I guess I have to repeat my question here!  I have an album in lightroom and it won't go away!  I want to close it and cannot get rid of the pictures, so I can try to understand how d - n program

The whole point to LR is import, make a record, a reference to, your images in the LR database file, the catalog, and never remove anything you want to keep. Only remove, remove, DUD photos.

Note that your images are not in LR. LR is just a database referencing your images which are stored somewhere on a hard drive connected to your system or you have access to a local network, a LAN (your home/work network).

There is no Albums in LR, there are collections. Which is just a collection of images that are saved in the LR database file. You can remove a collection with or without removing the image of the LR database references and you could remove them also disc or not with the deletion of a collection. Depending on what you want to do and how you do it.

    This is possible by using our latest ImageBrowser EX software.  If you have not already installed, you can download it here.

    In ImageBrowser EX, select each image, then click on Edit and select Edit movies.  The MovieEdit work window will appear, guide you through the process.  You can add images, arrange them, add transitions and audio as well.

    Make sure you have the destination (TO - the column on the right in the import screen) set to a location where you have write privileges on your computer. The level of the root of your hard drive is usually not writable with the standard user on mac os X configuration. Generally, you want something like the pictures folder in your home (/Users/photos) directory.

    First question - simple answer, no, you cannot delete the pictures from your device once it is in iCloud.  iCloud is not designed as a traditional backup solution, but rather a synchronization solution, i.e. all sync perfectly on all your devices.

    If you want to save space on your device, consider using the iPhone Optimize storage under settings option > iCloud > Photos.  Alternatively, if you consider that a traditional cloud database backup solution, consider using a third party such as Flickr, Dropbox or Google Photos option.

    Second question - your photos will not be accommodated in iCloud drive.  It will be separate to the title of the Photos app.
