  Thank you very much for your answers. As you suggest, I went to the help/updates and found that 3 points were scored update, Manager, 13 Photoshop and first elements 13 elements. On a hunch, instead uncheck one of them, I thought I'd see what would happen to let update all 3. It took a while, but, long story short, stopped the happy Vangogh and everything seems fine.   I'm having the same problem, the screen resolution goes up to 1024 x 600 fortunately but need 768 for Metro apps to work, which includes the installation of finishing and actually pay for it. Running Build 8600 overview.

  Dell won't do a driver which is really annoying, if they did I would pay full Windows 8 and upgrade the parts of my PC which are downgraded myself.
