How to make Windows app default application

How can I make a default Windows for a particular file type application? For example, I would like to open .docx files using MS Word for Windows. Word I can use to open and navigate to a file for editing, but I want to double click on the file under OSX icon and open the file in Word. Ditto for Excel. I'm under Fusion 6.0.0 and Windows XP Pro.

In Fusion, I go to VM > Settings > Default Apps. The first option is to open Mac files with Windows applications, and he specifically mentioned MS Word for example. I checked this option and clicked Next on configure, but I see no option to select the default values asa Word and Excel for their records. Also, I checked to run the Mac applications folder Windows applications and applications do not appear in the folder.

Well, now when I do the standard thing for the default implementation (Get Info > open with), Word for Windows is presented as an option for docx files and Excel for Windows looks for xlsx files and I was able to use them as default values.
