How the permissions of folder veiw

I am currently working in an organization that gives out laptops to our clients for them to use for the work, the problem is that our Clients often use ICACLS to circumvent group policy, by changing the permissions/owner of files, then drop the program they want to run in the folder windows, including windows/find / * file

Is it possible to check the permissions of the owner/folder on the portable computer quickly, without administrative access, (they have done essentially the moderator for personnel COMPUTER accounts)

Because all users have at least read access to the trace file, you can use icacls.exe to view its permissions.

  • How can I reset the permissions of folder to Yosemite?

Well, I have a mac mini 2014 with Yosemite.  I changed the permissions in the folder my documents and apply to the elements included as another admin had read/write access to all items inside.  I did it just to test it to see how to work the reset database folder permissions.

Then I went to the recovery partition, open the resetpassword terminal and clicked on the reset button for my admin user.

then I rebooted and was expecting to see my documents and Interior elements folder reset default permissions: it wasn't, another admin has the right to all items read/write.  Shouldn't they have been reset for read/write only for me?  Also: when you click the reset button, greys out as 'done' instantly, should it I wait for it to finish something?  I just restarted immediately.

I tested it in an another mac mini with Yosemite, same result: no change 'permissions by default.

So perhaps my idea of Reset bit it won't?

  • The permissions of folder/drive Windows 8 will not work with the Administrators group?

I read through some of the other questions on the etc folder permissions, but don't really know the answer to this question, or I do not understand what has been the response.

I did a new install of Windows 8 and have a few records that I stored stuff I now want to use it as well with Windows 8.  As with the other threads, I was getting access denied error etc and have not defined administrators group/full control permissions, but I still couldn't access readers, and my connection is type administrators.

When I take the disk permissions with my local user rather than to the Administrators group, but, it works very well, even if no one else can access the drives.

I am confused on how I can make this work for administrators rather than my specific user account, thank you very much!

If you know that you are a member of the ADMINISTRATORS group, then just browse the classic desktop and open Windows EXPLORER (WINDOWS KEY + E). Right CLICK on the C DRIVE, and then choose PROPERTIES. Click the SECURITY TAB, and then click the entry of ADMINISTRATORS (computername\administrators). Verify that the checkbox under ALLOW checked for each entry. If it not to hit EDIT and tick all the boxes ALLOW. Then click OK and OK. Check the settings for the SYSTEM account.

If the first step does not work, try this step only. If it does not, click ADVANCED on the SECURITY tab. In the PERMISSIONS tab highlight of ADMINISTRATORS, choose CHANGE PERMISSIONS. Ensure that all are checked in the BASIC PERMISSIONS area. The menu is APPLIES to drop down, make sure it is set on this FOLDER, subfolders and FILES. Click OK, OK, and then APPLY.
  • Reset the default Win7 folder permissions/owner

    Hi all

This very early AM I was frustrated trying to access some records here on my Win7 x 64 box.  Went to the computer, right click on C:, properties, Security tab, advanced, owner and was the owner of everything...  On restart I get all sorts of funky errors like IE8 says that my default search provider is corrupted.  Gadgets/Sidebar does not load because "system.ini" is already in use.  Etc etc.  Of course, I don't have handy Restore Points...

I tried the fix mentioned in the http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/313222.  The manual and automatic version without success.  Before that I just wipe the area and reinstall everything (pretty please tell me I don't have to) is there a way to reset all the permissions of folder/owner failing?  I would even rather go back in and manually check each box for each user/system account to reinstall completely to be quite honest.

Thanks for any advice or help - also tips to not change security settings system in the wee hours of the morning when you are half asleep not necessary...: p

  • How to restore the permissions for the folder

I work with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 10.

Initially I tried see my Cookies folder and eventually he finds in C:\Users\(my user name).  I wanted to look at the files and potentially manually remove some, but I was not allowed access to the folder.  I am the sole owner and the user of that PC.  I figured it would give me full permission for files and folders.

I tried to change the permissions on the folder, and even if the properties show that I have all permissions except "Special permissions" I was unable to open the folder.

A second possibility, I changed the permissions 'All' allow all these same permissions - I clicked on full control.  A warning window appears saying that there are permissions that were more in agreement and it is potentially unstable.  I then decided to cancel this change all the permissions back, but am currently not able to restore the original permissions.  I am really unable to change all permissions to this folder now.

I would like to restore the permissions on this folder Cookies in their original condition / by default.  Can someone help me?

ALSO: since my original post, I noticed that in the icon beside my C:\username\ subdirectory when you view it in Solution Explorer, there is a lock.  I don't know if it was there before.  Is this a normal representation / by default to the directory?

    Thank you.

  • How can I remove the old Windows folder to a different drive?

Original title: Old files Windows, Program Files, etc.

I tried to use before Disk Cleanup and it worked, and I haven't run a complete installation.

I'm having a problem now, this time, and I did a full install.  Disk Cleanup doesn't show any options to remove an old Windows as it did before.

How can I remove the old Windows folder to a different drive?  I also try to remove the Program Files folder, as well as with an implementation since.

It is showing an error message "I need to be in the Administrators group ~", and that TrustedInstaller is owner of the present.

I have a question that "TrustedInstaller" has full authority on the file system, and 'Administrators' has limited access.

I noticed that there are other three to make a total of four names of users who have all or nearly full access to the file system.

Can it be fixed... it's pretty annoying to see this continue..., strictly through Windows Update.

I look forward to your reply.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to open 3rd party app that appears in the options but not the menu applications folder?

I have a 8530 with a memory card of 2 GB and Verizon Wireless new (if it matters). The application does not appear in the main menu of the application file, but if I go into options > applications, it appears in the list. However, I can't understand how the open - all I see are delete or modify permissions and properties of the app. Any help for a newbie here?

    Thank you.

AHA! Found in downloads and was able to open from there. I don't know why some applications go to downloads and others go to the applications folder, but I was able to move to a more intuitive folder, too.

Hind site, it would have been better to leave the trial run before the upgrade or wait until you upgrade and then installed the trial. I'm afraid that it compromised the authorisation scheme that counts how many days you have left.

I will forward this thread to Adobe and see if someone can help. I wish you good luck...
