  The first revision of the 1150 CNet says that the RAM is limited to 1 GB max. On ebay, a seller of RAM said that too, but claims that his RAM is special and the inspiron can take two of its 1 GB (Yes, right) glue. The Forum here, I found a post to the Web Store Crucial site that claims that the Inspiron 1150 can take 2 GB.

  What IS the max of the Inspiron 1150 RAM? One or two Go?

  I saw this rather strange limit of 6 GB mentioned before - there is a similar thread here where a 6 GB limit is mentioned on a similar machine, but 8 GB installs Ok.

  Here is the page of 'product' for the computer.  If you look in the section titled 'Memory upgrade information', it shows the maximum memory as 32 GB with a 64 bit OS.  It is dual channel memory architecture.  Therefore, you should check the memory stick existing brand and match exactly.  Otherwise, dual channel does not work correctly.  Running dual channel memory is faster.  If you does not match the existing memory, it may be better to buy two new sticks as a set.
