  • How can I share files between Windows 7 Pro and a Mac with os x?

    I have Windows 7 Professional and my colleague had a Mac with os x installed. We are physically in the same room, sharing a wifi connection. How to share files between two computers? That each of them should do on his computer?

    If you display links, please check beforehand that the procedure for the mac is here. I found in the internet or other of the procedures for older systems Win or network only between Win 7 PCs.

    MOSH

    Of course, you can do it easily. In fact, the implementation of sharing on Win7 last month was almost as easy as it is on OS X.  ;-) I find that the snow leopard has the same bugginess of show Windows machines only randomly in the sharing of the Finder section, as it did in Leopard, however. I usually connect to Windows machines by opening a window of Finder and using go > connect to server > smb://Windows-computer-name instead. In the Win7 box, I have the network to the desktop icon (you can get this to customize > change icon).

    On OS X, make sure you have checked in the file sharing system preferences > sharing. Click the Options button, and then select "share files and folders using SMB." Add the shared directories as you wish.

    You must create accounts/passwords user on the Mac and Windows 7. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop in Win7 (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this.

    Start > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
    Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

    Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

    You can find options to logon automatically for OS X in system preferences > accounts.

    On Win7, go to control panel > all items in Control Panel > network and sharing Center. Click on "change the advanced sharing settings. You do not want to use Homegroup.

    Discovery of plug in the network
    Open the files and printers sharing
    Turn on the sharing section Public folder sharing
    Plug the password protected sharing

    Configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, Configuration File and Printer Sharing ON will take care of that for these machines, and if you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Refer to the safety of any third party program or the user forums for how to correctly configure its firewall. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

    OS X Firewall is done in System Preferences > Security. Click the lock to make changes, and then click the Advanced button to ensure that SMB sharing is allowed. If you set up in the share pod, it will be.

    On Win7, create shares as desired. I usually just share the Public, users desktop folder and all hard drives of additional data in the system. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • How do I share files on Xbox 360 without Windows Media Player or 3rd Party applications

    Windows 7 sharing media files to the xbox 360 without media player

    I know that I can use Media Player 12 in windows 7 to share files on xbox 360 using the libraies, but I used to be able to share without media player and I would like to be able to do it again, but I can't seem to get my shared folders will appear on xbox. I don't know if I need to use folders to share public or not, but someone has all the answers on this for me?

    I use my xbox 360 to watch the video content streamed from my PC pretty much every night through a continuous connection to the xbox. You do not need Media Player or any other 3rd party application to video media IF THEY ARE THE RIGHT SIZE for a XBOX, you just need the PC configured for videos, turned on and networked with the xbox

    It is simple and quick, and depending on the content, there are two methods that I use:

    (1) as Etzel42 has described - in Windows 7 Control Panel > network and sharing Center, go to Advanced sharing > Media Streaming, select "chose the flowing media options...» ». If the Xbox 360 is running and put in place on the same (Local) network as the PC it will be displayed here but the value "blocked." Just change "Authorized" and click ok. (If you do not see the Xbox 360 listed here then the Xbox and PC cannot see each other on the network. You must address this issue before anything else).

    Once that streaming media is running, the video files you want to share with the Xbox is in addition to your video library. This can be done in en allant going to the computer, right-click on the 'Vidéos' library, go to 'Properties', then include the video or files to share. As a double check that all video files are available for the Xbox, open Media Player and see if he can see all the files/folders that you added. Close Media Player now, you do not need it works for watching videos on the xbox

    Now, go to the Xbox, go to the dashboard in my Xbox and video library. You should see the name of your PC as a selection. Open it and then open the folders that you added to PCs video shops and once again, if media files are in the right play on the Xbox, watch now format!

    (2) configure the Xbox Extender and Windows Media Center, and then run Media Center on the Xbox, this will allow you to play any kind of media format on the Xbox that you can play on the PC. It is ideal to play the Xbox formats cannot be opened natively too, it's pretty darn picky.

    In both methods you have not need of any application is running on the PC. Simply be turned on and available for the Xbox via the network. The Xbox will do the rest. In fact, one nice feature of the library on the Xbox 360 is that if your PC is in standby (Sleep), Media Center will wake up the PC.

  • Satellite P100: How to connect to internet via WiFi?

    I read a post above that says that the sticker on the bottom of the laptop ' wireless network: no w/l ' means that there are no installed wireless.

    How to connect to wireless internet?

    Hello

    First, you must be sure that your laptop has WLan card to 100%. Go to the Device Manager and check the network adapters section. If you will see card WLan (intel or atheros) then you unit definitely has the Wlan card.
    To use the WiFi network, you must configure your Wlan router. Consult the manual.
    You must then activate the Wlan switch on the side of the laptop and use the combination FN + F8 to select the WiFi network.

    For the other steps, you can also check this forum wireless. Here you will find a lot of descriptions.

  • How to connect to internet via WiFi network?

    Can someone help me please? I'm desperate to be connected to the internet with my toshiba satellite pro wireless free.
    I had it up and working before but then I lost my connection, I'm normally very good with that sort of thing. Is there a helpful soul out there who could give me a step by step idiots guide how to connect my laptop without cables, etc.

    Any help would be appreciated as I want to use my laptop to its full potential.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

    First of all, you need to know if the wireless network adapter is installed on your laptop or not.
    Also check device manager if the Wlan card driver is installed correctly.
    Then you must configure your WLan router.
    In this case, you should check your manual for the router WLan configuration of this device.

    If you want to connect to the laptop to the router WLan so you must enable the wireless network adapter. Usually the WLan switch on the side of the laptop must be turned on (LIT)
    Then, you go to the WLan antenna with the FN + F8 key combination.

    If everything is on then you should go to network connections, it you have available WLan network properties. Go to wireless networks and select view wireless networks button. You should see your WLan.

    If you have set up the WLan encryption on the router, then you must first set the password to connect to the WLan.

  • How to access a file via the Applet and JavaScript

    I want to copy a file on the client computer from one place to another place for a Java Bean.
    To do this, I created an applet and a Java Bean as follows:
    import java.applet.*;
    public class FileUtils extends Applet {
        public void copyFile(String src, String dest)  {
              //
        }
        private String source, destination; // setters/getters are there of course
        public void copyFile(ActionEvent actionEvent) { // Bean
            FacesContext fctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            ExtendedRenderKitService erks = Service.getRenderKitService(fctx, ExtendedRenderKitService.class);
            String command = "var s = '"+ source +"'; var d ='" + destination +"'; " +  " document.fileUtilsApplet.copyFile(s, d); ";
            erks.addScript(fctx, command);
        }
    Then I added the APPLET tag that references the class above in the page fragment:
                    <f:verbatim>
                        <applet code="FileUtils.class" name="fileUtilsApplet" height="30"
                                archive="/context-root/Applet.jar"
                                width="200">
                        </applet>
                    </f:verbatim>
    The Java Console, I see that the jar is downloaded successfully, but when executing code in the bean, the JavaScript code seems not to do anything, as if the public "copyFile" method has not been called at all and no output in the Console Java as well.

    Note that I already follow the guidelines at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/71-adf-to-applet-communication-307672.pdf.

    You have any ideas?

    Well, as I said before, you must explicitly grant access to the file system to the applet. See http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/deployment/applet/security.html for more information and http://www.ccp4.ac.uk/jwc/image_applet/Policy_file_examps_ccp4.html for how to do this.
