How to create a recovery partition HD?

When Apple has fixed my Macbook Pro 15 R, they replaced all the parts inside and reinstalled system (Yosemite). However, they do not have a Recovery HD. How can I replace the recovery system now? I went to the recovery of the internet, but it was the Mountain Lion system.  I have to erase my HD and install Mountain Lion before installing Yosemite?  I don't want to upgrade to El Capitan, because I'll lose my iPhoto library notes.

If possible, log in to the Mac App Store with an Apple ID used to download Yosemite, click the purchases tab, redownload the installer and rerun it.

If Apple installed an identifying internal Apple or via target disk mode or NetInstall, and the point that the above does not apply, you will not be able to reinstall it yourself; go to an Apple store or contact them again.

  • How to create a recovery Partition?

    Hello

I recently bought a MacBook Pro mid 2015 and immediately on the SDS for a level 1 to one.

A few days after I had problems starting (never had in 6 years!), and after a few days, I have (fortunately) had solved the problem and my Mac works OK now.

But, on the way to succeed, I had a lot of problems...

Main problem was (would have saved me a lot of time), I realized that I didn t have a recovery partition, I had to use another computer to download and prepared a USB flash bootable OS X installation.  Now that my computer is working OK, I want to know if West somehow to create a collection of OS X, so the next time (hope not) I can just press the ALT key in the boot process and choose the recovery partition at startup and the use of the Terminal application to resolve the problem.

Is this possible? If so, how?

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome!

I'm afraid that you can't create partitions of recovery if they are deleted. End users cannot do.

If the computer is originally shipped with Windows preinstalled by HP (OEM of Windows for example), you can buy HP recovery media. They are generally cheap. You can use it to restore your computer to factory default condition. Here's how:

    > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07143

    > > http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html

And once you receive the recovery [DVD or USB pen drive] media, here's how to use it to restore default factory/Windows to a condition:

    > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03489643

    > > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PC3sUc3lr3E

If the computer is originally not is not come with Windows pre-installed, but you install on your own after that, then you need to use the Windows installation media to reinstall Windows. You can get Windows installation ISOs from the Microsoft web site and then burn it to a DVD > > https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8

  • Create a recovery partition. How? I lost my hard drive

Hello.. I am a new user, so please be patient... The drive in my computer hp pavilion dv5-1199ew laptop has been damaged. How to create a recovery on the new disk partition? Maybe I have to buy a new operating system? greetings. Thank you!

    Hello

Unless you created your set of recovery DVDs you will need to order a replacement set of recovery disks using the link below - the use of these will reinstall the operating system on your new hard drive, install all of the original software your laptop came with and will re-create the Partition D of recovery on the new drive...

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00810334

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

  • Re: Satellite L355D - how to create a recovery disk?

I searched all over the forums, but does not know how to create a recovery disk works for my laptop. I know it is run from a partition on the HARD drive, but I can't figure out how to access this partition. Should there be some sort of built-in utility?

    Thank you

You can create the recovery only DVD disc if your laptop computer has preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator and factory settings.

Please check if you can find this tool under start > all programs > Toshiba. There you should find shortcuts to launch this utility.

  • Re: Satellite Pro L450D - 12 X - how to access the recovery partition?

    Hello

I've formatted Windows 7 with a Windows XP CD but did not setup. I wanted to know how to access the recovery partition to set it by default, everything exists on the laptop right now is Ubuntu, but I don't know, I saw an additional partition that must contain recovery files as laptop did not come with a recovery disk and unfortunately did not create a filter.

How can I access the recovery partition on the laptop having in mind, I formatted the drive Windows 7 was installed on or should I activate or something like that?

    Any help much appreciated

    Hey,.

On the second partition of your laptop (data partition), you will find a folder named HDDrecovery and it contains recovery files. The problem is that you can use the HARD drive only with the pre-installed operating system recovery feature. It would mean in your case it s too late now and it s not in use anymore.

You have created the Toshiba recovery disc as mentioned in the user manual? If Yes, you can use this disk to restore to factory settings. Just boot from this CD and follow the instructions on the screen.

If you don t have the recovery disc, you can order it here:

  • Create a recovery partition?

Hello experts!  I had a new HP Pavilion 500 (500-210qe) running Windows 8.1 a couple of days. Nothing fancy added.

I read in the HP support assistant I should create a recovery partition if my PC has not one (apparently not). Then he said that a recovery partition is usually 3-6 GB in size! This is a typing error! My PC has just 6 GB of memory. So:

    1. should I really have to create a recovery partition? And if so, it will drastically reduce the capacity/speed of my computer?

    2. If I create a partition, I should create recovery discs? And is there an article for help or instructions on how to do?

    Thank you

    Hi sonnetdog,

To the best of my knowledge all the ships of the consumer PC HP from the factory with a recovery partition (Partition D:\) and Recovery Manager software HP. This partition restoration or creation of recovery disks has no effect on the efficiency of functioning of your PC.

You must create a set of HP recovery discs using HP Recovery Manager recovery media creation software. This disk set is highly recommended.

Windows 8.1 also provides options for effective recovery. You can create a recovery on a bootable USB drive and create an image from your PC to a removable disk for use in case of a corrupted OS or malware. You can also reset or refresh your PC using the Windows recovery on the USB disk.

Here is a link on the creation of HP recovery disks or USB HP Recovery (restore factory) Player.

How to refresh or reset your PC instructions can be found here.

Please use this link to create a 8.1 Windows recovery disc.

  • Equium won't start - how to access the recovery partition?

Hi, my sister has a 2008 Equium A200-1V0 with Vista 32-bit, that no longer starts (probably due to damage of rootkit virus). It loads the BIOS but then goes to black screen with blinking cursor.

