How much space XP disk should take?

My C drive has 18.6 GB of space that 17.5 were used. I've really that stored on it. In addition, my file of WINDOWS takes 8.5 GB of space. Is this normal?

I reinstalled XP a couple of times. Do you think I have two version on my hard drive. How for sure and how can know I free up space?

Thank you

Hello, 8.5 is normal, I use 11.8 a 34-gb drive and I have office and several schedules.

If when you reboot, and there is an option that you choose at the beginning of two xp then you have two charges, one is possible a zombie the list if you do not reinstall your operating system correctly.

go to start > run > msconfig > ok

on the boot.ini tab, select "check all boot paths".

You should have at least 15% free space for maximum performance of your programs and your BONES. More is better, it seems that you might want to get a larger capacity disc or a disc and data transfer.

  • How much space for Time Machine backups

    Hello

Is there a rule for how much space you may want to allow for Time Machine backups?

I would like to partition the drive to have a room reserved for Time Machine back ups only.  I realize that it is a personal preference.

Each individual backup occupies approximately 790 GB.  But somehow I have 6 months of backups that supposedly take up only 880 GB on the disk.

At this time the backups of my other drive back to 6 months in time.

Fortunately, I never had to go back a few more days to recover a file.

Is there a reasonable amount of space to allocate for backups, based on current usage of disk?

    Thank you

Minimum would, of course, the size of the internal drive.

    Double the quantity is sufficient

Triple the amount if you want a value years from TM backups

I am convinced that these are independent external drives from your main hard drive of Machines

  • Backup how much space do I need for a complete backup system?

I intend to make a full system backup (complete with the image of the system) with a Toshiba 500 gig external hard drive I recently bought on Amazon.  I currently have 464,86 GB of free space available on this device (my external hard drive provided with the NTI EZ Backup utility).  How much space will create a full backup on this device?  Or should I simply back up files/folders and create the image of the system on a separate drive?

    Evan

    Hey Evan,

It depends on the files and folders you have on the hard drive.

For example: If you have 200 GB of a data value in the C drive then to perform a system image you need minimum of 200 GB of space on the external hard drive to make a system image.

To learn more about the system image in Windows 7, see the link

    What is a system image?

Should what backup settings I use to maximize my disk space?

    Hope this information helps.

  • How much space is required on C:\ with installation CC Illustrator on another drive?

I have creative cloud > [Settings] > Preferences Apps > Installation location set to a folder on a standard hard drive on my system which has Oceans of space to this topic.  All my creative Cloud apps have installed very well about it except for the Illustrator CC.  Whenever I try to install Illustrator CC I get an error message that says:

"Not enough disk space to extract the files.  Please free up space on C:\ and try again. (EX10)

The problem here is that my C:\ is on an SSD, so space on this dirve is tight.  Despite this, I started the process with more than 1 GB of free space (if I had to guess, I'd say 1.5 GB), and now, after the failure, I 539 MB of free space.  How much space should I erase on C:\ for my Illustrator CC installation actually works?

Simply redefine the variables 'Temp' of your system. My computer--> right click--> Properties--> Advanced--> Environment Variables system settings. Similarly, move your user folders to the other drive through your user management. You try to attack the problem in the wrong place. Flush out just the remnants and temporary files never will free enough space, if you're really that tight.

  • How much space do I need to allow for Vista while partitioning the hard drive?

How much space do I need to allow for Vista while partitioning the hard drive?

I am installing on a new drive hard and need to partition the hard drive.

I remember he had a certaing amount allocated for vista and before recovery.

    Help, please!

    Hello

40GBs is the minimum; who will be vey quickly useless.

Recovery partition would have been photographed by the manufacturer of the computer hard disk and you can't replicate that.

You can use all of the hard disk space available to install Vista on.

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

As long as you have space and ability to manage there should be

  • Is it possible that I can see how much space is being taken up by all my emails and their attachments?

    Original title: STORAGE PROBLEM

Is it possible that I can see how much space is being taken up by all my emails and their attachments? If I right click on an email it tells me the size, but if I try to highlight all emails the properties button is grayed out.

For Windows Live Mail, go to C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail, right-click on the folder and select Properties.

You may need to show hidden files. Type the Folder Options in the search box above the Start button and select view advanced settings and check that the box "display files and folders" and 'Hide protected operating system files' are not checked. You may need to scroll down to see the second element. You should also make sure that the box before "Hide extensions of known file types" is not checked.

    I don't know about Chrome.

  • Snapshot - how much space will be used?

I have a Windows SBS 2003 VM (on an ESXi 5.0.0.0, 504890) who will be migrated to SBS 2011. Before you begin the migration process, I would like to the SBS 2003 VM snapshot. Just in case the migration fails, then I can go back to my old snapshoted version. Before the migraiton, all changes to data (e-mail, files, printing) will be adopted - essentially the network will be put on hold. The current virtual machine is approximately 500GB, how much space do I need to calculate if I capture instant VM?

    Thanks for your comments.

    Concerning

    Oliver

The size of the snapshot starts with 16 MB.

The size depends on the I/O of the changes inside the virtual machine.

But the size of the snapshot never goes beyond the size of the disk of the base.

    Anything else is guess.
