  How did you create the VM basis? (ESX? Workstation? Fusion?)

  How do you have copied virtual machines? (Just move the VM files? A procedure of Vmware support clone?)

  Mirage server identifies the different clients by their UUID of the BIOS.

  If all client computers have the same UUID, the server will see as a single entity.

  When you copy the virtual machine files to a new location, and then open the copy of the virtual machine with Vmware Workstation, you will be asked if you have copied the virtual machine and then automatically generates a new BIOS UUID for this copy VM.

  I don't know if there is a parallel procedure in Vmware Fusion / player.

  However, if you set up your own procedure of sysprep, you can add configuration UUID to it.

  Yes, that's correct.

  You will realize that the approach set out in the Manual:

  (1) has a possibility to create duplicates (that is, you still need the unique key in the DB).

  (2) is slower (requires intermediate to read all values db at the intermediate level)

  You could, as Marie-Ange suggested to write the code as described in the post to blog as well - however, it has the same drawbacks.

  If you really need ID dups before validation, you will have to live with the disadvantages of the approach defined.
