  I had intermittent problems receiving emails... nothing for days and then receive emails everyday.

  My ISP feels that there is a problem with my mail running on Windows 7 client.

  Error message:

  Thank you very much!!! I've been dealing with this issue since July and have endured countless hours of frustration dealing with staff of Technical Support of my ISP with no satisfaction. After all, I've tried, it's amazing to see how your solution worked.

  I went to my Rogers/Yahoo mail server, archived all 1624 read e-mails in my Inbox and benefit services normal e-mail yesterday.

  With your permission, I would like to send your e-mail to my ISP solution, so other customers with the same question, put around by insufficient support of the Tech.

  Windows Live Mail error ID: 0 x 80004003. I get it sometimes when I try to send a photo albums with Live Mail. I got it when I'm on my reliable home wireless LAN networks in public places, if not, and when I am connected with ethernet to the hotel wireless networks. Subsequently, I can't send e-mail from the account that I used in the transmission attempt - even when I'm no longer on the network where the problem arose. I can send email from other accounts, however. In any case, the only thing I got to do is to delete the message in my Outbox, and then try again. Although ultimately it seems to go and account returns to 'normal' - or what is happening to normal on a Vista 32 PC, in any case - sometimes it is faster to work around Live Mail and just go directly to Hotmail to send the message and the pix.   You are most certainly, because otherwise, the error message would give the protocol used as POP3. The top of the servers the account property dialog tab is for as far as I know the only place where you can specify the Protocol to use. Right-click on the account name in the folders pane, and then select Properties. What does say at the top of the servers tab?

  If this is the case, you will need to create a new account, because the account type cannot be changed. You won't lose anything doing so; you could send messages with this account, but you said in your original post you may send or receive - so there is no recorded message to lose, is there?   Where did you learn that this smtp.clear.net.nz supports port 587? I couldn't find it anywhere, and I couldn't get an answer on port 587.

  Authentication can be enough to get the block on port 25, you're clearly facing, then change the SMTP port 25, and try again. If this does not work, you will need to use the SMTP server provided by the ISP that you use, or a neutral as smtp.gmail.comand smtp.live.com . You will need to click settings next to my server requires authentication and enter your credentials for the SMTP server. For smtp.live.com, for example, you would enter your Microsoft Account e-mail address and password.
