How to backup windows calendar?

Export cmnd?
ABI

Hi Boswell6

Thank you for using Microsoft Answers!

Many of us rely on during our busy day calendar applications.  Check how to back up Windows Calendar.

The first thing you want to do is to ensure you have all of your known appointments, meetings and functions is entered in the calendar.  Now when you are ready to record, click on file-Export.  This will bring you to the export dialog box.  Just choose a location to store the file *. ICS.  ICS is a standard developed by Apple to facilitate importation of text data for the calendar.

Save the file to removable media such as a CD or a Flash drive and bring it to another computer to import other utilities of calendar. Or you can also save it on the same computer for upload to the calendar application.

Now we can import this file into several types of calendar applications such as Yahoo or Google Calendar online.  For example, I'll show import you backups window "in MSN Calendar.

Go to your MSN Calendar, and click the Add drop-down list and import calendar.  Enter the location of the backup schedule, and then click Import.

NOTE: Another thing to remember is that the ICS file is a snapshot of calendar.  This means that all changes will not automatically be saved in the file.  If you rely on your calendar strongly make sure to save regularly.

Hope this information was useful.

Let me know if it worked.

All the best!

Thank you and best regards,

  • How to share Windows Calendar in Vista?

I have Windows Vista and you would like to share my windows calendar with my additional user on the same computer. Can or how can I make this happen? I do not use outlook. It's windows calendar.

    Hi 107 b,.

Windows calendar is the specific user account, you will not be able to share the Windows Calendar between the user accounts on the same computer.

However, you can create your own family calendar and even publish the calendar. Here are a few links that refer:

  • How to backup Windows 7 drivers?

How can I backup all my drivers? I can burn to a cd and if so... How can I do and where can I find them?
I don't have a cd that has drivers toshiba on this... so I need to save...
    Thanks for your time

I put t know which model of laptop you have, but the fact is that, since long time Toshiba doesn't provide laptops with driver CD.
In general do not backup all drivers. When you want to, you can download them all from the Toshiba download page - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

What you need to do is to create recovery discs that you can use for installing the OS. This recovery image contains utilities, tools and the necessary drivers al.

Only drivers that you need if you want to install the version of the OS using the Microsoft installation disc.
I hope I could help a little. If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • How to backup Windows 8 recovery disks/card reader?

    Hello

I discovered the forums here that Windows 8 does not come with the COA sticker and has no option to create the installation DVD, you can use this tutorial provided by HP, to create a recovery DVD or a USB Flash drive.

My question is, since I can only use this method once, can I somehow save these DVD/USB Flash Drive, perhaps to burn to another DVD, copy them to another drive usb flash or maybe save to the cloud?

In addition, the tutorial shows you 'use another method' create recovery DVD/USB Flash Drive, in which case you can't, so what are the other methods?

    Thank you!

    Hello

You can use one of the following methods depending on the recovery media, you have created.

    1. the recovery of the disks.

Download and install the free software ImgBurn.

1 a. create a disk Image of each recovery disk on your PC - a guide for doing this is here.

1 b. You can store these Image files on an external HARD disk or write to blank discs (or both) - a written guide of blank discs ISO files is here.

    2 recovery Flash Drive.

If you want to clone a recovery USB Flash drive, there's quite a few tools around which will be repeated - is an example of a free application on the following link.

    http://www.OSForensics.com/tools/write-USB-images.html

As to what the expression "Use another method" is referring to, I can only assume it means create a picture disc - for Windows 8, see the guide on the following link.

  • Please tell me how to backup Windows Live Mail on a Windows XP-based computer

I don't want the program that does it for you, I mean go into the directory and the backup of the .eml.  What I call the way '' look under the hood. '' Thanks in advance.

If you just want to save the .eml files manually, you might as well just save the messages as .eml files.

Create a Windows folder on your desktop or elsewhere and then in WLMail, open the folder that contains the messages you want to save. Highlight a message, and then Ctrl + A will highlight all (or Ctrl-button down while you select only messages you want), now, drag and drop them into the folder on your desktop. (They there will be records WLMail.)

Now you can copy this folder to a CD or flash, and they can be moved if necessary WLMail.

  • How to export Windows calendar entries so I can incorporate in MobileMe?

MobileMe is designed to work with Outlook.  Since I started using Vista, I chose to use MS Calendar.  In my view, it is not interoperable with MobileMe, so I intend to replace its use, but in the meantime I'd like to export the content so I can update MobileMe.
    Help?

    Hello

Calendar synchronization is supported only for Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007. If you don't have any of these installed in Windows, the synchronization of calendar with MobileMe is not available.

If Outlook is installed and is not connected to an Exchange Server, but calendars is still gray, try the following steps.
    1. close the MobileMe Control Panel
    2. open Outlook
    3. exit Outlook
    4. open the MobileMe Control Panel and try again

If the previous steps do not resolve the problem, restart your PC and calendars should be selectable from the MobileMe Control Panel.

Thank you very much. = D
    Christine

Hi Seif, which version of Windows Vista are you running?

If you are running Windows Vista Ultimate, you can use the previous function to retrieve the file.

    Please, perform the following steps:
-Click on the start ORB, then click on computer
-Right click on computer and left click on properties
    -Click the previous Versions tab
-Double-click on a folder with the date of when you knew that calendar events were present to open the folder of the time, and go to:
    C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Calendar\Calendars
Drag the file to the calendar on your desktop and open it to retrieve calendar items you are looking for.

Alternatively, you can restore the file from a backup and open it in order to recover your missing events.

NOTE: If you are not able to see some of the folders listed above, you will need to activate the system and hidden files in Folder Options in the control panel

  • How can I make a copy of the "Windows Calendar" - my 'save Windows' installation does not work!

I would like to 'save' the Windows Calendar and save it to a Kingston USB device, or something similar. I seem to be unable to locate the file via the 'computer' tab - the only file I could find/copy was the "quick start up.

Perhaps Windows does not allow me to do so, but if there is a way I would like to hear that I am very dependent on the use of every day of the calendar.

    Hi Wayne N.,.

    1. What is the exact error you get when you try to make the backup of windows?
    2. don't you make changes to the computer before the show?

The first thing you want to do is to ensure you have all of your known appointments, meetings and functions is entered in the calendar.
    a. click on file in the windows calendar.
    b. click on export. (This will take you to the export dialog box.)
    c. choose a location to store the file *. ICS. (The ICS standard is a standard text developed by Apple to facilitate importation of text data for the calendar).
Note: Save the file to removable media such as a CD or a Flash drive and bring it to another computer to import other utilities of calendar.

    NOTE:
another thing to remember is the file ICS is a calendar snapshot. This means that all changes will not automatically be saved in the file. If you rely on your calendar strongly make sure to save regularly.
