  Hi all

  I am trying to install a new copy of Windows XP pro on my L20.

  I formatted the drive to NTFS using the installation CD and everything works
  very well until I enter the product key, and then the computer hangs for a few seconds
  and then re-boots.

  I tried formatting and turn the facility several times, but each
  time that it fails when I enter the product key.

  I guess you are trying to install the OS not the CD recovery Toshiba but the original CD of Microsoft. Am I wrong?
  I ask because the Toshiba Recovery CD is always enabled and you don't need to enter keys n.
  However, I think that the laptop hangs and won't not seized the key because the SP2 missing on the CD.

  There is a useful application called nLite and this app allows you to create a Windows clean boot CD with different drivers, the service pack and updates.
  If you include SP2 on the Windows Boot CD and there or I hope ;) you will be able to install the OS manually.

  I have a problem with my wife, Equium L20-197 in XP, when you try to sync with an ipod shuffle (gen2). Will not mount on my computer, is not detected by itunes, but is present in Device Manager but the report he needs a driver to operate properly.

  Hi all

  I recently bought an Equium L20-197 and I thought to install a larger HARD drive.
  I wanted to know what the maximum size of HARD drive that can be installed on an Equium L20-197 (I guess it's 120 GB, as it is on the L20-187 but I'm not 100% sure)

  I have also been seaching for the IDE drives and found a list of sites who have PATA, ATA100 etc. are also the IDE drives? (I checked the wiki and articles all point Yes, but a little more confirmation would not hurt)

  I was also wondering if the HARD drive I install must be brand toshiba (or if it even makes a difference).

  First something about burning your DVDs of problem.
  Have you tried to burn different types of DVDs? I mean if you have tried different brands of DVD?
  I use only the TDK CD and DVD and I am satisfied. But this does not mean that the TDK will work with your hard drive. The fact is that not all readers of support all media.

  So can ask now; have you used the Toshiba Recovery CD or did you use the original MS XP CD?

  Regarding your question: the battery must not be connected to start the machine, so if the machine start-up even won´t just with connected AC then you can be sure that there is a serious hardware problem.

  In this case, you can remove all (disk, CDROM, etc.) and try again. You can also share the adapter of the ca and the RAM. Thus, if the won´t still machine starts, then contact an ASP (Authorized Service Partner) and ask for a review of health/repair of equipment. It would be the last resort.
