How to add computers to my network Server 2000?

I have a network Windows 2000 both ethernet and wireless.

I can't connect my netbook Windows XP to the network via Ethernet.
I remember there is a place in the server to add a "workstation".  But I'm not.
I do not understand how I can just plug my iMac and it will automatically connect to this network, but not from my Win XP Home netbook.
Is there a list of the steps to add a station to Windows 2000 Server?
Thank you
AS

I am able to connect if I use Chrome.  I've given up trying with Safari.  I don't know if it's really a matter of bowser, but I had a similar problem a few months ago.

  • How to add devices to the network of the homegroup?

I have two samsung bd-c5500 and they are connected to my home network and I stream from my Asus win7 64-bit wmp 12 (trednet router 802.11n.) I have my xbox 360 connected, but I barely use this device for streaming movies. Back to my question, on my local network my 360 laptop shows and xbox but it shows no samsung devices but if I click on all the networks I see samsung devices. Can I move samsung LAN devices?

    Hello

Homegroup is a way to network and share computers (some devices) that are working with the IPv6 TCP/IP stack.

If you Samsung bd-c5500 is not compatible with IPv6 (look on the Samsung support site), then you must configure the network as a working IPv4-based network.

  • How to add eponymous HBR in a server

    Hello
I took export of HBR little server, now I want to import them on another server, now both the source and target servers have the HBR with the same name but a diffrence in the code inside of them and I want both the hbr to reside, is possible. If yes then how?

I'm not sure I totally understand what you want, have 2 of the rules on both environments? If so, they will have to exist as different names of hbr.

  • How to add Admin master from a different directory server profile: OAM

    Hello

I installed OAM and gave the base OU where all users reside in a domain in AD. After that, I added another area where another set of users are stored. How to add users of this directory server second to MasterAdmin in OAM?

    Thank you

    Hello

It seems that you have a problem with the searchbase.

    Please try these steps-

1 Add a profile directory OAM for the new AD domain server. Now you should be able to connect to User Manager / Group Manager as users of the new domain, but it must refuse to let you access the admin console - the user is not added as administrators. When you connect to OAM, you must choose one of the two available areas / profiles.
    2. Add a disjoint searchbase so that Identity server is able to search users in the new domain.
    3. connect to the existing Administrator console system and add new directors to the new domain.

Please let me know if it solves the problem or you need more details.

    Kind regards
    Christelle

  • How many Pro 7 integrate with server 2000?

I have a small office network running Server 2000.

The processors are more old PC, running XP Pro.  In my view, they are 32-bit.  They are HPs purchased in 2004, but I don't have the rest of the features in front of me.
I am curious about the CPU upgrade to Windows 7 Pro, but have 2 concerns.
How well Windows 7 Pro communicates with Server 2000?
How smoothly 7 Pro runs on 32-bit computers?  In other words, the my CPU are too old to really appreciate the upgrade?

Upgrade to vintage 2004 PC to Windows 7, although possible, is very impractical and a bad investment.
RAM is a big problem (how even support apart from the older cost of SDRAM), former slower processors, etc.   Really wouldn't make sense.

  • How to add a network printer?

How can I add a network printer?

The printer has a wired connection to a router.  Its local IP address is 192.168.1.105.  The name of the printer is NPI64867B.

My laptop has a wireless connection to the same router.  Of course, access to the network works fine, since I can submit this announcement.  Also, I can ping the IP address of the printer from the laptop.

I have in the control panel printers, click Add printer, select "A network printer", select "Browse for printer", then click Next.  The following text is displayed:

Note that NPI64867B does not appear in the list "shared printers.  Does?

If I manually enter NPI64867B in the box of the printer and click Next (which should work?), I get the following error:

If it's important, I have another printer in network configured on the computer.  It's for another domestic network, so it is not connected now.  The name of the printer is NPI6AAA13.  I deselected the option 'Always print to this device, even if its IP address changes', nothing helps.

The port of the existing network printer name is the name of the printer, HPLaserJet200colorMFPM276nw product.  The printer I am trying to add has the same product name.  Is this a problem?  If so, can I change the name of an arbitrary name (currently unused) pre-existing port?

    Do this way:

    1. Open Printers and faxes
    2. Click on add a printer
    3. Click "Next", select "local printer" and make sure the box "Automatically detect my printer Plug-and-Play" is NOT checked
    4. Click "Next", select "create a new port", then select "Standard TCP/IP port" in the drop-down list (Note - If the printer that you are adding is an HP printer and if the drop-down list includes "HP Standard TCP/IP Port" select that instead; more details later)
    5. Click 'Next' in the standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard Welcome screen
    6. For "printer name or IP address" type 192.168.1.105; the "Name of Port" box is filled in automatically, but you can change it to something more useful, like Office LaserJet or a printer room bedroom, etc..
    7. Before you click 'Next', confirm that the printer is turned on
    8. Click 'Finish' to complete her Add Port Wizard and return to the add a Printer Wizard
    9. Select your model and the manufacturer of the printer and the wizard

A very common problem with the printers on a network that are left at the default setting for automatically an IP address is that they have a different IP address by the DHCP server on the router if the printer is turned off for a period of time.  The Windows printing system does not detect IP address changes, and therefore the communication with the printer is lost.  'HP Standard TCP/IP Port' has the ability to detect the printer, even if its IP address changes.  You should definitely select this option or - and this is the best practice - assign a static IP address for printers all in network.

  • How to add HP 9760 as a network printer?

I have a Home Media Network Hard Drive that supports network printing to any printer that is attached to its USB port. I have a HP Photosmart 9760 printer that works without problem when connected directly (USB) to one of the computers on my network. But when I attach to the HMNHD, and try to add it as a Windows network printer tells me that the print server is not the correct drivers installed. Looking for a nework driver for this printer on the HP support site is useless - especially considering that the 'server' in this case running a locked version of Linux. Is it possible to attach the HP 7960 as a network printer in this configuration?

  • How to add a new network adapter in vmware

    Hello

I installed vmware server 2.0 on ubuntu which is installed on a map of mother xeon quad core & intell. the motherboard has 2 network cards and is recognized by ubuntu.

vware installation went well, but I see that it has not recognized the 2 nd network adapter.

can someone let me know how I can add this adapter for vmware server.

The first time you have run the script vmware - config.pl, did you just create a single bridged network? You have been asked what host device to use (eth0, eth1, etc.). To fill another physical NETWORK card, you just need to re - run vmware - config.pl, although it will take for all the virtual machines to be stopped / suspended and then tell him you want an another bridged NIC and enter the name of the physical device. Then in the comments, you can choose which NIC to use or add another virtual NETWORK card via the option "Add Hardware" and bind it to the another card bridged.

  • How can ping virtual machine on VMware Server external network?

In the Vmware infrastructure products you can can be crazy from the outside through their individual networks connections, which is a good thing... lol

How this is possible on VMware Server when guests use the VMnet8 network that uses NAT?

In many scenarios, the use of bypass is prohibited due to the policy defined at the level of the external switch, but it is still necessary for the basic functionality of ping. Otherwise, how they would be able to know if a virtual machine is actually up to who answered the questionnaire on the network without entering actual connections to such hosts?

You're right - that's how NAT works (whether via a service such as the VMware NAT service software or a hardware router/firewall NAT).  All computers behind the NAT server are hidden from the outside world (unless you map specific ports to the specific IP address of a computer)... they are so NOT to pings from the outside.