    F8 does not work.
F2 goes to Phoenix TrustedCore Setup utility. The Toshiba hard drive and a CD-ROM drive are listed in hand and start in the right order.

Using F12 I can get it to boot from a Win7 64 bit repair disc that I burned using my laptop.

However, it does not recognize the operating system or any image or restore points (because it is 64-bit) but he will be responsible for command prompt.

To * guest *, I can launch Notepad and when I click on file / open and double click on computer it shows 4 Hard drives as follows:
    Local disc (c :))
    Data (d :)) 42 GB free of 54.5 GB
    WinRE (e :)) 1.11 GB free of 1.46 GB)
Boot (x :)) 29.0 MB of free space of 31.5 MB (which is used by the repair disk)

So the C: drive is listed, but without ability.

    * CHKDSK *.
CHKDSK c: /r and press return

«The type of the file system is NTFS.»
Unable to determine the status and version of the volume. CHKDSK is abandoned.
Cannot transfer messages saved in the journal of the events with the 50 State.

    * Run TESTDISK *.

    Analysis:
Size of the partition start end in sectors
    1 P Windows RE (store) 0 32 33 191 89 26 3072000
    2 * HPFS - NTFS 191 89 27 7477 118 1 117051392
    3 P HPFS - NTFS 7477 118 2 14592 190 62 114307072 (data)

    * = Primary bootable
When you perform a quick search, then P - list of files, the second partition it reports:
"Cannot open the file system. Filesystem seems damaged. »

So what I want to do is boot to Windows restore to drive E.

My question is for Toshiba experts: If F8 does not work how to use the recovery partition?

    Laptop is:
    Part number: PSAF5E-002005KS
    Main features
    -Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor T2310
-Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Edition
-Drive DVD Super Multi (Double Layer)
    -2 048 (1 024 + 1 024) MB of RAM (667 MHz)
    -15.4 "WXGA TFT display 1 280 x 800

    > THIS ISN'T MICROSOFT, TOSHIBA, AND GOOD PRODUCT DESIGN.
I really put t know that should do better than to place the Microsoft sticker at the bottom.
This product key and sticker on it's just proof that you purchased the machine with an operating system preinstalled and legal active OS version. This key belongs to original OS (recovery image) that you got with your laptop and it is not a kind of universal key that you can use for the activation of the operating system if you have made the decision to install the clean version of the OS.

In General, this key is totally useless. While your computer you've got legal copy and this version, that you can install so often desired. It must not be enabled.
    > So my question still remains: can I recover my Toshiba laptop using this restore partition?
If you want to recover using the Toshiba recovery image response is not. Cannot start HARD drive recovery facility.
    > Even with a dvd of Windows Vista is genuine, I can't reload the OS
In my opinion you need make the clean OS installation using the clean installation or order original Toshiba Recovery disk on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx disc and install original (already active) recovery image.

  • EliteBook Folio 9470 m - how to create USB recovery in Win7 preinstalled?

Hi, this will be my first post here, so please be gentle

I have a new and pretty HP Elitebook Folio 9470 m for the test - it came with the operating system Windows 7 preinstalled. I wanted to check some things, play with it and as a careful user I wanted to first create recovery media. I have a 65GB flash drive which I previously used as a recovery media for other laptops, and (as this model does not have a CD/DVD drive) I wanted to use this time as well.

First I searched on the web to find out how to create a recovery what USB for this laptop but the HP Web site gave me the info to use Recovery Manager, which I have not installed on this laptop - when I search for "recovery", I get something like "create HP recovery CD. And when I try to use it I get an error about no writable media (even the flash drive is connected).

I came across a tip to the laptop F11 before starting, but I do not get the Recovery Manager or the other.

Should I download and install from somewhere or there at - it another way to create the recovery key for this laptop?

    Hello Neith,

You can use the HP Recovery Disk Flash for Windows 7 utility.  There is more information about the utility on this document from HP web.

  • How to create a recovery disc with all vista updates?

original title: how to create a recovery disc with all vista updates without starting from scratch, so I can replace my hard drive?

My hard drive seems to be dying.  I would replace the drive.  I reloaded vista from scratch with all the updates, but it took forever.  I would like to make a record of recovery with all updates.  IAM on vista Home premium.  32 bit

If you want a good backup program that backups image, I recommend Acronis True Image 2010:http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/.  It offers a free trial, so you can test and if you want it's only about $30 for the original version.  A lot of people I know this program and use it instead of Vista even in versions of Vista that offers imagery as this program does a better job.  Of course you also need a place to put the backup (which will take a lot of space), so also consider.  The best choice would be a USB external hard drive at least as large as the readers you want to back up (not only the data on them, but the entire available disk space, so you miss when you add more information about the disks).

You cannot use IMGBURN do - it can't do anything like that.  It must be the imagery of backup software.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows 7 creates a RECOVERY PARTITION? __Si Yes, what size?

Windows 7 creates a RECOVERY PARTITION?
    If so, what size?

Yes, it creates a 200 MB recovery partition:
This is for the Windows recovery environment (WinRE), also supplied with Windows Vista, only it has been available from the Windows Vista installation disc only, although some manufacturers make available on a partition separated on their factory facilities. In Windows 7, this feature is installed on all computers and is stored in the 200 MB partition if you are installing using a single partition scheme. However, if you are installing to a drive that has more than one partition, the recovery environment is stored in a folder at the root of your installation disc, so if you install to a partition with a label of C:\ she will be C:\Recovery.

To access the system recovery environment in Windows 7, simply start your PC, just before the system loads the Windows operating system. Press the [F8] key function 8 on your keyboard which will launch the menu Advanced Boot Options. You will see a new option "Repair your computer", select this option and press 'Enter' on your keyboard.
