) choose the option "activate phone".
(5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

HOW CAN I UPGRADE WINDOWS 8 FOR WINDOWS 8.1 PRO.
HOW CAN I UPGRADE WINDOWS 8 FOR WINDOWS 8.1 PRO. WHEN I CLICK ON ADD FEATURES TO MY SA COMPUTER ASKING FOR THE PRODUCT KEY. I DO NOT KNOW THE PRODUCT KEY DELL MANUFACTURING DIRECTLY INSTALLED IN MY SYSTEM. SO HOW CAN I SPEND?
How can I know the product key to install the features?Note: Tests of Windows 8.1 Preview (warning)
It was clear that test the preview Windows 8.1 will not as simple and involve certain prerequisites.
Do not install it on a machine or production start-up disk.
Microsoft Senior Product Marketing Manager Michael Niehaus reiterated this message in the RT in the session of the company Tuesday. When the preview 8.1 is available, Windows 8 and Windows RT users will receive a notification from Windows Update. This update will trigger the new bits will appear in the Windows store, where potential testers will be able to read the description and choose to install or not.
Once the final versions of Windows 8.1 are available, after their release to manufacturing, those who have downloaded the preview will get the same Windows Update and the Windows Store notification. While their data and their accounts will be kept if and when they choose to install version 8.1 free, final, all their applications must be reinstalled, said Niehaus.
Even if the testers are opting instead to restore their Windows 8 devices after you install the bits of the preview, they will still have to reinstall their applications once they move to the RTM of Windows 8.1 version.
Windows 8 users who do not install the preview build and opt instead to go directly from Windows 8/Windows RT for Windows 8.1 will not reinstall their applications. All parameters, data and applications will be postponed, a spokesman said when I asked. Users will be able to decide when and if they want to switch from Windows 8 and Windows RT to the 8.1 versions, officials stressed.

How to prepare:
Backup of your system before:
http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/24/how-to-backup-your-installation-of-Windows-7/
See the following article from Microsoft MVP JW Stuart on how to make a backup of an installation of Windows XP here using Acronis True Image here
Alternatively, you can use for backup of Windows XP is Easeus backup, JW Stuart also has an article about it here
These same principles should work for the people who are running Windows Vista.
If you run editions such as Windows Vista Business, Enterprise or Ultimate Edition, you can use the built in backup of the computer of your Vista installation. This can be very handy in case of failure of your installation of Windows 8. For instructions on how to use the backup of the computer, see article following here. Of course, you'll need an external hard drive for this task.
Create a partition:
http://notebooks.com/2011/02/25/how-to-create-a-simple-partition-in-Windows-7-quick-tip/
Dual boot:
See instructions for dual boot based on the installation of the Windows 8 previews, the same principles will work for Windows 8.1 Preview:
How dual boot Windows Vista/7 and Windows 8
Use the Virtual Machine software:
This method is recommended if you have a powerful enough processor and plenty of memory.
You can use alternatives such as Oracle VirtualBox or VMWare Player.
https://www.VirtualBox.org/wiki/downloads
VMware Player;
http://downloads.VMware.com/d/details/player_401/dGpkYnRwd3didGRwQA==
If you are running Windows 8 Pro on a computer with the support of SLAT second layer of address translation, you can use the built in Hyper-V which comes with Windows 8 Pro edition.
