  I wouldn't make any estimates of time engineering without any basis.  I make no claim of expertise, because they invariably sound pompous and it is an anonymous forum, and no one can prove anything, then what good?  But since you bring it twice: Yes, I have 20 years of professional programming experience-oriented customers, image processing and editing software (among several other kinds) Windows, Mac, and Unix.

  Even that does not mean I know the code base of Adobe (who, in an old product like Photoshop, is almost certainly a mess).  My conclusion from the ease of "Paste as new image" is based on the fact that Photoshop is already preparing a picture of correct size based on the contents of the Clipboard when you say 'New image'.  If you press return to this dialog box, you will get a new image containing the contents of the Clipboard.  And that's what should happen with "Paste as new image".  The necessary code is already there; You can see it in action.

  As I said, this isn't a weird feature aimed at a minority.  This is a standard feature in other graphics editing and even audio editing applications.

  In many applications of our days, the user has the possibility to add new shortcuts keyboard beyond those that exist among the plethora of keyboard coming already prepackaged assignments. According to their number and the how an existing feature has been located on the keyboard, the user might have to deal with the conflict of the F2 key to their new macro shortcut assignment while making the assignment previous null.

  The ESTK interface seems to have some of these features; for example, editing-> Preferences-> keyboard shortcuts, however, I am unable to find out where and how the user can add a new macro, and assign a keyboard shortcut.

  In this example, everything I wanted to do was to decide quickly on a line or a block of comments from a script. Currently (CS6), the only options seem to be limited to Shift + Ctrl + K using this method will insert only / / ~ at the beginning of a line already has text on it and will not work on a new blank line.

  'Games' are sets of predefined shortcuts, and you cannot modify them. Regarding the 'context', "Default" use your new shortcut anywhere, while 'Text', it will only work with a text cursor/selection. 'Table' there only work inside tables, 'XML' only in the XML Structure pane, etc. The obvious choice here is "text".

  If you want to add your own shortcuts, you must (a) register your game under a new name, because you cannot change the default sets and (b) ensure that what assets when you OK from the dialog box.

  Edit-> keyboard shortcuts. The default set is not editable, but as soon as you change a setting shortcut and trying to get out, ID prompts you to save the game under a new name. Your new shortcuts will be added to the last one active; do not define everything from zero.

  The "area of the product' lists all the individual and some menus more and it can be a real pain to find what you need - there is no search button! But if you press the button 'Show Set', ID will create a text document and open it in your default text editor, so you can browse and search with you. Then find category of this element in the area of the product, and the item itself appears in the list below. Select the item; Click once in the new shortcut field and press the new shortcut key (if necessary, accompanied by the Ctrl, shift, Alt, Option, or command). If you are satisfied, click "assign". The list of context allows you to use the same shortcut in different, uh, contexts (in paintings, texts, a little more).

  A known issue (and I would call it a bug) that your custom set of keys can occasionally turns, returning to the game by default. This can happen, for example, after an accident of ID or an update (!). Just check the new shortcuts for dialog, then select your new game when necessary.

  It is not possible that you are trying. Shortcuts can handle only a single menu command name. The command being the last point. Other menus of the parent are not considered.

  You can create your own shortcuts under Edition > hotkeys (probably in the menu of Photoshop on Mac).

  Rename the folder 'Adobe' "Old Adobe", starting from these locations:

  (2) / Library/Application Support/Adobe of the user

  Raise the first and accept the license agreement.

  And try to customize keyboard shortcuts.
